April 27, 2023

At military bases across the country, Pilots, Soldiers, and Tankers run to their positions as if they were under attack. Squadrons of FK-3 Hawk fighter jets roar into the skys, the many A-20 Apex tanks adorned in ERA plates, sheet metal, or green camo, slowly exit their motor pools in formations, and Almodarian Infantrymen grab their weapons and suit up for a combat situation. But there is one thing about this mass mobilization: They aren’t mobilizing to fight.

The men and women of the cold and tough Almodarian National Army are instead getting into position for the largest military event in the country: the Almodarian April Military Drills!

Today is the first day of the spectacle of an event. In Tuvaria, citizens wake up to Fighter Jets, Bombers, and Helicopters loaded with soldiers, flying over their homes. On the coast, warships and entire fleets roll out of port and wake up the coastal lives of the country with a volley of powerful cannon fire. This time of year is always a spook for survivors of the saddening civil war 26 years ago, but the day is not to be a day of fear but a day of national pride and joy.

The first event of the drills is a massive military parade in the center of Tuvaria, Tuvaria where nearly 1,500 vehicles (500 tanks, 200 infantry vehicles, and 800 other vehicles) and 26,000 soldiers in different waves. It is started off with a speech by the president Avros Jabronos commemorating the brave members of the AFA and the lives lost in the fight for freedom.

At 11:30 AM, Avros Jabronos steps up to the podium in front of a crowd of thousands and even more military personnel to give his speech. He begins to speak:

(In Almodarian) “Good Morning to all in Almodaria who are tuning in from their homes or are here in Tuvaria for this glorious occasion. For the past 26 years, we’ve been united as a free, democratic, and pride filled country after thousands of years of ethnic turmoil and endless conflict. We need to thank our armed forces and your fellow countrymen for the continued unity and peace that we enjoy every day. But today shouldn’t be a day of sadness or somber feelings for the fallen but a day celebrating their lives and the military that has held our sovereignty together. Well, I’ll finish boring you all and get to the main show that we’ve waited for. Glory to Almodaria.”

He stepped down from the podium and sat down alongside James Ackerman (Master of Parliament) and Ethan Anderson (Head of State Depts.). The parade began with Commander of all Ground Forces, Alexander Cherkasy, commanding the crews to begin their routines. The state anthem of Almodaria Hold the colors high! began to play as a whopping 16,000 soldiers marched through the center of the city with the large 5 stars of Almodaria being held high on a flag mounted on the rear of A-20 Apex tanks. It was indeed a once in a lifetime spectacle when unannounced, two United Malordian Main Battle Tanks, which were part of a larger force sold to Almodaria in a trade deal with UM, rolled through the square with a robotic hum. A red star with a grey outline was painted on the two sides of the vehicle’s turret with the callsign “Zagonetka” (Enigma in Almodarian) seen on both vehicles with the second one being Zagonetka-02. The parade went on for another 5 hours as 26,000 soldiers and 1,500 vehicles rolled through the city. When the parade came to a close, the Almodarian soldiers in the parade made a 180 to face the crowds and hollered “Glory to Almodaria!” and the parade ended with applause ringing through the streets.

Other events such as Tank firing grounds in the Jezero Valley, Helicopter Trials, and even a fake dogfight over Aranistan, Aranistan were conducted as Day 1 came to an end.

Day 2 had come for the April Military Drills in an explosive fashion. Cities across the five states of Almodaria were rocked with the explosive pounding of bombs, shells, and gunfire. Bad memories came to some, but to many, this was the most beautiful display they’ve ever seen. Day 2 would be the start of a massive reenactment of one of many battles from the Almodarian Civil War. Reenactments would be the only time blank ammunition would be used since now the weapons were turned on eachother. Tanks were loaded with shells that would pop and then dissipate to recreate a real tank shell, bombs in planes were replaced with duds that would pop with some smoke, and artillery shells were the same with the exception of authentic smoke screen shells. The battle would take place in the expansive Jezero Valley and would allow people visiting Lake Jezero to get a closeup view of what was once a real war. The Battle of Jezero commenced at 10:22 AM. Before the fight began, hundreds of veterans of the civil war came down to the lake for a televised moment of silence for the lost. Once this came to an end, they were removed from the area to prevent some serious PTSD issues and the battle began at 10:30 AM. The battle had the attention of the whole country as soldiers dressed as Viturian fighters began firing onto entrenched “URAS” soldiers.

While this was happening, many were partying and being stupid down on the skavarian Coastline. The mighty superpower, Great Morstaybishlia (GM) had annexed land which bordered Almodaria and islands that came close to the coastline. It was assumed that the people of New Calthia and Maladh Al-Taajir had been notified of the commotion in the country and were told to leave it alone and just file a complaint, but the Almodarian government had no true way of confirming this without spending hours trying to Communicate with the empire next to them. Instead, they took their chances and continued the festivities as planned.

The Almodarian Police were still commanded to stop anyone who was causing trouble but to keep restrictions light so people can have a good time. Whilst the Battle of Jezero continued, a group of drunk young adults from Skavari were being madlads; firing their Sagrovna S.80 machine guns which could be sold to citizens with licenses above the age of 21. Around 12:30 PM, one of the persons on board got the small yacht him and his friend group were partying on close to the New Calthia coastline. For some reason, one of the partiers who were armed with the Sagrovna S.80, began firing at homes on the shoreline possibly out of nationalist values or just drunken stupidity. The fire according to his friends hit about 5 or 6 people but it is unknown if it was fatal. After yelling obscenities and other nationalistic mottos, the yacht and its loud techno music blaring through speakers went away quickly.

Back in Jezero, the recreation of the battle concluded around 3 o clock PM. Other events continued through the day like a massive deployment of soldiers out of Jumbo Helicopters being simulated, Naval Volleys firing into Aranistan to simulate the Aranistani Blockade in 2000-2001, and a bunch of carpet-bombing campaigns to rile spirits. Day 2 came to an end with many things happening in quick succession…leading up to an explosive finale…
