There are many metrics and Indices available to measure the level of development in a country. When the Bedonite dynasty took over Packilvania, they redefined the political and economic structure of the country and set up new goals for economic, social and political development. Intellectual thought emerged around the philosophies pioneered by the first monarch, Sultan Amhoud I, up to the present administration under his grandson, Sultan Namdun III. This school of thought was called Amhoudic economics and its early leaders such as Prof Isokhar Amaadiyen of the University of Abdeker compiled the Packilvanian Development Index (PDI).

The PDI divides countries into the following levels of development:

Emerging economy
0.4-0.69

Immature economy

0 - 0.39

The following metrics are used to calculate the index score:

Political development (0.3): The government must control most of its claimed territory, ensure public and state security and provide services for its people.

  • State security (0.15): The number of security personnel per 1000 people.

  • Public safety (0.07): The number of surveillance cameras per 1000 people

  • Public administration (0.08): The number of civil servants per 1000 people

Economic development (0.3): This measures the extent to which the country’s people can enjoy various economic goods as follows:

  • Electricity(0.15): The % of households with access to electricity.

  • Poverty (0.1): The % of the population living above 24 PXD per day.

  • Transport (0.05): Kilometres of rail per 1000 people

Environmental development (0.2): Hectares of protected nature conservation areas per 1000 people.

Social development (0.2): This looks at the extent that people’s personal and spiritual needs are met.

  • Spirituality (0.02): Number of centres of worship per 1000 people.

  • Literacy (0.08): The % of the population that is literate

  • Health (0.1): The number of doctors per 1000 people
