I’m going to be gone on a family trip this weekend, starting either Thursday or Friday and continuing until probably sometime Monday night. I might have some limited Internet access during this time, but I doubt it. If this sounds like rather short notice, it is - I volunteered to help with this rather spontaneously a day and a half ago.

Normally, I wouldn’t even post about so short an absence, but as Viceroy I am in charge of elections. When I said I would do this trip, it was right around the time that voting was supposed to start, but the continued depth and complexity of the debate has led to voting being pushed back a bit further than I originally expected. As a result, while I will set up the voting before my departure, I will almost certainly not be here to tally it and mask our new Magisters. I will need someone else to tally the vote and someone with Admin access to mask the new Magisters.

I’m going to be gone again from sometime Wednesday afternoon to sometime Sunday afternoon by American timezone reckoning. Unlike last time I am quite certain that I will have no Internet access whatsoever.

Normally I’d also add something like “If you’re one of the few people who has my cell phone number, call me”, and please do try if you’d like to talk, but I can’t make any guarantees as the place I’m going to is pretty much teetering on the end of the world and has terrible cell phone coverage at best.
