Acronian Ministry of External Affairs

Welcome to Acronis!

The Acronian Empire is a constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy home to 54 million people. The capital, Zaram, is a coastal city of four million in the far south of the country. Counting its foundation from the year 1496, Acronis has a long history and rich, spiritually devout culture. Acronians greatly value the beauty and wealth of nature - both of which abound in the lush, tropical country.

The reigning monarch and Head of State of Acronis is His Majesty King Mital II. His only son, Crown Prince Otan, is heir apparent. The Parliament of the Acronian Empire consists of two houses, known as the Senate and the Diet. The Senate, which has 172 current members, is primarily elected through a proportional system. The Diet is primarily elected through first-past-the-post, single-member constituencies, and it currently has 464 members. Democracy has a robust tradition in Acronis. Referenda are common, and elections of all kinds see typically see high rates of turnout. The current prime minister, elected in January of 2017, is Žarís Nevran Alandar. The Minister of External Affairs, responsible for coordinating all diplomacy and foreign relations on behalf of the Empire, is Endra Tivriš Žovradai.

The Empire welcomes you as an honored guest. The Government has placed a high priority on enriching our relations with our neighbors on Urth and we look forward to working with you. The Ministry of External Affairs is ready to begin negotiations on any number of topics, including:

OFFICIAL TRANSMISSION FROM GREAT MORSTAYBISHLIA

Dear whom it may concern,

The United Kingdom of Great Morstaybishlia and Justelvard recognises Acronis as a sovereign state.

We wish to grow our relationship by allowing residents of Great Morstaybishlia to visit Acronis and vise versa using a 45 day Visa Program. In the future, perhaps we can develop this onto a free workers movement. Furthermore, we believe erecting an Embassy building in your country to be the utmost importance for our citizens.

Great Morstaybishlia wishes to open trade with your country. We can recommend both government owned and private companies. The biggest exports respectively from each of the four countries of the United Kingdom are cited below.

Great Morstaybishlia requests that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_language be an optional pathway when choosing a language for studies in secondary and post education. Being an extremely popular language taught, studied and spoken across multiple forums around the globe; we wish that we can allow more people to understand each other from language isolationism when abroad and in regions of higher Staynish speaking peoples.

Regards,

Parliament of the United Kingdom and its respective administrations,

Franklin Barvata
Prime Minister

Serving under His Majesty,

Lambertus VII
High-King

“They export what from Staynes?”

Tovar snatched the paper from the intern’s hand. “Don’t be childish,” he said. “It isn’t illegal everywhere.”

“Well I can tell you what I would like to place an order for.”

“Please don’t make me have to randomly select you for a drug screen, Nolar. Just get this wire to the Minister, would you?”

To The Hon. Franklin Barvata
Prime Minister

In the name and on the behalf of His Majesty King Mital II, I extend to you our mutual recognition of the United Kingdom as a sovereign state.

I am pleased to let you know that space here in the capital of Zhrat Zaram has been reserved for the United Kingdom to use as an embassy, and I hope to arrange soon for a mutual embassy in your country. In addition, a bill to allow for 45-days of visa free travel for citizens of the United Kingdom has been introduced before Parliament with the support of government.

We have a very strong tradition of foreign language education in Acronis. My colleagues in the Ministry of Education inform me that Staynish is already an option for foreign-language learners in approximately 20% of Acronian secondary institutions and at nearly all of our universities. I am certain that as interaction and travel between our two countries increases it will become all the more popular, but in the meantime, the Cabinet has agreed to ensure the necessary resources are allocated to Staynish learning programs to see them grow and flourish.

I am certain that our countries will have much to talk about in the coming months, especially in regards to trade negotiations. I look forward to working with you.

Most Sincerely,
Atra Lanash Metravar
Minister of External Affairs

OFFICIAL TRANSMISSION FROM GREAT MORSTAYBISHLIA

Dear Minister Atra Lanash Metravar,

The MBE would happily invite Acronis to establish an Embassy program in the capital of Staynes, Sani Bursil, or the capital of Caltharus, Aeternum, at your discretion.

We are pleased to hear that your parliament has implemented the 45 day visa program. The corresponding bill was passed by our Parliament with a clear majority yesterday afternoon. We are also pleased to know that Acronis will teach our language, Staynish in their schools and colleges. The language is a global language, and it will serve your citizens well by being able to communicate in Staynish and therefore understand Codexian.

When it is the right time for your government, please get in contact with our Embassy Program, which you can find https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/the_east_pacific/great-morstaybishlia-united-kingdom-embassy-page-t14647-s75.html, to further discuss trade negotiations and agree on the finer details.

Regards,

Parliament of Great Morstaybishlia and its respective administrations,

Franklin Barvata
Prime Minister

Serving under His Majesty,

Lambertus VII
High-King

Most Faithfully,
Janet Futani
Minister of Foreign Relations
Democratic Republic of Lunaria

“Yarr, ahoy mateys, Lunaria be requestin’ assistance with pirates!” Nolar handed his supervisor a piece of paper.

“Nolar.” Tovar said, his voice heavy with exhaustion. “This is an official diplomatic wire from the government of a sovereign country. You work at the Ministry of External Affairs. International piracy takes hundreds of lives and affects billions of Nashdat in global trade every year. And you are presenting this to me… while speaking like a pirate and squinting one eye shut?”

“Aye,” said Nolar, confidently.

“In a minute you’re going to be walking the plank.” Tovar snatched the paper from his terrible intern and turned back to his desk.

To the Hon. Janet Futani
Minister of Foreign Relations

In the name and on the behalf of His Majesty King Mital II, I extend to you our mutual recognition of the Democratic Republic of Lunaria as a sovereign state.

We are very pleased to begin this new phase of closer relations with you, our neighbor to the west. Acronian culture holds great reverence and respect for the sea, and there are many areas in which we can cooperate in the maritime arena that will be of great benefit to both our countries. Given our similar economies and shared Elven heritage, we both will have much to gain economically and culturally as well. I am pleased to let you know that I will be presenting legislation to Parliament in regards to a visa-free travel arrangement very shortly.

Additionally, space in the capital of Zhrat Zaram has been reserved for the Democratic Republic to use as an embassy, and I hope to arrange soon for a mutual embassy in your country.  I look forward to working with you further, especially in regards to future trade negotiations.

Most Sincerely,

“This has been sitting in your inbox for HOW LONG?”

“I mean, I would repeat the number but it would just make you angrier.” Nolar held out the sheet of paper sheepishly.

Tovar sighed. “The Minister is going to have our heads for this. You know that, right?”

“I mean, she hasn’t fired me before. Not even after the pirate incident.”

“One of these days, Nolar, you are going to get us dragged into a war.”

“Not with Ayaupia! They want to sign a non-aggression pact! Read the thing!”

Tovar glared at his intern with immeasurable contempt. “Perhaps,” he said. “But I have not signed a non-aggression pact with you. Remember that.”

To the Hon. Vraalastel Ocrapaal

“Hey, Tovar.”

“Goddess above, Nolar, what now?”

“Come look at this,” Nolar said. Against his better judgement, Tovar sighed and walked over to the intern’s computer.

“Dude. So, I searched for Asendavia and it brought up these pictures of their leader, and look at this! Look at what he looks like now, and this picture of when he was younger. Isn’t that crazy? It’s like two different people!”

“Huh,” said Tovar. It was, actually, mildly interesting. “Yeah, that’s actually kind of interesting. But I’m more interested in this other tab where it seems you searched for ‘fun pranks to play on your coworker.’ This wouldn’t have anything to do with the cellophane wrap you purchased and filed an expense report for, would it?”
