Historical Summary:

The islands now known collectively as Antilias have been populated by humans since ancient times. Orcish, Elvish and Feline sailors passing through settled in the area over hundreds of years until sizable minorities lived there as citizens of Antilia.
At various points in its history, Antilias was divided into independent island chiefdoms and petty kingdoms. Most island nations dealt primarily in shipping goods to and from the mainland. The first successful unification movement was led by Chief Sideón of Madina, now the location of the capital city. He conquered and unified the islands through conquest and arranged marriages. However, succession conflicts, trade disputes, and resentment from the recently conquered nations eventually led to Antilia fracturing into several nations once again.
Centuries later, political leaders of what remained of the Madinean Kingdom established the Panantilianism movement. Panantilianism called for the unification of the islands through reasoning and trade with each islanders’ best interests in mind. Prominent leader Vican Merot of Madina later became Antilias’ first Prime Minister. Following a revolution which ended with the island chiefs stepping down from power, Antilias was declared a republic.
The Antilias Republic has grown to be known as a peaceful nation and a place of prosperity. Citizens commonly associate their nationality with the nation’s proud seafaring traditions, strong democratic values, and multiculturalism between Humans, Orcs, Elves and Felines. Antilias remains one of the busiest shipping locations and one of the most stable countries in the Ocean.
