[APPLICANT] Application of Domais

@Domais has taken the Magister’s oath.
Please vote to admit them here
This is a questioning thread to the applicant, ask as many questions as you wish.
Let their public disclosure form be shown as well: here

To the applicant: What brought you to the Magisterium? Not to say I’m judging you, since I too went the same way (back when I was known by an older, less savoury name, in 2021/22), I’m genuinely curious.

Do you anticipate being able to juggle the demands of your position in Lazarus with keeping up with debate here in the Magisterium?

Throughout my tenure as First Citizen of Lazarus, I have been in increasing contact with TEP and TEP members. A few weeks ago, I hosted a VC game night in TEP’s RMB Discord server. Around 10 people showed up. We had a lot of fun. These interactions have made me interested in the East Pacific again.

It is true that my duties in Lazarus are substantial; however, I absolutely have the time to attend to this as well

Glad to see you’re interested in TEP again! Can you explain more about how your interest in interacting with TEP members translates into wanting to have a say in the lawmaking process of the magisterium?

I have always found regional legislatures fun and exciting. This is not my first time in TEP or the Magisterium, so I have a rough idea of how it works. Of course, I am going to have to refamiliarize myself with the laws–a process I have already started.

Do you have anything you intend to do within the Magisterium, and if so- what?

I intend to vote based on what I believe most reasonable given the unique circumstances of each vote. Additionally, I plan to contribute to any law review efforts by drawing on my prior experience as a Magister, as well as my experience studying United States Supreme Court rulings and civics.

May I ask questions about recent events in Lazarus?

I assume you can ask whatever questions you believe relevant to my application?

Correct, though @EvanRikuta I would heavily advise not saying too too much in this thread (not that I know anything about Lazarus).

Correct, any question has to have some element in regards to your responsibilities to the Magisterium, intent on application and the authenticity of your oath to the Magisterium. You may use recent events in Lazarus to tie into your question in regards to it however @EvanRikuta

It has come to my attention that, recently, JoWhatup, or Soramra- in addition to EW(however EW is not relevant to this question), was ejected and banned from Lazarus by vote of the Lazarene security council. As you are First Citizen, I would ask to what extent you were involved in this decision to remove him, and the reasoning behind it.

I ask to determine your potential intentions in this region, as what I have heard from some as to recent events in Lazarus does not paint you in the best way in my eyes, is a way to put it.

As they say: What happens in Lazarus, stays in Lazarus. I want to make it clear that I am not a member of the Council of Lazarene Security and therefore had no vote in the matter.

In the past, I have been both a citizen and contributor to TEP. I have a genuine interest in the openness of this system and the community that thrives here, and I would like to return to activity while I have the time to contribute. You are, of course, free to hold and express concerns—even if I believe they may not apply to my application. I’ve noticed you’ve already voted against it, so I’m not sure whether anything I say will change your view.

That said, I’m not here with an agenda or ideology. I simply want to engage with and practice my understanding of the law as it applies to TEP’s government—a legal environment that is quite distinct from that of Lazarus.
