Art of R/D Pop Quiz!

Hi, I’m Atlae, your new teacher. Marilyn Manson had to settle some personal issues.

Please take this quiz I’ve formulated, and look forward to seeing your results. University of the East Pacific

NOTE: You do not have to be EPSA or experienced with raiding and defending to take the test.

Alright, when I set this up, I thought I would post it within a week. But a month is okay too.

Without further ado, let’s discuss the answers for the questions.

Obviously, the answer “Getting a bunch of friends to endo and move into a region” has the most responses to it, followed by “Stamping down on userite scum,” “Kicking over someone’s sandcastle,” and “Boring.”

What was the reasoning behind the answer you chose?

EDIT: Oh, and what do you interpret from the results?

There is no other point to anything in NS other than Purging the Userites. That is all that matters.

From what I had heard (I had not joined EPSA before this I think), it was just going around and endoing everyone.
So that “Getting a bunch of friends to endo and move into a region” answer seemed to match the description of raiding more.

EDIT(cause why not):
I can interpret from the question that not one person chose the red option, or helping natives. This leads me to either believe that one, all the people who took the quiz knew what raiding was, and decided to pick the funnier answers, or two, most of the people who took the quiz had an impression of what raiding was and somehow did not click that specific answer.[edit_reason]Atlae[/edit_reason]

Raiding is an act of mercy. Like a Leviathan churning the waters, the raider stirs the lifeless mass of NationStates, agitating it out of its apathy.

But is Raiding and defending not the same act done in the name of different interests ?

They both involve undermining the sovereignty of regions.

But Raiding is mostly for either gaining numbers when the region is not relevant… like the case of Westphalia. But in most cases, it is a purely foreign invasion that is unjust, like the Communal Confederacy right now.

Defending is to defend the old government of said region despite ideology.

That principle of Raiding a region to reinstall its old government may not always be the best thing, especially if in this case the raiders are seen as liberators & defenders revisionists. But at the same time, roles are reversed when raiders raid with imperial conquest in mind without justification or even a diplomatically placed merger.

Hence you have raiders like The Black Hawks who are Lawfully evil, which should not exist if the world of R&D is monochrome.

In conclusion, Raiding and defending have to be justified as good or evil depending on which situation.
