Historical Summary:
Banteay (based on Cambodia/Khmer) was part of South Peragen for its entire existence. After the Human Supremacist government was established in South Peragen, the Banteayan elves declared independence, forming the Fascist State of Banteay. The Fascists won the war against South Peragen and established their own nation, where only the elves ruled the elves. The Fascist government was widely popular, but it was not long before the Aivintian Empire came a-knocking. With an overwhelmingly powerful military and a justification based on a war on fascism, Aivintis quickly landed in Banteay, and annexed the nation after a year of fighting due to strategic brilliance, the ineffectiveness of the Fascist government, growing discontent with the ruling class, and the help of both a prominent industrialist and a high ranking Banteayan general. The Dependency has enjoyed more freedoms and social benefits since the “””””””liberation”””””” from the fascist regime, and accepts the rule of Aivintis through their puppet Governor. They even get the appearance of democracy, as a treat.
IMPORTANT NOTE
This is a nation used for expansion. I have been working on the RP, with some delays, since March 26. I reserved the land because it was an expansion RP, not a new nation claim, but it has recently come to my attention that I need to do a nation claim instead, since it isn’t colonialism. I have a detailed and (I think) cool plan for the future of the RP, and it will end with Aivintis ruling Banteay. I know it is kinda cheap to claim a nation as a territory of your original nation, and it kinda goes against my personal opinions on how expansion should work, but I am doing the RP in line with all the rules and whatnot, and straight up colonialism to such a degree is very unrealistic with my history (and also a lot more boring IMO), so my only option always has been the period from 1911-2013 where Aivintis was an imperialist nation. I know I should have done this before the RP so my work isn’t wasted again, but I honestly didn’t know that’s what I was supposed to do. In the future, if I do more RPs along these lines, I’ll know what to do. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your time.
