You are also welcome to create your own language. I haven’t decided an official name for the language (Brazanian for now) which will be analogous to Portuguese. Brazanians also speak Staynish.

Historical Summary: I want to begin this by stating that this is just my general idea for the history of this nation. I am perfectly open to adjusting this to better mesh with my neighbors! For the purposes of this factbook, Brazania exists, as stated, in the present day, 2024.
The history of modern Brazania begins in 1875. After a string of resource extracting dictators ruled the country, a popular revolution swept the Republic into power. Since then, Brazania has been a stable democracy largely until 2009. At that time, the charismatic chairman of the Communist party, Estevão Brito Morais, known mononymously as Brito, swept the National Assembly elections, bringing with him a massive majority in government. Brito engaged in massive overhauls of Brazania’s economic and social systems, expanding the welfare state and mandating state takeovers of private corporations. However, Brito died unexpectedly of natural causes shortly after the 2021 election. Now, his handpicked successor, Carvalho, leads the country and is facing elections in 2024 that will be a referendum on the Party’s programs.
