Greetings fellow Magisters,
I am putting myself as a candidate for Provost in the [redacted] session of the Magisterium.
I admit its been a long while since I posted a campaign, but will try my best
My Philosophy of being a Provost is that I am just the first among equals and not the boss of fellow Magi, and that it is my job to assist fellow Magisters in getting their ideas to the floor for voting and ultimately, help TEP become a better place for those who want to participate in it in good faith. Well basically a speaker, just like the RL Democracies
As for my policies during the upcoming session:
-
Deputies: The Deputy Provosts are our future Provost Candidates, and therefore I would be posting within the Magisterium an invitation of sorts for Magisters who eventually want to be Provost to start doing the little things in prepare them to eventually become Provosts themselves one day. Also, managing the business of the Magisterium is not a one-person army, and definitely need assistance on this front
-
SOM Reforms: I intend to pursue some reforms on the SOM in response to recent discussions, even if I am not elected to the position of Provost. I believe that they are needed to ensure that non-Magisters have our trust and eventually they may become interested in participating in the Magisterium as an official Magister.
-
Interpretations of the SOM: The Provost makes the final call on the interpretation of the SOM, but I would like to get a consensus within the Deputies and the wider Magisterium on the proper interpretation to ensure maximum happiness with everyone. Otherwise, I will go with the plain reading of the SOM, as if anyone who hasn’t seen it for the first time is reading it.
-
Activity: I think we have an active Magisterium currently, but if there is no votes being called for a month, I will be raising a roll call to gauge activity.
-
The Executive: I am happy to work with the Executive in concert with the rest of the Magisterium to achieve common goals. Personally, I like a transparent Government, but I understand that some things cannot be discussed in the public-facing parts of the Magisterium, and so I will respect this. Ideally, future SOM Reforms will allow Magisters to raise sensitive matters with the government and allow scrutiny within closed sessions of the Magisterium.
-
Advisors: I admit that there is still some things to learn on the job, and I will be asking for advice from more experienced people from time to time.
I am willing to take questions from those reading my campaign, despite not being around for as long as others have, and regardless of whom you vote for, thank you for your consideration.
NOTE: For obvious reasons, this campaign is for the Provost of the 69th Magisterium
