[CAMPAIGN] Stepping Up - I'm Dead for Provost of the 63rd Magisterium

Hello, fellow Magisters! I know many of you may not know me well, as I have yet to be very talkative and mostly stick to just voting on the votes. So before I begin talking about my campaign promises, I’ll tell you all about myself and what I have done in the TEP sphere.

My name is Dead and I joined NS through the Drewvasion, like many people here. My TEP nation is American-Cascadia. I chose to join TEP because I was like “Oh East Pacific means like the West Coast of the US”, and my nation was based off of Cascadia so it made sense.

After this, I left NS for about a year, and finally came back and involved myself in TEP. With this, I also joined Urth forum roleplay. Not too long after I rejoined TEP I became the Culture Minister under Zuk and retained the role until after Shadow’s term as Delegate ended.

Eventually, I turned my full focus over to Urth where I had become a cartographer. I had never thought I would ever be doing something like this with my time, but it was a welcome surprise. I am still an Urth cartographer, which is as fun as ever.

Then, when staffer applications opened I applied and obtained the role. Then eventually I became a moderator for all of the TEP servers, which was also something I never knew I was going to get, but I enjoy it nonetheless.

Now going back to the Provost role, I have been a Magister for a little over three years now. I will say, as to not bring any surprises to anyone if I am elected, I have not read over all the laws of TEP. I have read over the ones that pertain to the Magisterium and the Provost, as well as the Standing Orders, but I have not read everything I could. Right now I am working on reading over everything that is important and pertains to what I will do as a Provost.

Right now, I have a lot of time on my hands, and I am always readily available. This would make me a good Provost in the sense that I am always reachable unless I am asleep or doing something with friends or family. Also, even though I am in college, my classes have a very small workload, so this should not interfere too much with my duties as a Provost.

For everything that I am not quite sure about, or that I do not know for certain, I will consult the Deputy Provosts and the old Provots. I am not in this alone, I know many people who try to distance themselves from others and not accept help, but I am different than that, I will take all the help I can get. I will admit that I am not perfect because no human is, so if I am struggling, I will always call on those close to me to help.

Alongside all of this, I will make sure to pay attention to feedback and comments from everyone in the Magisterium. I am a person who takes feedback and implements it right away. So if during my term someone has an issue with how I am doing something or comments on how I can fix something I am doing, I will always listen to them and figure out how to implement those changes. I am a fast learner when it comes to these kinds of roles, but as I said earlier, I am not perfect, and I do need help and feedback to help me get better.

As for picking my Deputy Provosts, I will allow the previous Deputy Provosts to choose if they would like to keep their role or put it up for a vote. I do plan on having four Deputy Provosts in my term, so there will be at least a role or two open to current Magisters. I believe that all the Deputy Provosts as of right now have done an amazing job at helping to keep the Magisterium running, so I would like to give them a chance to be able to keep up their work, while also giving the other Magisters a chance to step up.

I know that you all will make the correct choice for who to vote as Provost, and even if it isn’t me who you vote for, I will always respect your decisions, and I know whoever gets the role will do great.
