[CAMPAIGN] Support the Dremlegate! FEB26

Support Dremaur for Dremlegate Feb26!!!

The door opens, and in Admiral Dremaur walks, sitting at a desk. Reporters from the East Pacific News Service sit at table set out in front of him. He glances at familiar faces around him, before speaking:

“My fellow Easterners, today we sit in a pivotal moment in our history. For the last month I’ve taken the reigns of government and carried on the great legacy our Field Marshal has established, and again I would be remiss to not thank him for his valiant service.

As we look to our shared future, we continue to push for proper recognition on the world stage. I will continue to forge alliances and treaties with those who can share in our vision for a better world. At home, we will continue to strengthen our government, including pushing for Head of Government and our social aspects internally. We will see a united TEP community like no other, working hand in hand to achieve our vision.”

“My platform for the ministries are as follows:”

Culture is a place that I definitely think we can improve upon. We have a very successful one-trick: Hunger Games. Every month we shred gallons and gallons of blood to unchecked overgrown capitalist police states, but we need to be doing more.

One idea I am either going to utilize is a meme contest. Memes fuel the community soul of TEP, so why not tap into that? More details on this to come! Another thing we can do is utilize Discord games, and make events of it. I’ll be looking into games we can turn into periodic activities for the region, even things like leaderboards, prizes of some sort, etc.

Continuing to showcase our regions wonderful symbiotic ministries, I will be encouraging my Culture Minister to make impactful events with our friends and allies. Also, as a tool to test the potential friendships with other new regions as well.

How could I not start with the ministry I oversaw? EPSA has come along way under my tenure, and I am extremely confident that trend will continue under my delegacy, because I’m proud of the team I got around me. We will continue to stop out fascists across the game as it is our favorite pastime. We will also mobilize against our enemies, and those who choose to attack our friends. We will also polish our troops like never before by planning war games with our allies abroad.

Dremaur smiles to the crowd around him. Now my plan for you guys, I will continue to support you in your journalist pursuits, including having the FA council / EPSA admirality pass out editions. Further, I will be expecting of my ministers to provide an update so that the citizenry can be made aware of what their government is working on.

Ah, Foreign Affairs, my old flame. I’ve had the pleasure to serve as a constant FA Councillor, as well as a former Minister, and this is a place I plan to have fun in. We started some new friendships in the current day with The West Pacific, The North Pacific, The Outback, and The Plains of Perdition. I want to continue growing these budding relationship, as well to tending to the garden of old allies we have. I will be tasking EPSA as a part of FA to running cooperative missions. I want us to have a very visible relationship with our allies.

Recently, I admitted some disdain with the name of our NDAY faction, ANAL. My intent with this was solely on feeling the name is getting old. Or maybe I am? But nonetheless it was not meant to undervalue our allies/friends who fight by our side in these events. That being said, TEP will continue to commit to ANAL as she wills it.

I will continue the trend, and be personally heading up recruitment, However, I am bringing back the recruitment ministry as an unheaded body, who’s purpose will be to gather recruiters together. We will have leaderboards, and badges to promote the top recruiters.

It take guts to admit a weakness, and here I will disclose one. I am not very strong in RP, its been years since I’ve done it proper. However the RMB Council was made to solve this and so far I’ve been working with them through my Admirality as well as Acting Delegate term. I will continue to support the breakthrough that the council has been for the Government-RP community relations.

Similar is my plan for UTEP. I want to initiate projects to document the history of different institutions of TEP, and to make a sort of history publication for new players to learn about our shared culture.

Whatever I can do to keep this well oiled machine running smoothly, I will be doing. What I would like to look into adding is creating a culture around WA and new WA authors of TEP. The more badges our region and regionmates can get, the more dopamine that will give me as delegate.

I’ve spent the last 5 years in consistent government positions around TEP, and I am very proud of the community I’ve gotten to serve. Now as I look to serve the community as the Delegate, I look forward to doing even more for my community.

Thank you,

Ex Oriente Lux,

Respice, Adspice, Prospice,

Dremaur

While not a TEP event, Cool Name Minecraft Server is the first Executive-promoted and TEPer-created event to enforce MGC Sanctions. This sparked a lot of political division. Will TEP be inspired to continue these sanctions in future events under your leadership?

TEP’s long-time N-Day partner, Anime Nations Against Liberals (ANAL), is managed by a former TEPer the Magisterium is deliberating stripping of the Order of the Golden Ocelot Award for, in reckless summary, alleged treason. N-Day is only on the first weekend of March: you don’t have much time to decide once elected. What do you think TEP’s N-Day plans should be?

A Cool Name Minecraft server promotion was meant to be a favor to an Easterner project. It was not my intent to sponser if officially, and if in the future another project is asked for, the Executive will not be posting it, and I would not support another MGC sanction enforced event. This was a mistake I own up to.

As for NDay / ANAL, I’ll state I find the name a bit tiresome at this point. However, I will follow the will of the TEPers who participate in this event the most on whether we should stay with the faction. The political discussions of the Magisterium right now will not have a bearing on our faction.

Do you not think such a move could open up the grounds for regional division over N-Day if you were to leave it up to the citizenry?

Any move where we let the citizenry decide is bound to cause some strife and division, but I trust my peers to be civil with it.

What are your plans on how to make TEP a safer place for everyone to engage in, both new and established, noting that there have been several instances in the previous delegacy timeframe of rampant toxicity and outright abusive behaviour that have been swept under the rug? Happy to reach out to you in DMs if you need specifics as my goal here is not to incite drama, but to see what your plan for establishing better internal culture, not just external.

And here is another sentence because Discourse doesn’t like me copying and pasting questions between threads.

Toxicity is not something I will tolerate in my ministries, I do not like that culture and will not work in it. Life is stressful enough, I feel like we as a region have shown multiple times we can approach stressful situations with tempered responses, and I want to see that as the norm in the east. I am not trying to say that these things cant be emotion-inducing, but we can all practice stepping away for a bit rather than losing our heads.

Do you plan on specifically building our relationship with TWP more? Do you believe there is potential m, later down the line, for much stronger relations to be built with them?

Yes, I believe there is a ton of potential to foster a mutually beneficial relationship with TWP, and grow our friendship. This is my believe alongside our other new partners. Now is the time to have those discussions and plan events to tighten our bonds.

Before I ask the candidates some generic questions, I have a specific one for you. While you aren’t exactly running as an incumbent, you’ve still had the opportunity to serve as interim delegate for AMOM. Do you plan any significant departures from the overall direction and manner of conducting things this term, or do you see yourself more as maintaining continuity and making improvements?

I see it as a mix of both. While I agree a lot with the administration I’ve been apart of, and led now, there Is certain places I split personally with AMOMs viewpoints.

One being DMs, they are a great tool to quickly pop in and can elicit responses from folks who might ignore a ping. But the terrible downside is that records get lost, and I’ve personally had problems keeping track of DM groups. We already have 50+ servers to interact with (allies, embassies, personal IRL servers even). Its bloat to add GCs to all that mess unless it makes sense for the instance.

I’ll go ahead and share my plans for FA I posted on discord, for example.

  1. When I was the FA minister many years ago, i found the method that worked best for me was to groupthink and decide on pretty much anything. so my plan is as follows:
  • Group Chats with Qualified Personnel: Sensitive conversations with preliminary discussions. No decisions will be made here directly. Think head of state and FA minister relationship discussions, getting an outline of intent established
  • FA Inner Circle: : ALL FA DECISIONS MADE HERE. conversations will move from this body to Magisterium Closed Session as relevant / mechanical responsibility of the law.
  • Lower Council : General discussion on NS events. The Circle will take thoughts/ideas in consideration for its decisions, but the Council itself is nonbinding for the purpose of policies. I view this as nationstates but with less input from the foreign peanut gallery and opt-in.
The clear ethos shall be receipts receipts receipts . I’m an accountant by trade, and its instilled in me the value of backup documents, and secondary, tertiary, further verification of decisions so we move as one accurate thorough body.

Dead has stated he will try to personally recruit individuals on a one-to-one basis if he sees someone fit for X or Y role. Will you do the same or appoint someone to do that task, or no?

You may very well be the last Executive Delegate we elect. Last term was undeniably transformative, with the return of EPNS and TFN, with the TWP detente, with Cretox’s WA revolution, and with the institution of the RMB Council. How do YOU intend to have a transformative impact? How will you ensure this position as we know it is sunsetted with a cambrian explosion of government success? What, in one sentence, is your vision of the TEP your term leaves behind? What image do you think we reflect if our last Exec Del is someone new to office with a seemingly long but potentially interrupted period of leadership ahead?

Separate question — Despite being, I believe, one of the original pushes behind the idea, I do not see game expansion anywhere in your campaign. Can you walk me through your change of mind?

Recruitment is something I feel is strongly more effective if it’s ran by a position of visibility, the delegate. So I will be looking to utilize our recruitment tools as much as I am physically able to. However, I want to create a culture around it too. I want to add announcements and ribbons to the recruitment ministry. It will be a staffed ministry without a head, because I am taking personal control of this one.

I look to increasing our presence in the WA. I want to see new WA authors from TEP formed into exceptional writers with substantive resolutions passed. I also look to continue to grow EPSA, to peak higher than it has ever before. I want to see huge numbers in EPSA, and as the potentially outgoing Admiral, I’m in the unique position to be the best delegate choice for seeing this happen.

I’m very happy to see HOG coming in, and I will be honored to usher in a golden age of security where we can celebrate those who serve as heads of our community without having to worry about our in game mechanical delegate being seized. This essentially abolishes any dreams of would
be usurpers from ever touching our region again.

As for game expansion, this is still a high priority to me, but I think this is something I was planning to do towards the back half of my term if elected
The reason being there is still some serious work to be done in the Nationstates side so that way we can divert manpower to figuring out expansion. Expansion for TEP to be successful will require the same cost of entry of NS I believe, so I will be looking to find free, easily accessible games for us to consider.

As for other types of video games, I think we should definitely look into creating sub communities in these as well. I’m thinking something such as a Valheim server would be incredibly fun to play with our region mates, and can feed back into culture, and EPNS for stories, showcases, and if we do a roleplay server that would be all the better. Minecraft, and Hightale also come to mind. All ran with TEP values and the expectation that sanctions will not apply.

Going to expand upon this as I believe your meaning was all ministries. There is some people I already have in mind for positions, but there is also ministries I want to shake up and see new life and I will be staffing these personally through interviews.

Voting is underway. Election season is an ideas expo from many qualified folks for the Delegacy. Legally only one of us can be elected, but everyone’s goals could still be achieved.

  • If you are elected, what in the other candidates’ proposals do you wish to additionally accomplish?
  • If you are not elected, how do you wish to personally see that your platform gets accomplished as a Minister given the opportunity?
