Cappedore For Delegate: I Get The Job Done!

CAMPAIGN THEME: https://youtu.be/DubtPdXXjew?si=jvBVv01qLdPsEq_z

Howdy there! I’m Cappedore, known otherwise as Tommo, and I’m running to be your Delegate this October 2025!

In the last four years that I’ve been around in TEP, I’ve found myself very much at home here. Coming from a UCR that I helped build from the ground up but ultimately pushed me away at the very end, The East Pacific has proven to be a place of solace, hope and community for me when I needed it the most on this site. I have met some amazing people here, and I’m sure I will continue to do so over the years to come!

But who am I really, behind the fancy flags, the evil Tommo XP appearances at the Hunger Games, and the occasional Chappell Roan references? In reality, I’m a 20 year old guy from the UK with a keen interest in leading communities and making people happy!

Having served in the executive for the last three years, respectively as your World Assembly Affairs Minister, your Culture Minister (thrice), your Vice Delegate, and (for a short stint) your Minister of News, I have come to discover that no government is perfect, even this one. In every region across this website there are flaws and there are always going to be flaws, which is why change and progression is always going to be necessary. These are two values that I stand for strongly and I wish to uphold should I be elected as TEP’s Delegate this October.

I have worked alongside some wonderful people, such as Dead, Merlovich, Dremaur, Aivintis, Altys, Shadow, etc. Every single one of you have helped shape me into who I am today. Now I want to make a real, lasting difference. So, without further ado, here’s everything I’m going to get the job done on:

Ah, the executive. My main area of duties for the last three years.

In terms of regional recruitment, an imperative process that actively contributes to the survival of this region in the current worldwide scenario, I think the current system we have in place is working just fine. I have seen a variety of new faces become active, productive citizens of the East. Under my Delegacy, I will indulge to see this process continued.

The executive government works at the very heart of the region. In many ways, the work all ministers and their staffers do outlast that of the Delegate’s. I cannot stress enough the importance of the executive in a region such as this one.

One main thing I’d like to do is to push for a wider executive recruitment campaign. We need more staffers across all ministries, not just one. We need more hosts for Culture events, we need more Diplomats, we need more staffers to assist the WA Minister, all that jazz. Most importantly, we need more prospective future ministers to join the fray. Without fresh faces, the region cannot move forward, which is why executive recruitment for new staffers is so very important.

Region-wide telegrams is one cause. But it gets annoying after a while. This will not be my primary method of recruitment into our executive. I will seek to utilise EPNS as a good method of recruiting into the executive; EPNS gets a good amount of readers when a new edition is published, and it would help keep the ministry active as over the last year it has unfortunately faltered, something not even I could endeavour to fix earlier on in June. RMB recruitment will also be a primary method of recruiting into the executive; giving our RMB users the opportunity to participate more in regional government should not only be encouraged, it should be mandatory on the government’s end. If this means a message a week or a message every two days, I will seek to open applications to all ministries for our more RMB-side users to apply for, and make them easily accessible.

I will also seek to continue the position of Prime Minister. Speaking as a former Vice Delegate, I know the importance and weight the position holds for the Delegate. The Delegate will always need somebody to step in for them when they are unable to perform their duties due to absences. It’s also incredibly nice to have a second-in-command, right-hand-man/woman/enby/somebody-inbetween to assist in the day-to-day running of Ministries. The position of Prime Minister was an idea of mine, and I’m happy to see that it’s been relatively effective so far. I will seek to bring more importance to the position if I am to be elected, through giving them seniority in the cabinet, and making them the Delegate’s senior advisor. This position adds to the meritocratic nature of our community and I’d like to see it keep existing.

In short:

  • Expanding recruitment to the executive to keep our ministries working efficiently
  • Conserving our current method of external recruitment
  • Making government more accessible for RMB-exclusive users
  • Keeping and making the position of Prime Minister more important

An issue I’ve seen come up a lot over the last few years is the problem of a divided Eastern community.

Indeed, it would be ignorant to suggest that the RMB community feels forgotten and excluded when it comes to the government. And, without a direct say in governmental affairs, this surely isn’t a surprise.

As a fairly new member of the region who came from a UCR, I will seek to rectify this. If I am elected delegate, I shall seek to open applications for a 17-member RMB Council (no cartography councillors and no government ministers), and I will begin pooling ideas for our Forum Roleplay community to have its own council too. In turn, I will see to it that this council be allowed to elect one member amongst themselves to serve as the RMB Community Secretary, who will serve in the cabinet and be the RMB community and council’s main outlet into the government’s affairs.

I understand that work to establish a new council and improve RMB community connectivity is already underway, many thanks to the work of Aivintis and everybody else who has been actively participating in the Government Reform channel in the RMB Cafeteria. I will endeavour to speed this process up.

For the last few years, we have been proud to call ourselves a neutral region on GP-related affairs, and I will seek to continue this convention if I am elected Delegate. However, I will personally see to it that communication between the Culture Ministry and Foreign Affairs Ministry becomes vital. If I am elected, I will ensure the FA and Culture ministries are more proactive in working together to secure many more interregional events with our close friends and allies. I will speak more in-depth about this in my beautifully-decorated “Culture” section

Now onto the more dramatic stuff: we need to be taking larger strides in our Foreign Affairs policy. I have seen our region be thrown into a position where, at many times, it has been subservient to close allies. The very point of allyship is to work together, not to boss eachother around and to do eachother’s bidding. The time of status quo has ended; the time to act has arrived. If we sit around forever, doing nothing, we will fizzle out as a region. Loyalty to your allies is important, but allies who treat you like a satellite state are no allies at all. I will not tolerate zero-cooperative diplomatic policies if I am to be elected Delegate.

And now onto perhaps my most dramatic idea yet: reconciliation with the West. Yes, you read that correctly. I know it’s a dirty idea to be throwing around, or perhaps it isn’t, I’m not entirely sure. My friends in government have all been deeply quiet about such a move forward. The truth is, perhaps I’m too new to understand it, but we have since moved away from defender-dom into a hybrid system of “sometimes we raid, sometimes we don’t, other times we defend, sometimes we don’t” and this has been our form of neutrality sinceeee… 2023, I believe. Does this mean some big grand embassy opening or treaty signing? No, perhaps not. But setting the groundwork for the reopening of active diplomatic communications will be at the very forefront of my work as Delegate. I’ve always strongly believed that The East Pacific is a region that moves forward, moves on, and unites with old friends, and sometimes even former rivals, as we have done since our move towards a neutral GP stance. I am aware this could be a controversial take. I am willing to accept any and all questions or queries. Yummy yummy yummy tea.

In short:

  • More collaboration with the Culture ministry in the organisation of interregional events; both ministries need it
  • Taking our stand as an independent region and defending our regional pride
  • Laying the groundwork for reconciliation with The West Pacific; somebody was going to suggest it eventually, I figured it might as well be me! :stuck_out_tongue:

To keep things short here (as I don’t have much to say), I like how our World Assembly Affairs ministry has been revitalised since I left the office of WAA Minister in 2023. You will see little change in how it is ran if I am elected Delegate.

The IFV program will be continued under my Delegacy. Discussion and voting for regional recommendations will be continued. I don’t really have much to say on this one! I’m very proud of this Ministry and it’s one of the main areas where I’d like to see status quo. Ain’t no point in changing something if it works just fine!

This is my speciality and has been for the last two years, as many of you know.

In a ministry where burnout is so prominent, I cannot realistically make any big or broad promises here, but what I can do is set a realistic expectation of what I’d like to see come out of the ministry if I were to be elected Delegate.

As previously mentioned, the Culture and FA ministries should work closer together in terms of the organisation of interregional events or festivals. I will see to it that this becomes common practice in the establishment of such festivities in the future.

That being said, perhaps some of my most enjoyable work as Culture minister was working on interregional festivals, and I’d like to see these make a huge comeback if I am elected Delegate. Halloween festivals, winter festivals, spring festivals and summer festivals. All the festivals! Festivals are such great fun and a great way of bringing regions closer together, so in many ways you’re killing two birds with one stone.

As per our recruitment methods, more staffers will mean more people to host more things. And by things I mean things like… game nights. Interregional or just interior. Random ass VCs. Music VCs. Film nights, and the lot. A lot of the reason why I got so burnt out in my non-consecutive two years as Culture minister is purely because I didn’t have enough hands to help me with the hosting of such festivities. I will ensure this changes if I am elected Delegate. You see how all the Ministries working together makes a region work much more efficiently, right?

The military. Ohhh, the military. I’ve not much, if any, experience in the regional military but I cannot stress their importance to the region, by means of R/D gameplay. That is why they will be the very first body advertised in the means of internal recruitment. It is so important we keep the military strong and I would like to make a point of this. It is an integral part of keeping our region safe, of keeping our allies safe, and of preserving good across all of NationStates. I’ve not got much more to say except we will be making efficient use of our previously mentioned new recruitment methods to ensure the military stays strong and stays efficient.

Another incredibly important ministry, our beloved EPNS went through a massive lull this year. It happens, it is normal, and it is nobody’s fault; you will always miss a few editions and this happens almost everywhere across NationStates, with every regional news service.

However, the important bit is what to add to EPNS. I’d like to be proactive in including news from Valsora and Urth in EPNS, to greater connect our two roleplay communities and share our ongoing stories with our fellow members and indeed the rest of the world. Such beautiful and indulgent stories are produced by our roleplay communities in both Urth and Valsora, and I’d like to see them featured in our monthly EPNS articles, with their very own section, seperate from Worlds To Build (which shall continue to be our worldbuilding showcase).

Ministries shall also be given the opportunity to advertise for recruitment in EPNS. As mentioned before, EPNS does get many monthly readers, Perhaps one of the most efficient ways to recruit from our site-based manpower is in the monthly newsletter.

I will also make a point that anybody shall be able to submit an article or something else for EPNS, whether it be an opinion, an essay on Why Raiderdom Doesn’t Work Anymore (or vice versa), something to showcase for World To Build, and of course news stories from our roleplay communities.

Initially when I was planning this campaign out I was gonna have these two points seperate, but they work so well together, so I put them together!

Part of this is going to build upon previous points I’ve already made, like making our executive more accessible. But first, what can we do to make the region as a whole more accessible?

Well, I’ve already seen that there are many members of our community that are more site-focused, while others are more discord-focused, and others are more forums-focused (like those who roleplay in Urth such as myself).

However, one thing is definite: we all use the online site. And in many ways, I feel like our website-exclusive users are left out in many important decisions. Now while it may not be possible to make Delegate elections an on-site thing, I will seek to make referendums more mainstream in The East Pacific. Everybody deserves a say, and public referendums are perhaps the most efficient way to go about this. Any Resident in TEP should be able to participate in a referendum.

As previously mentioned, all of my points regarding internal recruitment, the RMB Council, and other such matters all fall into this section. I want to create a co-operative community that is dependent on everybody within it, not just one group.

If elected Delegate, I will uphold the importance of UTEP. I will gladly run it myself for a while, or leave it in the hands of the Prime Minister, if we cannot find an active Chancellor passionate enough about it. However, we still use UTEP whenever we need it. I know how much people like Aivintis enjoy writing long ass essays (Why Raiderdom Doesn’t Work Anymore: An Anthology 101) of anything and everything that goes on across NS and within the region, including everything outside and inbetween. I myself have enjoyed reading UTEP articles and wish to see them continue. UTEP will be advertised and recruiting new people if I am to be elected and I will see to it that this process works efficiently.

It may be a case of further integrating UTEP with the Ministry of Culture, or the Ministry of News. Not a full on merger, but allowing those Ministries to work together alongside the University will make it work more efficiently in the long term.

So that’s it! A whole tonne of words, a whole tonne of thought, all organised semi-neatly into my first ever campaign for Delegate.

I want to enact and incite change, progression, enthusiasm and spark new flames within The East Pacific. Having been here for over four years now, I know full well the potential that this region holds, even as a GCR. The communities which make up the East are so unique and dynamic in their own way and I’m not going to let them drift apart any longer. It’s time to act, integrate, and make everybody a part of the team. It’s time to reconcile with old friends. It’s time to move forward together.

Questions, queries and conundrums are always welcomed and, in this instance being my first Delegacy campaign, very strongly encouraged. So please! Go ham!

Lots of Love <3

What do you plan to do with the rats I intend to unleash following the conclusion of the elections? (Currently at work so I skimmed… I’ll give a proper read tonight)

Eat them. I hope that’s okay. If not then too bad. I hunger for rat meat.

Questions : )

  1. What are your thoughts on the new Recruitment bot that is getting implemented? If you don’t know, it’s meant to be more efficient and let more than one person recruit at once.
  2. Why do you not want to rely on recruitment telegrams as much? The bot makes it easy to send, and people can spend their free time doing it.
  3. How do you feel about the diplomatic mission that Lucklife has been going on? They have been reaching out to all our relations and redefining our relationship.
  4. I do agree that we need to reconcile with the West. I was trying to push for that, but it went nowhere. Do you plan on reaching out yourself, or something joint with the Foreign Affairs Minister?
  5. I love festivals. How do you plan on getting a good turnout from these festivals?
  6. I believe that EPSA needs its own recruitment. Can you think of a specific way to recruit for this part of the government?
  7. After my term, I would like to run for Minister of News. It was great working on it this last edition. I like the idea that anyone can submit an article. How do you believe vetting would work for these articles?
  8. How exactly will you make sure UTEP doesn’t fall into a lull once again?

Great campaign, quite excellent for a first one!

My main question is regarding the RMB Council - what do you plan to do with that Council once the legislated one goes into effect?

As for some quick thoughts

  • Recruiting via EPNS is probably a good idea but I’m not sure how effective it will be as claimed. To my experience the most effective thing is simply DMing newbs and asking them to join the government for X or Y reason. Advertising is good but it won’t replace one-on-one recruitment.
  • I believe we have reached out to TWP before but they declined, but I don’t think it hurts to try again.

What are your thoughts on the new Recruitment bot that is getting implemented? If you don’t know, it’s meant to be more efficient and let more than one person recruit at once.

Fully support. The more recruitment we can get out, the better, especially since practically zero active recruitment methods make our position, even as a feeder, relatively weak on the international stage. We want TEP to continue to stand out for generations of users to come.

What we have at the moment is working just fine, but if there are more efficient recruitment methods, I’m going to be instrumental in seeing them implemented. Recruitment is only going to get harder and harder for feeders as more and more frontiers get established.

Why do you not want to rely on recruitment telegrams as much? The bot makes it easy to send, and people can spend their free time doing it.

When I was talking about region-wide telegrams I meant interior ones meant for recruiting for the executive; I will not utilise these as much as they will eventually be overlooked and they won’t reach as much of the populace as intended.

How do you feel about the diplomatic mission that Lucklife has been going on? They have been reaching out to all our relations and redefining our relationship.

Again, fundamentally support. The upholding of international relations with our current allies is incredibly important to me and the region as a whole.

I do agree that we need to reconcile with the West. I was trying to push for that, but it went nowhere. Do you plan on reaching out yourself, or something joint with the Foreign Affairs Minister?

I’m aware that Western reconciliation has been attempted before. I am a fresh face, and relatively unknown across GP. We have that going for us if I were to be elected and attempted to re-establish a connection.

It would not be a rushed process; my prospective FA Minister and I will work hard together on finding an appropriate way to go about reconciliation. It may take a month, or it may take the entirety of my term; we will have to wait and see. But I do want to push for it again if I am elected; I believe as a newer member of the region and, surrounded by the right people, we may have a better chance.

I love festivals. How do you plan on getting a good turnout from these festivals?

Advertise, advertise, advertise. You know how I love a good poster. I’ll happily contribute to the Culture ministry in providing graphics and posters for such events like festivals. I also figure the more regions you have within a festival, the better. It will be a great opportunity to get to know the members of our fellow regions all at once, in big groups, and share some good times. I believe this will be more possible using my proposed methods of interior executive recruitment.

I believe that EPSA needs its own recruitment. Can you think of a specific way to recruit for this part of the government?

EPSA requires a dedicated bit of activity on-site. I think region-wide telegrams could genuinely work as an efficient way of recruitment for EPSA aside from the other methods I want to set out for interior recruitment.

I will still attempt at the aforementioned, however if that proves to be inefficient for EPSA and EPSA does indeed require its own recruitment, we will explore other methods such as region-wide telegram usage.

After my term, I would like to run for Minister of News. It was great working on it this last edition. I like the idea that anyone can submit an article. How do you believe vetting would work for these articles?

You’re absolutely right to say vetting is needed for submitted articles. The respective Minister and ministry staffers could potentially hold a vote on the Discord channel, or perhaps even in the regional forums (for accessibility), on submitted articles, similar in a way to how citizens are admitted to the Magisterium, if that makes any sense, lol.

One thing I want is I want zero Delegate involvement in the vetting of submitted articles. In terms of EPNS the Delegate’s involvement should be their monthly update and nothing else.

How exactly will you make sure UTEP doesn’t fall into a lull once again?

To be blunt with you, I can’t. From what I have personally seen, and from what evidence suggests, it’s not a hugely active part of the region. But I want it to remain open for those who wish to use it, I still find it to be incredibly important and I will be actively seeking staffers to lead certain UTEP departments and UTEP as a whole.

I was thinking maybe I could work with the prospective UTEP Chancellor in different recruitment methods for the University, similar to what you were thinking of for EPSA. Perhaps seperate recruitment could be a necessity to bring UTEP out of its lull.

Thank you! Any feedback is very much appreciated <3

What do you plan to do with that Council once the legislated one goes into effect?

That depends wholly on whichever form the legislated one takes on. I will however be proactive in the ongoing discussions and prepare the executive-established provisional council for appropriate transition into whatever is agreed upon amongst our RMB Community and therefore the legislature.

Recruiting via EPNS is probably a good idea but I’m not sure how effective it will be as claimed. To my experience the most effective thing is simply DMing newbs and asking them to join the government for X or Y reason. Advertising is good but it won’t replace one-on-one recruitment.

I wanted to answer your quick thoughts here, too. My intention isn’t to completely replace one-on-one recruitment, it works just fine. But expanding our scopes and really putting it out there that we’re looking to hire fore the government will give us more of a chance to bring in a wider pool of newcomers.

I believe we have reached out to TWP before but they declined, but I don’t think it hurts to try again.

Yes, I believe we have. I’m not ignorant to that, but I believe it was a while ago. I agree that reconciliation is entirely down to if TWP truly wants it or not. However, I am still going to attempt, and as mentioned to Dead above, I will work alongside whoever is appointed as FA Minister to oversee the necessary steps and potential caution that we need to take in order to oversee the process fully. Even if the final response is once again “no”, we will at least be able to fully grasp where TWP stands with us, if they allow this disdain to continue.

However, I do believe that myself, an arguably new and, I’d say, emerging figure in the region could potentially give us a better chance. That sounds a lot like tooting my own horn, maybe it is, but people and communities change a lot over time. What matters is the institutions and the groups in control of them.

Dead can properly clarify but I’m not sure one-to-one recruitment has been happening regularly, it usually isn’t.

Not saying advertisement is a bad thing, though.

I can totally see to it that more one-on-one recruitment is being done at an increased rate. Perhaps it may also be the most efficient method for EPSA recruitment too. I’ll try anything. Mainly however, I want to advertise on the RMB, on EPNS, and on the regional Discords, including the RMB cafeteria.

Region-wide telegrams in respect of recruiting to government ministries is okay, but most of the time people have such telegrams blocked so we’d be recruiting little to no people, and if you’re sending out recruitment telegrams for the government every other week or so, they’ll start being overlooked and at that rate you’ll never recruit anybody.

Recruitment is a big issue. A big, big, big issue, and we need to nip it in the bud.

I wont lie - I didnt read campaigns yet.

I have one question tho:

  1. How will you bring activity back to TEP?

Hi Libertanny!

Two words: culture and roleplay. I want to bring more prominence to Valsora and Urth, and EPNS is a great outlet to do this. Governmental representation for our RMB Community will also attract new people not only to get involved in the government, but also get involved in our community in general. I dislike how our roleplays are always so concealed behind a hyperlink or a forum link. It’s time to bring them to the forefront.

A great focus on the Culture Ministry will also be a main focus of my Delegacy. Running the ministry for two years with little to no help from staffers have proven difficult, I was blessed with having a Delegate who shared this enthusiasm for culture. I will work wholeheartedly and efficiently with the culture minister to bring more cultural events to TEP, including ones (you could argue, especially ones) that aren’t so Discord-heavy.

As mentioned in my campaign - all the festivals! Especially ones with our friends. This is the best way we can really plant the seeds for greater activity across TEP. Recruitment campaigns to the Culture ministry, to ensure more events can be efficiently staffed, will be undertaken. These are all outlined in my campaign. The main issue of my tenure as Culture minister is that it was always ever just me running the shop, with a select few being able to do the odd Hunger Games hosting here and there, so the burnout is real. With more hands on deck, the ministry will become more active, and therefore there will be more cultural events, therefore sparking more activity within the region.

How will your delegacy affect me being the Supreme Leader of TEP

It won’t. All hail Supreme Leader Gio.

Solid, solid campaign, worth a former Vice-Delegate and soon-to-become-if-not-yet Legend of TEP™. It’s been a while since I don’t ask any questions, and some of them might have been already asked, but here you go. This is intentional so I highlight the main aspects that have caught my attention:

  • One thing is to recruit people, another is to keep them in the region. Some people call it “outreach”, use the term you wish. I consider the latter to be an indivisible part of recruitment, and one we’ve neglected the most in the past four years: sometimes, like now, we get waves of new people, but they just end up leaving after some time. I tried to fix this as Minister of Outreach a while ago, and failed due to a RL lack of free time. What do you think that causes this phenomenon? How would you approach this issue as a Delegate?
  • On the RMB Council’s topic, what I understand about your proposal is that you would encourage no government representation whatsoever. I consider this view a large drawback in a body that is meant to be a bridge between the RMB and its demands and the government and their legal and governance expertise. How would you envision the relation between the RMB Council and the Government in that scenario, other than the RMB representative you propose (which already failed to accomplish the intended targets some years ago).
  • More of a personal thought here, I don’t think we’ve been more aligned with defenderdom in any point of the recent past. And on TWP, the root issues with them aren’t related to R/D, so how would you tackle the other problematic topics in our relation with them? Don’t get me wrong here, I read those lines with hope, I do think things have changed sufficiently since 2020, at least partially.
  • My understanding of your “news from RP” proposal is to create two different EPNS sections, one for RPs and one for worldbuilding right?
  • There is a fact to state here: the RMB and Valsora are recruiting way more efficiently than Urth. While the RMB has a constant flux of new people, who renew the activity of those who eventually leave, Urth people do not necessarily leave, but very, very few people join in a meaningful manner, which has been happening for the past couple of years. Some days ago we pointed to a handful of reasons as for why this is happening. What do you think about it, what do you think the reasons for this are, and how do you intend to tackle this unbalance, so both Valsora and Urth enjoy thriving levels of activity?
  • Grand Vizier question here: what do you think of regular VCs or a specific Discord channel between the government’s branch leaders (Provost, GV, Viceroy and Delegate) dedicated to coordinate our actions, procedures and the general TEP state of things?

Looking forward to your answers :sparkles: .

Refer to message I posted in AMOM’s campaign thread because it applies here

You flatter me Sammy! Thank you for your very sweet comments, they are always appreciated <3

Now, onto your questions!

What do you think that causes this phenomenon? How would you approach this issue as a Delegate?

Keeping people in is wholly dependent on what the regional community has to offer. It’s sort of a trickle-down effect. For instance, if you have little to no cultural events, people lose interest. If you don’t have a functioning roleplay, people will lose interest. If you don’t have a government where people feel they can actively participate, people will lose interest. I suppose in a sense I learned this the hard way when I attempted to establish Amaranth three years ago.

We offer all of these services, but a few have died over the last few years, and I pin this down mainly due to our internal recruitment. You can keep people in by keeping them interested in jobs, events, roleplays, etc. Mainly jobs. Because with jobs, peeps are actively contributing to the region’s progression. There are various ministries that faultered within the last few years due to inactive ministers and little to no staffers, such as the News Ministry and Culture Ministry, Culture being massively important. Like I said, Culture is not a one person job, and I got caught up in the burnout incredibly quickly, and in turn this led to less events which in turn led to less participation. I suppose what I’m trying to say is that there’s no one primary factor to keeping people in. A regional government needs to multitask in order to prevent losing dedicated members that could go on to do great things in TEP.

How would you envision the relation between the RMB Council and the Government in that scenario, other than the RMB representative you propose (which already failed to accomplish the intended targets some years ago).

Having government members involved in the RMB Council would defeat its purpose entirely. It’s supposed to be wholly representative of our RMB Community, which, after I personally questioned in the Government Reform channel, feels as if it has been heavily neglected by its government for the last few years - a strong “us vs. them” sentiment. Allowing sitting ministers to also sit in the RMB Council wouldn’t be wholly representative of the RMB Community at all, in my opinion. That is why the elected RMB representative that sits in the cabinet is so important.

How would you tackle the other problematic topics in our relation with them? Don’t get me wrong here, I read those lines with hope, I do think things have changed sufficiently since 2020, at least partially.

I suppose with TWP it’s somewhat fluid. You also need to consider the people that are around; I can guarantee you there’s still a lot of prominent members here who they don’t like, and a lot of prominent members there that we don’t like. I do intend to surround myself with fresher faces in TEP when it comes to government to start making the moves to show that we have moved on. Quite a lot of it can rely on optics, but of course the deeper-down stuff is the most essential. And I agree, we haven’t been aligned with defenderdom; we’ve upheld being neutral and this has been the case since 2023. There’s no reason why significant (baby) steps can’t be taken in attempting to re-open active communications with TWP and maybe, and I say only maybe because I don’t want to set unrealistic expectations, allowing East and West to prosper as friends once again in the future.

My understanding of your “news from RP” proposal is to create two different EPNS sections, one for RPs and one for worldbuilding right?

Correct. Worlds to Build and RP can be two different things. I speak from experience, when I say Shimajiro (on Urth) and Cappedore (on NSGP) are two entirely different things. Cappedore for instance is an active worldbuilding project of mine, while Shimajiro exists in the canon of our forum RP. And while it can be argued there are so many worldbuilding aspects from both Valsora and Urth that can be featured in WTB, and I’d like to see this continued, I’m talking more about active news happenings in-RP that can be reported on in EPNS. Take what I post in Shimajiro Today for instance, or the crazy happenings of whatever goes on in Em’s Limboese Republic. Whereas Cappedore, I’d probably show off a new map or a new clause in the covenant and see how people respond to that.

What do you think about it, what do you think the reasons for this are, and how do you intend to tackle this unbalance, so both Valsora and Urth enjoy thriving levels of activity?

I love Urth, and perhaps I am a bit biased as I’ve always been more of an Urth guy than a Valsora guy. The truth is, Urth’s existence on the forums makes it a little less accessible than just… roleplay on the RMB. There are plenty of people in TEP who really don’t like using the regional forums, and that was evidenced by the discussions I had in (ironically enough) the RMB Cafeteria’s Government Reform channel.

I already mentioned EPNS recruitment, and I’d like to apply it in this scenario as well. But sometimes one-to-one recruitment, such as directly informing those interested in worldbuilding and roleplaying in-depth via NS telegram or Discord DM about Urth’s existence and what it has to offer can also help. I think if I were to be elected, one of the very first things I’d do is run a survey to find out who in the region is most interested in worldbuilding and roleplaying and seeing if we can perhaps improve activity that way by contacting respondents and letting them know of the rewarding aspects of roleplay in this community. I’d love to see activity on Urth picked up, there’s so much potential there.

What do you think of regular VCs or a specific Discord channel between the government’s branch leaders (Provost, GV, Viceroy and Delegate) dedicated to coordinate our actions, procedures and the general TEP state of things?

I think that’s a great idea. It provides that additional layer of communication between government branch leaders as a way of setting agendas and seeing where everybody’s at. I’d also like to apply the same concept to the cabinet. The frequency of such VCs / meetings are a bit sticky at the moment, I’ve seen the idea of weekly or biweekly or monthly thrown around. I think pooling ideas at the very beginning for the respective people involved to get a grasp of everybody’s availability would be helpful, and I will endeavour to lead it as Delegate.

Thanks for your questions Sammy!
