Two, June’s issue of The Augury released today! This is how we will keep you up to date on things happening on our side of the border. Peek inside! Augury 0620 | PDF

P.S. This issue has a really cool recipe in it for Tako Tuesday, if you guys are foodies. Happy Tuesday!

Hey hey TEP!  Karma’s Augury will come out in the few weeks, which would serve as our normal update, but we’ve had a few big things go on that we wanted to update you on in the mean time!

During the last month in Karma…

-The Sangha passed legislation increasing the requirements for Enlightenment. All nations in Karma are considered Jiva (or citizens), but Enlightenment is a kind of elevated citizenship which earns our Jiva a place in the legislature (Sangha) and the right to govern the region. Enlightenment has been legislated now to encourage Jiva to participate in a government department as a working member before they take on the task of joining our governing body. Currently, to be granted a Bodhi (a task, the completion of which results in Enlightenment) our residents need to find a Sponsor in a Sage, Guru (head of the department) with whom they work, or head of the legislature. It is hoped that this change will drive governmental involvement and give a tool for the public officials to push promising citizens into the higher positions.
All in the interest of Meritocracy \o/

-Experience proves that sometimes you need a blazing rock to fall from the sky to put things right. Or maybe this applies only to the rp… In any case, Karma’s RP was sent back to the middle ages with a meteor impact.
But this was not the end of all civilization in Karma. We’re quite sturdy folk ^.^ Set 600 years after the impact, medieval tech Karma RP is all focused on the civilization slowly rebuilding itself from the catastrophe. Players can explore the remnants of the old world (and find their neighbors along the way!) via the expeditions mechanics.

-Thanks to the combination of various tarting schemes (and because we moved all of our extra puppets out of the region), we’re (as of writing this) 6th region in the world in average World Assembly endorsements. Our Delegate is leading way in the tarting ofc, Takura has so far acquired 142 endorsements, a Karma’s record for endorsements on the delegate. We’re working hard to stay WA minded and increase our presence there.

That’s it for our quick-ish update! Stay tuned for The Augury in coming weeks. Thanks!

Happy midnight, TEP! July’s issue of The Augury is out, complete with a cook-off section, if you’re hungry, and the latest Ask Someone Else segment if you need some (bad) advice. Here you go!

Since we all like tl;drs, though, here are the highlights:
• The Sangha passed some new rules for Enlightenment. We’ve already told you guys about this, but pretty much to earn your way into power in Karma you now LEGALLY have to have people already feel that you’ve contributed to the region. Socially Karma has always been meritocratic, and legally we’ve always identified ourselves as meritocratic, but this is the first legal step we’ve taken to ensure meritocracy. Pretty exciting.
• While you weren’t looking, Karma grew a judiciary. Historically judicial decisions have been treated the same as administrative decisions and the Sages dealt with anything that could be considered a crime. Now we’ve established a Karmaphala consisting of 1 supreme judge and 2 lesser judges to interpret law and try cases in Karma. In our endeavor to maintain ourselves as a place of learning, Karma now offers another way to learn! Woo!
• Karma recently held a week-long murder mystery adventure. Together with Jiva (and diplomats/visitors who felt like playing too) everyone spent days investigating, sneaking around, and grilling potential suspects to figure out who murdered our precious Yogi Bean! It was me. I did it. Evil owl. >:3
• Extras: Paul does the second installment of his law review bc he INSISTS that you are educated on the rules that bind (and protect) you, Elsa gives bad advice to a pun obsessed Karma in Ask Someone Else, Fuzz gives us a new life lesson, and Emi, Taki, and Gale battle it out to become Karma’s new Queen of Cooking.

Also not covered in the Augury: Karma’s Osho and Bikkhus of the Karmaphala have now been announced. Congrats to Osho Soup and Bikkhus Bean and Vilv.

Please don’t make fun of us for having to many food and animal based players in our region. Thank you. :>
