If you allow me to be nitpicky for a moment, I’ll share my opinion on this. It is all well that everyone jumps on this idea, but I think instead of some nonsensical random names we should give them names that are based on some latin or greek word, considering that all the continents have either latin (Africa, America, Australia, Antarctica) or greek (Europa, Asia, Arctic) names. That would be more consistent with real world practices.
Wow, a map was already made. That’s quick. My only comment is that I feel that the Pacifia’s and Pasifika sound a bit too similar.
The Latin/Greek based names sounds like a good idea too.
I can change the writings on the map at any time, so if anyone has ideas for the greek/latin names (I can’t help there as I do not know any of these languages) let’s hear them. I think it’s a good idea.

Now, some are Latin and some are Greek, and yes, there are a lot of them.
Hmm, I see Italia.
hmm, Tirilea Gulf, not sure about it. Its not even a gulf since it streches down to me.
OK, here’s my idea.
The red one should be named after a female greek mythological person. My suggestions include Antheia (greek goddess of flowers), Aglaea (“shining one”, one of the three graces), Aletheia (Truth), Astraea (“star maiden”, often associated with justice) and Aura (Breeze).
For the purple I would suggest Coronia from the latin word corona wich means crown as it reminded me of a crown sitting on top of the red one.
For the blue ones I would suggest North and South Insulia after the latin word insula which means island.
For either the yellow or the green I suggest Aurora who was the roman goddess of dawn, which would be appropriate for the easternmost contient. The other could be called Ianica from the latin word ianua which means door.
Oh, nice ones! I like the Astraea the best I think. Though I like all of them except Insulia - sounds too much like insulin.

Oops! I posted the names in the wrong places. Didn’t realize until you said something.
Pink Stripes=Grananthon Channel
Red Stripes=Tirilea Gulf
I personally like Cerycia or Aglaea for the pink continent. ![]()
In Kandorese history the entire Island where Kandorith is, was mostly called Kathoreia (Places of Wealth/Blue)
But to think of a continent name… hmm
Since the colour is green, why not Midori, which is Japanese for green, but also has a connection with nature, serenity and calmth.
Just a thought.
The word could ofcourse also be altered, twisted and turned, but my mind is suffering from exhaustion thus not able to think of something clever.

Or insulation… sort of.
Astraea is pretty good, but since it’s named after a Greek God, maybe something Latin-sounding instead?
Antheia sounds very nice.
Hm…Here are some names, some Greek and some Latin, although there maybe a few others from other languages.
Kalani: Hawaiian for ‘the heavens’
Miku: Japanese for ‘beauiful sky’
Adhara: Arabic for ‘maidens’, and is the name of the second brightest star in the Canis Major constellation
Sirius: the brightest star in Canis Major, and means ‘burning’
Citlali: Native American for star in the Nahuatl
Izar: means ‘star’ in Basque
Ulloriaq: Means ‘star’ in Greenlandic

Boy that’s a lot of names. ![]()
would it not be also a wise idea, to name the 4 oceans that are at the edge of the map? I am also assuming that the water in lightblue islands, will have same name as the island continent.
Wouldn’t the ocean(s) on the edges be the Pacific?
possibly, have not really tought of what they are.
Arcevaea sounds pretty nice for a continent.
could always give green continent a asian sounding name.
Limes is a “border” in Latin. Possibly we could name the yellow/green one “Limera”, or something similar?
Anyway, any propositions for the exact names for the exact continents?
