Historical Summary:

Before there was Corseau, there was the Aurelianum. In the 9th century, the port city of Aubergenoit was founded on the grounds of the Aurelian city of Adramyttium , and it became the trading center of what would become Corseau. Many of the leaders of Aubergenoit invested in the development of the city, until it eventually became one of the more powerful cities in the area. In 1439, the Principality of Corseau was founded and named after Prince Cornelius, who (forcefully!) unified most of what is modern Corseau.

The current traditions of modern Corseau could be attributed to the Ethalrian nobility who influenced Corstesian court culture. In the 16th century, Prince Guillaume, found infirm, had transferred his power to his influential Ethalrian wife: Constancia von Riven, who set the foundation for the matrilineal monarchy Corseau is today.

Corseau is known for preserving its historical architecture and its court intrigue, both its modern and historical court have been the subject of dramas around Urth.

It is also known for its refusal to progress into a semi-constitutional or constitutional monarchy, being one of the few absolute monarchies on the continent of Aurora.

One of Corseau’s most famous landmarks is the Von Eisenlach International Academy, a boarding school located on the outskirts of Hallenstedt known for its selectiveness and notable alumni.
