It has been noted that rifles and ammunition have been stolen from Ostrom Military HQ. The Secretary of Defense shall be working with the Departments of Law and Order across the country. Report any suspicous activity to your local patrol. Keep yourselves safe and aware.

Further Updates to follow when we are told more.

Durakia applies for the UCA.

After a 72-26 vote with 22 abstains, the propasal by Adley has passed in both the DRC and the Council of Trade Unions. It is expected that Durakia shall be joining the Union of Commonwealth Alliances soon, after the paperwork is signed off on. This seems to be a big push to the “New Durakia Plan” that Adley has promised in the upcoming elections.

Durakia sends 4k troops in support of UCA

Following a declaration of support for Norgsveldet in sending forces to South Arcturia, Durakia has sent over 2k men to both Lokania and South Peragen to assist the UCA forces present. The Lokainian Group shall be led by Arkian Civil War Veteran Alexander Ruhm while the group semt to South Peregan shall be led by Karl Andrev, who organised and led Durakan Volunteers in the Meagharian Civil War. Durakia has reiterated the statements made by Norgsveldet and cited the defiance of the NSTO no fly zone as justifiication for these precautions. Durakia has also stated its wish for a peaceful solution, yet its willingness to fight for the UCA should this issue not be resolved.

Miner’s Revolutionary Armed Corps increases support sent to Acturia.

In a statement released by the Secretary of Defense, Durakia’s armed forces have stated their intentions for the illegal treaty forced upon its UCA ally of Puntalia.

“Durakia stands by Norgsveldet and the UCA in the defense of Puntalia. We shall be sending an additional five thousand troope to Lokania and South Peragén, with 14 thousand Durakan troops in Arcturia. We have also deployed the MRM Stirn and MRM Andrev, two of our prized submarines to assist Norgsveldet’s navy. We are not looking for war, and hope this may be resolved with the peaceful exit of Rufuinia from Puntalia. We would like to make it known to the people of Durakia and the world that we shall stand together with Puntalia, the UCA, the LN and any other nation or group of nations that wish to see this injustice end. Liberty, Equality, Unity!”

Controversy over Kuthern Allegations

Yesterday a speech made by Queen Naomi II of the Kingdom of Kutherburg brought the ire of Durakan politicians following her allegation of Human Rights abuses in our nation.

“The Miners’ Republic of Durakia has scored consistently above 8.8 on the Democracy Index. We have the rights to food, to water, to housing, to health and to a vote for anyone over 17 not serving a prison sentence. We have freedom of speech, of assembly, of religion and of press in the founding document of this Republic. We are one of the most diverse countries in our region and wear that badge with pride. We have strived for so long to be a nation where all are free and have been given all that they may need to work to their potential. We did not enshrine these rights and liberties in the Constitution of 1937 to have them unrightfully challenged by a nation the other side of the continent to us. Should the LN wish to investigate us, I will welcome them and show them that we are a nation that protects the rights of all our people, not only because we are an open nation, but to stop out-of-touch monarchs across the continent from accusing us of violating rights we have constitutionally entrenched.” stated Union Leader Tarov Hyla on the matter.

Direklieter Adley stated his “Disappointment in such a sentiment given on an otherwise amicable speech” and has stated his willingness to discuss this further with a representative of Kuthernburg to “Better understand  where such a miscommunication has been reached”, although this wish to enter talks has been denounced by Hyla’s DWP, with Welfare Union Representative Freida Yektsov stating: “If the East wishes to lecture us on sapient rights, allow them to do so. It is not our job to resolve their ignorance.”

Many are wondering why such allegations were given to the nation, with the Pigeon hashtag #NaomiDidn’tCallForRightsHere trending in Durakia, attached with articles on Gransrik and Alyunthia. The caption was also given to an image of a public execution via hanging in Luterdorf, Gransrik and spread on the messaging site 5san following the speech.

At around 10:25pm on the 11th, Direklieter Horis Kolesov Adley began to suffer what has been reported to be an Intracerebral Hemorrhage whilst working in his office in Wesnov.

The Direklieter had been known to show signs of extreme stress and a devotion to work and his country dominating over most aspects of his life, according to sources close to him.

Medical Reports from the Wesnov Peoples’ Hospital have not been released formally to the public due to the laws on confidentiality, though it is suspected Adley had been suffering from High Blood Pressure for the past few months which he had elected to keep as a private matter in an effort to not worry the public.

After paging his Secretary at 10:27pm, Adley reportadly collapsed upon his desk, found by paramedics to have been bleeding from his right ear and likely collapsing from a combination of the effects of the stroke and from shock.

At 5:43am, following attempts to save his life at Wesnov Peoples’ Hospital, the call was made that the medical staff would be unable to save Adley. He was pronounced dead at 7:43am, spending his last moments, as he had requested, with his wife, Hilda.

Organizations for a state funeral have begun, with a date scheduled for 23/7 (July 10th International Time), upon the request of the late Direklieter to be given a more private ceremony with his family and friends before a state funeral. It is expected that dignitariers from foreign nations will be invited to join us on this day to pay respects to the man who died in service to his people.

Relating to this, an emergency meeting of the Durakan Revolutionary Council will be conducted in order to form an emergency administration to execute the proccedure for the line of succession in the Constitution. More on this in the future as we hear more.

Antonov pulls out of Puntalia Compromise Treaty, states it fails to provide for the Puntalian People

After tense discussions within the Council of Trade Unions, Direklieter Klarissa Antonov has made clear Durakia will be withdrawing from the Puntalia Compromise Treaty alongside Alksearia, Axdel and Norgsveldet. After Hertov Adley became a controversial member of the  PCT Summit in Sani Bursil due to the continual wild accusations of ‘communist plotting’ made by Rodenia, he made a motion to add a mechanism to reunify Puntalia if there is popular support to do so under an annual summit to discuss reunification.

In spite of this, no such measures were added to the treaty or taken outside of it, and the situation in Southern Arcturia has seen no signs of improving. Instead, Puntalia remains split into two pieces without any hope of a unified Puntalian nation whilst Rodenia continues to act as if a global communist conspiracy rests behind their continued failings as a country.

With all of this in mind, the Council of Trade Unions reaffirmed Direklieter Antonov’s decision to withdraw from the treaty and end Durakia’s recognition of the New Republic of Puntalia without discussion with the Puntalian Cooperation Council. Notably, around a third of the Democratic Worker’s Party refused to vote alongside the Durakan Liberty Party and Irnac Autonomy Party in voting against, despite Union Council Leader Tarov Hyla stating that Antonov’s proposal was “rushed” and “likely to cause more issues and resolve none.”

It is expected they shall not be removed from the party for this, however, as Hyla later stated his acceptance of the controversy of the decision and did not blame any party members who “chose to take a solution which most directly shows our sentiments to Rodenia, in spite of the misgivings I have of it.” Some wonder if this reluctance to enforce the party line is a sign of instability in Hyla’s position as Party Leader, however others argue it is natural given the difficulty of advocating a Pro-MBE foreign policy whilst acknowledging the Morstaybishlian failure that was the Puntalia Compromise Treaty. As of now, no member of the DWP has attempted to challenge Hyla for the leadership, and Hyla has made clear that while he disagrees with the way in which Antonov has gone about this, he does disagree with the current situation in Puntalia and believes something must change if South Arcturia is going to cooperate, pointing to his earlier agreement with the anti-fascist statements made by the socialist Popular Charter Revolutionary Alliance Government in Quariin.
