Greetings TEP. My name is Valoniah, and I am the new Emissary to TEP from 10000 Islands. I have been in the Nation-states since 2008, and a citizen the Islands most o that time. I am a TITO Knight, and involved with the regional politics, as well as emissary to several smaller regions. I am glad to be here and get to know you all. Here’s our latest report from the islands.

In June, ProBoards upgraded the forum and this caused a great deal of upheaval to our home board. As it stands now, most of the issues have been resolved. The Awards system, Taco system and shop have yet to be restored. However, Founder Grub is hard at work on these issues and we anticipate that the forum will be restored within a relatively short period of time.

No elections were held in June. In July, the Senate seats of Himes West and Lyonesse East will be up for grabs.

[li] TITO Battles in June included: Quebec, Band Camp.
[li] There were several changes to TITO Command in June. Improving Wordiness has moved on and her replacement is the very capable Land Filled with People.
[li] Tactical Officers Eist and Boltor, as well as XO Ad Infinitum have stepped aside and have been replaced by T.O. Benevolent Thomas and XO Kanaia.
[li] We should take a moment to remember the service of Wordy, who led TITO through some of its finest hours, including the recent liberation of The South Pacific.
[li] We should also take a moment to remember the contributions of Bolt, Eist, and PAI. To paraphrase a great leader of the last century: Never has so much been owed by so many to so few.
[li] Last, As Senior Senator, I want to convey my fondest and most sincere wishes of good luck to Field Commander Land Filled With People, Tactical Officer Benevolent Thomas, and Executive Officer Kanaia. Public Service, whether as Delegate, a Senator, a Minister, or a TITO Command Officer is oft times very burdensome. Many do not realize the demands placed on those who serve in these posts. This is particularly true of TITO staff. While Senators have the tri-annual challenge of running for office, TITO staff and the decisions they make are a direct reflection on the Islands and on our claim as the “Finest Fighting Force in Nation States.” So please join me in wishing all three of our new officers the very best in the challenges they will be facing.

In July, elections were held for the Lyonesse East and Himes West Senate Seats.

No elections were held in August.

Malecia has been named the new TITO XO after Kanaia stepped down.
3LiT3 has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, great work!
Maghere, HumanSanity and Kanta Hamehave been awarded the TITO QRF (Quick Reaction Force) Pin, well done!
Boltor has gained his 350th Battlestar and has been named Knight Armada Commander.
MinnaCaroline has gained her 300th Battlestar and has been named Knight Legion Commander.
Eist has gained his 250th Battlestar and has been named Knight Marshall Commander.
Escanaba has gained his 150th Battlestar and has been named Knight Battalion Commander.
Taco Island
WW 27 concluded with a victory by the Villagers, despite the rules that kept the villagers isolated (no army building by the Elder). WW 28 took place on Taco Island. This rendition was modeled on the Gunfight at the OK Corral at Tombstone, AZ. The good guys won. WW 29 is currently underway on the Island. Results will be posted next month.

Our New Republica South Senator, Tsim, had a baby daughter, so at least we know someone’s been getting some around here, married men, am I right! … ahem. Moving on, there is a discussion in the Council of 9 on renaming Taco Island to “Shelter’s Taco Island”, in honor of our recently passed Mayor of Taco Island, Shelter from the Storm.

You think those hobbits could look after themselves… Aersoldorf received his 100th battle star, and has thus been promoted to the rank of TITO Knightt Commander. As is tradition here in the Islands, we ripped off the the arm of the invader lead from his 100th mission and mounted above his door.

There were no elections in December. Minister of Education Markanite stepped down. His position on the Council of nine will be filled by Randomain. Randomain brings a lot of experience to the table. He is the current cartographer and has served on the 9 before as a senator.

We are proud to announce that TITO has successfully completed is 2000th defense! To think we foiled the same two dozen @ssholes living in their moms basements covered in Dorito dust, tears, semen, pimples, and broken dreams, that many times over. You would think they would have given up by now…
We’d like to welcome TITO’s newest member, Ardreas. He joins a fine tradition of honor and invader slaying.
Taco Island
The threads of Taco island continue to grow. The “LAST PERSON TO POAT WINS!” thread is back on page one, with an amazing 41,007 posts. That’s a lot of spam right there folks. There is another friendly competition between houses, this time the goal is to out spam the competition.

April was a slow month at TITO, having only a handful of battles including South Pacific DM, Scotland and The LoKanoa Nations.
Paffinia completed his 150th mission, earning the right to the called a Knight Battalion Commander.

In the role-play section, there have been discussions to replace the current map in use, as well as a new way of calculating one’s armed forces for warfare. On Mayor Shelter’s Taco Island, Werewolves 35 appears to be slowing down. We expect the game to be finished within a week or two. Also, there is a game of Resistance, in its seventh edition. Finally, there is a future New Flag competition; many nations are expected to display their creative flags for the competition!

Political Events:
During May, there are elections for the New Republica South and Blue Canaria North Senate seats. In the New Republica South seat, we saw Tsim Sha Tsui decide not to run for his previous position. Paffnia, representing the Mayor Sheltor Political Party, and The Candy Lane, an independent, both went in the running for this seat. In the end, Paffnia was elected with a vote of 35-15. Meanwhile, in Blue Canaria North, incumbent senator Duckyian Empire ran against Ater Nox. In this seat, Ater Nox was elected with a vote of 35-13. Congratulations to our two new senators, and commiserations to those who were not elected.

Thanks to Grub, the forum has a few new updates. Firstly, forum levels have returned, showing how many posts each member has made. Secondly, some more colours have been added to the forum, with posts made within the last 24 and 48 hours now have colourful timestamps. Lastly, users can now roll dice in their posts. Shelter’s Taco Island residents quickly took to this, with new threads such as “If you roll a 10, you gain immortality” and “Dice-Aided Count to 1000” popping up within hours of the new feature.
We have recently opened a new embassy with Wysteria. The Candy Land has been chosen as our ambassador to Wysteria and has already made the long trip there.

It was another quiet month for TITO, with six successful missions over the month.
Around the Islands
Werewolf 35:‘And Now for something Completely Different’ come to an end with a victory for the nasty wolves. Congratulations Tierra de Madre and Echolilia! It wasn’t long before WW36:‘Vault 48’ was started with the villagers determined not to eaten this time. This game is being run by Shizensky, and has a Fallout theme.
Two resistance games were also completed. In Resistance 7, spies Randomain and Ater Nox walked themselves to an easy victory. Then, in Resistance 8, spies Barry and Ater Nox were defeated at the very last minute by what can only be described as a lucky guess by Aersoldorf, as both Barry and Ater Nox were utterly superb spies. This is only the second game won by the resistance team, so there was much rejoicing by the citizens of Shelter’s Taco Island.

A group of 10000 Islands citizens travelled overseas on a trip to our allies in Canada. Everyone had a great time, even if the weather was a little cooler there than our usual tropical climate. Thanks for letting us visit Canada!
And last, but not least, The Mad Islander has returned! The Mad Islander is the 10000 Islands regional magazine, and had previously faded into inactivity. Delegate Benevolent Thomas restarted the magazine and within days had over a dozen staff members and more than 300,000 tacos in donations.
