The College of Equilism
Congratulations again to Restored Othalla! He is Equilism’s new Lord Chancellor! More about that can be found in the Special (election) Update which is posted in the Embassy.

The Oath of Office taken by Restored Othalla:

Shortly after the Cabinet-announcement, Westwind signed his approval.

  • The Military Liaison Pact with Jethnea is being voted on.
  • A possible treaty with The Pacific
  • Equilism’s future with regard to its membership of the ADN. It is expected that a vote about this matter will be held shortly.

Elections for the Chancellor of the Realm
The Chancellor of the Realm is Equilism’s UN Delegate. The position is separate from any government position. Registered candidates will have to lobby for endorsements.

Bar & Games
Instruments, Cybernations, age, Chauce’s prestigious award and dying puppets are dominating The Bar.

Meanwhile, the usual games are popular and Equilism continues its new passion for quizzes. However, I do dount that RO’s “1000 posts in 2 months”-thread will actually achieve its goal…

Role Playing & Main Street
”Who will post last?” has turned into a full-scale battle scene with posters trying to, sometimes violently, overtake each other on bikes, carpets, lunar rovers, etc…. Tycholand’s flying carpet is causing a big headache for the participants, but rumours have it that Tycholand has been pulled-over by the police for flying an unregistered carpet…

In Main Street, Wagger-tribe has opened a Tourist Information office. This is the place for when you need a friendly face to guide you around in Main Street. Promoting your company at the Tourist Office by means of leaflets is also possible.

Equiliants are back!
The Equiliants are back! With the posting of topics and replies, it is possible to earn CASH EQUILIANTS on the forum, which can be spent at the Store! Credit goes to Tse Moana for re-starting this system!

”The last one wins” remains a battle-scene, with various people fighting to maintain their recently-gained leading-position, only to lose it to someone else an hour later… In any case, magic carpets have been banned by thread-creator Ellezelles.

Wagger-tribe submitted a request for an Inquisition against Tycholand, accusing him of cheating to win “who will post last?”. High Templar Astarial has dismissed the case.

The Merlion has opened a “Privatised Prison System” where people can be held in cells and also tortured. First inmate? Tycholand, who has been accused of eating kiddies and is now being tortured…
Borealium has opened a thread about his bustling metropolis, Faireport, providing interesting details about this city.

Equilism Winter Olympics

Foreign Affairs is looking at closing relations with several regions. Relations with The South Pacific have started officially.

Military Affairs
E-Army soldiers were spotted drinking working at home: their task was to ensure a smooth Delegacy-transfer from Westwind to Wagger-tribe.

The College of Equilism

  • The ADN-vote has been suspended, pending a vote on Westwind’s new plan (which in its turn has been suspended due to new Director-elections).
  • The Treaty with the Pacific has been voted on, with the result being 5-4-2 (aye, nay, abstain). However, this does not meet the required 2/3 majority in the yet-to-be ratified Laws & Procedures of the College of Equilism-law.
  • Tse Moana has posted a new draft of the College Law and Procedure, titled Laws & Procedures of the College of Equilism
  • Closer cooperation with the Founderless Regions Alliance (FRA) are still on the College’s agenda.

UN-voting
Equilism voted 5-1-1 (aye, nay, abstain) for the repeal of “Hydrogen Powered Vehicles”. This is the first resolution-vote under our new Delegate/Chancellor of the Realm, Wagger-tribe.

Bar & Games
Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus – or “Happy St. David’s Day” to all Welsh-people out there! Buffeytown took this opportunity to start a “What does it mean to be Welsh?” thread.

The usual games are still popular.

Role Playing & Main Street
The Inquisition-request against Tycholand (accused of child-eating) has been dismissed due to a lack of response from Restored Othalla.

Meanwhile, all kinds of arms-fire can be heard from the “who will post last?”-thread as people strive to be the first – at all costs. Magic carpets and invisibility cloaks have been banned. This means that Tycholand can no longer fly on his magic carpet that has irritated numerous participants in the past. (He now continuously zooms into the lead in an Aurora (aircraft) - Wikipedia).

In other RP-happenings, Borealium is trying to establish his place in Equilism and Tycholand has started a topic about Ambassador Island’s (a spot on the Equilism map) function.

In Main Street, Merl’s Live Band Pub is full of customers – including the Monarch himself and singers such as Tse Moana and K’Lach!

Foreign Affairs has just re-opened relations with the British Overseas Territory, a member-region of the FCSTO.
Just a reminder, there is a Diplomatic Training Course in Equilism’s University. The course teaches the basics of diplomacy and the Ambassadorship. The course is not only open to Equilismers, but also to all our friends across the NationStates world. Military Affairs
E-Army soldiers are still out there, defending and liberating regions across the NationStates world. Meanwhile, Military Chancellor The Merlion has been doing some Spring Cleaning in the E-Army. 

The College of Equilism

  • The Confederacy of Free Regions (COFR) has put forth an alliance proposal, which was discussed in the College. However, Equilism wants to exchange Embassies only at this moment.
  • Equilism will not become a member-region of the Founderless Regions Alliance at this moment.
  • The ADN discussion still continues. Voting on a possible withdraw from the alliance was halted due to elections and a vote on Westwind’s proposal in the ADN. Neo-Conservatism has been nominated for the Director’s post of the ADN. Good luck Neo!
  • Discussions are still taking place about the vote on the Treaty with The Pacific. There was a disagreement about the actual result of the votes.
  • The College Laws and Procedures are now being voted on.
  • A majority of College-members want the Governor General to organise the Lord Chancellor elections.
  • A discussion is taking place about the Equilism’s branch of the Ordo Herectus. After the reunification, it was turned into an RP. However, The Pacific has strongly protested the use of the Ordo http://www.equilism.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=4922. Using the Ordo as a spam-police is not acceptable for The Pacific.

UN-voting
“Repeal The Right to Form Unions” was voted 1-5-1 against.

Bar & Games
The Most Hated Song, the most hated songs, bizarre holidays in March and postcounts are being talked about in The Bar. Also, it seems that a lot of our younger citizens are turning 18 this, starting with Govvistan. Happy birthday Govvistan!

Meanwhile, the first “client” of the Privatised Prison System has broken-out of prison! Rumours are that Tycholand had some assistance escaping from the facility. Besides the hunt for Tycholand, Equilism-residents enjoy the activities in Merl’s Live Band Pub and tea-drinking in Naga’s Tea House.

Diplomatic relations have been opened with the Confederacy of Free Regions (COFR) and reopened with The North Pacific.

Military Affairs
The men and women serving in the E-Army have been spotted in Wild Blue Yonder, Freedom and dresses-up as cowboys lassoing cows in Texas Rangers.

The College of Equilism
The following points are on the College’s agenda:

  • College Laws and Procedures has been approved by an unanimous vote of 12-0-0. The Monarch has forwarded the law to the Judiciary for review.
  • The discussion about Equilism’s branch of the Ordo Herectus is till taking place, but a decision is expected soon.
  • The Monarch has asked the Judiciary to review the votes cast for the treaty with The Pacific vote, as there was some disagreement about the outcome.

UN-voting
The resolution “Climate Refugee Commission” was voted 4-0 for.

Bar & Games
Equilism University, the default skin poll, hateable sounds, instruments and RL cruelties are hot in The Bar. Meanwhile, Equilismers gathered to wish our Chaucerin a very happy birthday – happy birthday Chaucerin!

And we’ve done it! With the deadline looming, the 1000-post-mark was reached in the “1000 posts in 2 months” regional challenge, proving Equilism’s talent for spamming.
Meanwhile, the same games are proving popular, with “The Previous Poster” evolving into a discussion about hairstyles and haircuts.

Role Playing & Main Street
The Role-Playing threads “who will post last?” and “attack the previous poster” are still the main battle-scenes in the region.

In Main Street News, the manhunt for Tycholand has come to an apparent stop, after many look-alikes were spotted in Main Street. The Platinum Dragon Hotel is now offering its customers the ability to pay for their accommodation through the Store and a suggestion has been made about introducing E-Miles, Equilism’s version of Air Miles.

Equilism University

After a lot of work and testing, Equilism now has a proper University! Students taking the courses don’t have to visit the University-forum with its sub-forums, but can now visit the proper University. Already existing courses have been added and more courses are on the drawing-boards, including an Equilism History course, a course in Equilism Law and a Paintshop Course.

Notherfork the Scribe has returned from a long pilgrimage through the Pacific, carrying with him the message of ADMIN. He preached to an audience of Equilismers quite passionately about what he learned and his interpretation of the Pacific Orthodoxy doctrine. Open Debate Board
Equilismers are having fun taking a political compass quiz; proving that there is no consistency in Equilismers’ political views. Some come out to be hard left liberals, while others are quite the opposite. Conservatives, communists, libertarians, socialists, centrists, we’ve got them all here in Equilism.

Attacks and discussion continue in “Attack the Previous Poster” and “Who will post last?”

In RP’s, Tycholand commando’s have entered an OmniCorp (a company in Seriphyn) Paramilitary Base in an effort to find evidence about OmniCorp’s involvement in the shooting-down of a Tycholand commercial airliner. This can be followed in http://www.equilism.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=5009

In http://www.equilism.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=5012, Tycholand and Niels are trying to see what lies at the bottom of the sea in the international waters between their countries.

In Main Street, Tycholand has been spotted and the manhunt continues to put him back in the Privatised Prison Service.
Fast-food and take-away restaurant http://www.equilism.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=5028 has been opened by The Empire of Byzantica. A conflict in the queue has already lead to the drawing of several guns, but the situation was resolved peacefully.

Foreign Affairs
Chancellor Tycholand took the week off, leaving his Deputy, Notherfork, in charge. But due to unforeseeable circumstances Notherfork was unable to preform his duties. This has lead to the delay in the release of the weekly update, and the Chancellery apologizes.

Discussion within the halls of the Chancellery have been going on concerning the Small & Intermediate Regions and Equilism Network (SIREN) proposal. This would improve and strengthen relations between the Realm and newly created and small regions.

Military Affairs
E-Army soldiers have been spotted in Willoughby, Asia, Zealand, and Ginger Paradise.

The College of Equilism
The College has quieted down over the last week, but new issues are appearing on the horizon.

The College unanimously approved a Military Liaison Pact with the Founderless Regions Alliance, and was signed by the Monarch Westwind on April 3rd, 2007. An Equilism liaison has not yet been appointed.

A notice of intended withdrawal from the ADN has been approved by the College and the Monarch. The withdrawal will only take place if Equilism does not see satisfactory reforms to the ADN begin. Meanwhile, collegians have been discussing other issues concerning the ADN.

UN-Resolution Voting
Lord Chancellor Restored Othalla has temporarily taken UN duties, thus he brought the latest resolution (the repeal of “Sexual Freedom”) before the UN voters. The proposal currently stands at 3-0 in favor of it.

Bar & Games
Equilismers were heard drunkenly celebrating Astarial’s birthday this last week. She’s now 18, and thus not jailbait!

The Gay Cafe has been somewhat popular of late, along with discussions on random thoughts, hated songs, daily greetings, the ages of Equilismers, and other such ramblings. For more of the madness drop by the Bar forum!

Fun and games, spamming and more spamming, it’s all entertaining until someone loses an eye. This week we’ve seen the return of the Ask the Guru thread, with Restored Othalla acting Guru. And of course the use spam games and quizzes continue to see vast popularity.

Role Playing & Main Street
What is Ambassador Island’s function? That is the question. Curious minds want to know.

Other popular RPs are still active, including the last one wins, Be Nice to the Previous Poster, and Attack the Previous Poster.

Main Street is seeing some life in the Privatised Prison Service and Cthulhu’s Hospital. But buyer beware, Main Street is a good place to lose a fortune.

Open Debate Board
This week has been a busy one on the ODB. The U.S. Missile Defense System, Abortion, Homosexuality, and religion are the hot topics, sparking much debate and controversy. But on a lighter note, Equilismers are still having clean fun with the Political Compass.

Military Affairs

The College of Equilism
On April 1st the College approved the intention of withdrawal from the ADN, which was later signed by the Monarch on April 3rd. Now, after the two week waiting period has been elapsed, Equilism has now officially left the ADN.

The SIREN proposal has been directed to the College for consideration, and a general consensus has been reached that a collegiate committee should be assembled to study SIREN, MLP, and similar means of foreign and military relations with other regions. Currently the proposed committee has been forwarded to the Lord Chancellor, and the College awaits his approval.

The Judicial review of the College Laws and Procedures is under discussion. The main concern shown by the Judiciary has been that the document does not include public votes, but instead restricts all votes to the College. Currently no amendments to the document have been put forward for legislation.

The new Multiple Citizenship Act has been voted on and approved by the College. The document was signed by the Monarch on April 20th. The new law was drafted and approved to replace an earlier, out-of-date document governing citizenship between Equilism and other regions.

UN-Resolution Voting
Equilism voted in favor of the “Cultural Heritage in War” resolution, the votes standing at 5-0-0.

Bar & Games
As usual Equilismers can be heard chatting it up in the bar. The region’s favorite conversation piece has seemed to remain random thoughts. This once and for all proves Equilismers have no thought process…
