Embassy request has been approved. We look forward to hearing an update from you soon. Upon completion of your embassy, you will recieve a telegram or a not on your RMB by a member of TEP announcing the completion of the embassy. Please note that we do check embassies for activity in the form of updates.

Thank you for approving our Embassy with The East Pacific. Currently, The NationStates Region is enjoying the summer daze with some recruitment but mostly attending to the Womens World Cup. We have kept our level of Nations to around 155 which ranks 38th in the Jennifer Government World. A passive region, we have remained neutral though, with the commemoration of our WA Delegate, reviewed our Security Council Policy. In the past the NationStates Region had boycotted all Security Council activity as we are fundamentally opposed to Liberation actions which usurp the gamemanship. Additionally, as a founderless region, we reserve the right to activate the Regional Password and do not believe that the Security Council should usurp this power. Through much discussion with member Nations the Region decided to limit our issue with the Security Council to just Liberation Proposals and begin activities within the realm of Condemn and Commend Proposalsd. As such our personal Commendation was accepted and we have since voted upon the merits of the separate proposals.

Since our last update the NationStates Region has increased it’s membership by 37% from the 155 Nations on July 10th to the 212 at this posting. In that time we have surged as high as 222 Nations and our currently the 29th largest region in the Jennifer Government Land. Continued neutrality keeps our Delegate the longest serving delegate in the World at 6 years and 336 days as he is on the cusp of 17 Billion in population. Additionally, our Region continues to post WA Resolutions for regional purview resulting in greater opportunities for democratic decisions on regional votes. Still popular are the continued tao and music postings on the message board.

That’s quite an improvement in population. Has your region been actively recruiting people?

Thanks for the update!

NationStates Region Monthly Report:

September 2011 marked a 22% increase in the number of member Nations from 211 at the beginning of the month to 257 Nations opening October. This accomplishment brings our region over 250 Nations for the first time since November 9, 2008 when we had 261 members. October 5, 2008 is the last time our region eclipsed 300 Nations.

0924 NS 250
0918 NS 251
0911 NS 217
0906 NS 214

Consular Rights - For - Passed

Repeal “Consular Rights” - Against - Defeated
Repeal “On Humanitarian Aid” - Against - Repealed

In the Security Council we continued our stance against Liberation resolutions and considered four additional Condemn and Commend resolutions.

Repeal “Liberate Free Thought” – For - Repealed

Condemn Macedonia - Against - Defeated
Condemn Thatcherton – Against - Passed

Commend Glen-Rhodes - Against - Defeated
Commend Naivetry – Against – Passed

Finally, Mikeswill celebrated seven years as WA Delegate of this most glorious and enlightened region on September 26. Without the continued support of the member Nations I could never attain the position of longest serving WA Delegate in the history of Jennifer Government. I am humbled by your continued support.

Mike

It has been some time since our last report. Since September 2011 our region remain relatively stable until July 2012 when recruitment efforts increased bringing new blood into the region. Beginning this year we once again surpassed 400 Nations and in the Spring topped 500. Currently we are witnessing a decline in numbers typical of summer daze.

Whereas we congratulated AMOM on his ascendancy to the Delegacy of this proud region, we were not surprised but still a little disappointed on his decision to close Embassies with our Region. And so it goes.

Nevertheless, NationStates remains one of the oldest and active Regions I the game and I am proud to have been of service for 8 + years as Delegate. May The East Pacific continue its role as one of the most important regions in the game.

Mikeswill

If you would like to continue relations with TEP you need only stay in touch on our forum. Your prompt response to said closure is appreciated and indicates that our embassies may not need to be dismantled.

As such I shall act in good faith and cancel our end of the Embassy closure. Also, should you consider a personal reply from myself it would be easier if you clear the “Ignore” telegrams option.

World Factbook Entry: Welcome to “NationStates”, aiming to become one of the strongest ranking regions. Pro-Economy, Pro-Society, Pro-WA, Pro-Peace; Join our glory! Above all freedom for all nations to control their own destinies in a region free from war.

The NationStates region began March 2013 with 438 Nations and grew by 24% closing out the month with 543 Nations ~ marking the first time since May 2005 that the Region eclipsed the 500 threshold. April witnessed a population decline of 9%; a brief increase in the first week of May; and then a gradual decrease to 471 Nations on June 1st. The past three weeks have shown continued decline in population attributed to the typical summer population drop-off. Overall we are still between 20th and 25th in the JenGov World in population.

Our Delegate, Mikeswill, continues to find WA support currently at 81 Endorsements keeping the Region well represented in the WA relative to non-feeder Delegate votes.

In the Word Assembly, the NationStates region (since April 1, 2013) voted with the Majority opinion on 8 occasions and the Minority on 4 occasions. (Our voting record may be found at: Forum | Runboard).

The NationStates region stands against the Security Region for ideological reasons. As such our voting record is indicative of our position. Therefore, we logged 7 Against votes on Liberations-Condemnations-Commendations and 5 For Repeal of said legislation.

Of current interest is the noticeable sharp increase in recruitment from other regions which quickly fill the telegram capacity of new nations and thus minimize the effectiveness of prior recruitment strategies. We are looking at altering our strategy while still offering a unique alternative to new nations considering regional options.

Done. I had forgotten about that.

I will likewise withdraw the order of cancellation. You will be receiving an update from us soon and we hope to hear from you in the near future as well.

World Factbook Entry: Welcome to “NationStates”, aiming to become one of the strongest ranking regions. Pro-Economy, Pro-Society, Pro-WA, Pro-Peace; Join our glory! Above all freedom for all nations to control their own destinies in a region free from war.

The NationStates region ended June 2013 with 425 Nations and declined by 14% closing out the month with 367 Nations, indicative of the typical summer famine of Nation creation. During this decline our WA Delegate and sole recruiter spent 16 days traveling to the RL areas of Costa Rica and Northwest United States resulting in zero recruitment telegrams for half the month. With the new recruitment templates we have seen far more competition for new nations resulting in 1 of every 5 telegrams (20%) either being blocked or too late (“In Box Full”). Of the remaining 80% of telegrams only 1.2% results in movement into the region down 40% from the spring. However, over the past week the region has seen an increase in population of 12 Nations. Overall we are still between 25th and 27th in the JenGov World in population.

Our Delegate, Mikeswill, continues to find WA support currently at 73 Endorsements keeping the Region well represented in the WA relative to non-feeder Delegate votes.

In the Word Assembly, the NationStates region (since July 1, 2013) voted with the Majority opinion on 7 occasions, the Minority on 0 occasions, and 1 Abstention due to travel. (Our voting record may be found at: Forum | Runboard).

The NationStates region stands against the Security Region for ideological reasons. As such our voting record is indicative of our position. Therefore, we logged 3 Against votes on Liberations-Condemnations-Commendations .

The NationStates region ended July 2013 with 367 Nations. Since that period our Region has seen a rather stable population through mid-October when we saw a month long decline to 350 Nations. With the new recruitment templates we have seen far more competition for new nations resulting in 40% to 50% of all telegrams either being blocked or too late (“In Box Full”). Of the remaining 50% of telegrams less than 1% results in movement into the region down 50% from the summer and 90% from the spring. However, over Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks we have seen increases from 350-370 Nations and then to 385 Nations. Overall we are still between 25th and 30th in the JenGov World in population.

Our Delegate, Mikeswill, continues to find WA support currently at 49 Endorsements keeping the Region well represented in the WA relative to non-feeder Delegate votes.

In the Word Assembly, the NationStates region (since August 1, 2013) voted with the Majority opinion on 22 occasions, the Minority on 11 occasions, and 1 Abstention. (Our voting record may be found at: Forum | Runboard).

The NationStates region stands against the Security Region for ideological reasons. As such our voting record is indicative of our position. Therefore, we logged 9 Majority votes and 14 Minority indicating the Jennifer Government Land is beginning to agree with the ridiculousness of the institution.

Thanks for the update. It’s good that you keep a record of WA votes.

Thanks for the update, I hope to hear from you again soon.

As do I. At least more often than once every three months…

2014 Year in Review ~ NationStates Region, The World Assembly, and The Security Council

In 2014 there were 40 new resolutions in the World Assembly in which the Delegate voted on 36. Of these 36 votes, 27 or 75% of time the vote agreed with the majority whereas 9 or 25% of the time the vote was with the minority. As such, the NationStates Region tends to vote with the majority on practical resolutions yet remain a minority voice on legislation we find meritless.

Additionally, there were 21 Repeal Resolutions in the World Assembly in 2014 of which one was thrown out due to technicalities and another was not voted on by the Delegate. Of the remaining 19 repeal votes 15 or 79% of time the vote agreed with the majority. Moreover, only two of these Repeal attempts were related to legislation passed in 2014.
The Commend/Condemn silliness of the Security Council continued in 2014. There were 19 Commend attempts in 2014 of which two were tossed due to technicalities, 6 were defeated and 11 were passed. However, of the defeated or disallowed, three were rewritten and later passed meaning 11 of the 16 Nations (69%) were eventually Commended. Given our Anti-Security Council stance NationStates voted Against all 19 resolutions. We also voted for the two Commend Repeals with both passing. The Condemn vote in the Security Council was 3-7 with two Nations getting multiple attacks. NationStates voted against all 10. Additionally, we voted for all 6 repeals of which 5 were successful.

The most ridiculous and dangerous power of the Security Council is the Liberation provision. In 2014 13 Regions were subject to Liberation votes with 9 falling to the recklessness of the Council. Seven of these Liberation Resolutions were eventually Repealed but more as a ploy rather than due to the illegitimate and manipulative nature of this abuse of power. Typically, NationStates Region voted against all 13 Liberation votes and for all 11 Liberation Repeals.

We continue to stand against Liberations as merely a means to take over control of a Region or to usurp the game power of the freely elected Delegate. Our own region was subject to such manipulation of the rules whereby our 11 years of stability was shaken were it not for some gracious support by the Jennifer Government community.

NationStates Population

2014 marked the most stable year in NationStates in terms of population over the past 12 years. Our population fluctuated by only 71 nations throughout the year compared with 193 in 2013, and 222 in 2012. 2011 had a lower amount of fluctuation in a year in which we were 60% smaller than currently. Nevertheless, we ended the year 154 Nations smaller than our high of 543 Nations in 2013. This reduction was due mostly to the systematic automation of recruitment which has flooded the game with a plethora of Regions all trying to recruit the same newbies. My old strategy of manually remitting one recruitment telegram at a time to every new nation became inefficient and obsolete. Regardless, we have held our own as an alternative to much of the Regions in the Jennifer Government Land.
