"As many of you will be aware, our founder, Ainland, has left the region and formed his own. We have been without a founder for long periods before, but this presents a new threat, as Ainland unlawfully removed the ‘communist’ tag from our region, and threatened to dismiss me as Delegate for re-adding it. His issues with our region’s change over time go beyond the tag itself. As a consequence of this, the government is raising the CUDA level to Orange as Ainland’s rhetoric and actions reflect a clear threat to regional stability.

We are a pan-leftist region, in that leftists of all stripes are allowed and freely welcomed in our region. That will not change, no matter what threats our founder makes towards us. We hope Ainland does not make any further threats to the democratic structure of this region, and we further hope that he allows us to be the welcoming pan-leftist region we have always been."

-DELEGATE HELVURIUMS FAREWELL SPEECH:
“Comrades,
I write to you all for the last time as Delegate of the Social Liberal Union.
It has certainly been an eventful term in office, and one which I firmly believe has changed our region from the better. We are firmly established in NSLeft, successfully rebounded after a coup against our government, and dealt with foreign subversion from a region which many of us considered a friend at one point or another. These events have all brought us closer together, brought new people to us, and shown us that we aren’t just another region - we’re a deeply rooted community.
I truly believe we are stronger than ever, more connected than ever, and ready to face any challenges that our region could possibly face in the foreseeable future.
This region means a lot to me; you all mean a lot to me. Many of you have been there for me in tough times, and were one of the main reasons I got through being outed. I hope my Delegacy has continued to improve our community in a way which makes you feel comfortable sharing your truth self, and having time away from any real life issues. Every one of you brings something unique to our community. You make the region what it is.
I offer congratulations to Courelli for becoming the 18th World Assembly Delegate of the Social Liberal Union, and encourage you all to endorse them to ensure a smooth transition between our delegacies. I am positive they will serve our union well once more, and do their best to ensure we continue to grow and strengthen as a community. We’re in this together.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my time as Delegate, as I certainly have.
For now? Farewell,
Helvurium
17th Delegate of the Social Liberal Union”

  • A message from delegate Courelli
    “Friends,
Minutes ago, the SLU government executed an operation to secure the original “Social Liberal Union” region. After over a week of careful planning and coordination, I’m proud to announce that this mission was a success. You may view the refounded original region here: https://www.nationstates.net/region=social_liberal_union
It should be noted that this operation was conducted in coordination with our ex-founder, Ainland, who agreed days ago to transfer ownership of the region over to the legitimate SLU community. Furthermore, I’m grateful for those who assisted in the planning and execution of this operation, including Anaaxes, Goncar, Kanoria, and Helvurium.
Going forward, I’m sure that the lawful administration of our reclaimed homeland will be provided for by law, and I encourage swift legislative action to do so. Until such a time, I will dutifully maintain the founder nation to ensure that the old region remains secure.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported the Social Liberal Union during our transition to our new region. Your support made an unfortunate situation tolerable and helped stabilize our community during a time of crisis. However, with the reclamation of our homeland, I’m proud to declare that this crisis is fully behind us. Now, we move forward, eyes set on the future, determined to further develop our community and strengthen the bonds of comradeship, both domestically and abroad, for many years to come.
    Best regards,
    Courelli, World Assembly Delegate”
