End of the Dremlegate Administration Address
As we look at the waning term of my administration, I think back proudly on what we managed to accomplish this term, and the example I got to set for the Archon going forward. We saw the end of our long-time tension with The West Pacific, The North Pacific, and the Modern Gameplay Compact as a whole, and the best part is, we did it without compromising TEP values. We walked the line that needed to be walked to end this term in the best spot The East Pacific could land while not losing what makes our community important, our steadfast commitment to the ideals of independence.
That’s not all, by a long shot. We also were able to strike a blow against the fractured plague of our Valsora community, Cordone. What started planning in the American-Cascadia Delegacy, into the A Mean Old Man delegacy, and finally coming to fruition in my Delegacy was the capture and shutdown of Cordone. The lesson here for the terms going forward is this: Gameplay politics is a tool, not just a toxic reality. Yes, its definitely plenty of the latter, but with finesse and smart planning, it can lead to great things. Afterall, this game is fully built on its social scene, and even as we focus more on our roleplay and community, we can not neglect the mechanisms we are tied to. Recruitment, relation building, and onsite engagement breaths so much life into our community. The voice chats become much more fun when people outside of your normal circles join them, and that’s something I hope future administrations continue to utilize. We cannot turn our back on the world, for the world is ours.
Another thought I want to leave in this address is, the interconnection between our ministries should always be utilized. Collaborating Foreign Affairs with Culture has long been a staple, but one thing that was done more in my term than others before mine is the revitalization and utilization of The Eastern Pacific Sovereign Armada for Foreign Affairs. Without EPSA, we would not have had the part in Cordone that we did. A strong military culture in the region is not a hindrance to our other focuses but can amplify them. My hope is that future administrations continue to bolster, support, and take as active a role in the Armada as their skillset allows. We have a strong military, and it would be the biggest shame to see that unravel due to inattentiveness from future administrations.
Lastly, I’m proud to have supported, and bolstered the push for the Head of Goverment amendment, that will see me as the last elected Delegate of the East Pacific. One may think “Why close the door behind you?”, and to that i say, this door left us so exposed to unrest. Consistent delegate transitions as they were happening took many weeks to pull off, and it took the main focus from running the region. I think that without this consistent mechanical changing of the guards, we will see the new Archon be able to hit the ground running, and accomplish much more. Our door open left us vulnerable to the predators in the storm, and now with the door reinforced, we can breath happy knowing that the coups of the past will remain footnotes in history, and that our trusted security body will forever safeguard the mechanical realities of our region, and we will be better for it.
I do want to take a moment here to state, that as much as this sounds like the closing on my TEP government book, it should not be taken that way. I will continue to support and contribute to this region that’s been with me since I was a literal child, to an adult pushing nearly thirty. I will continue to see that this region can be a beacon for anyone looking for the sense of community that ive come to cherish.
This is just another chapter closing, and I’m excited for what is next. Thank you The East Pacific, for giving me a home for over 10 years, and the chance to repay that as your elected Delegate.
