The Sarvian Federative Socialist Workers’ Republic
Overview: The Sarvian Federative Socialist Workers’ Republic, commonly known as Sarvimaa, is a state located in Central Novaris, sharing borders with the Imperial Kingdom of Gamlevinland and the Kingdom of Tretrid. One of the oldest socialist states on Urth, Sarvimaa’s monarchy was toppled in 1891 following a worker-peasant uprising and a short but fierce civil war, which ended with the execution of the last Tsaari in front of the gates of the Grand Palace in Valkoniemi. Since then, Sarvimaa has enjoyed 131 years of uninterrupted governance by the Workers’ Party, albeit often in coalitions with other left-wing parties. Although there have been periods of autocracy and “excess zeal”, modern Sarvimaa is a stable socialist democracy with enthusiastic political participation by citizens.
Sarvimaa has a population of 17.5 million people, some 72% of whom are tieflings, and has a GDP of 833 billion, with a GDP per capita of approximately 41,000. Following the gradual economic liberalization under Chairman Kaleva Kaukkopoika Vennamo during the 1970s and 80s, Sarvimaa’s economy has been characterized by a mix of state-run, centrally-planned “strategic industries”, like defense and natural resource exploitation, and worker collectives operating on a profit basis. Sarvimaa’s early economy was dominated by the export of its plentiful resources: logging, mining and commercial fishing, along with its rich agricultural base made possible by its fertile black soil. A push for self-reliance, beginning with the 7th Five-Year Plan in 1930, led to the development of Sarvian heavy industry, planned according to the principles of “material balances”. The KAT information network, a nationwide project initiated in the late 70s with the intent of modernizing economic planning, spurred a technological revolution in Sarvimaa. That, coupled with Vennamo’s liberalization and new foreign investment, led to a period of intense economic growth that led to Sarvimaa catching up and in some cases even surpassing its capitalist neighbors in terms of prosperity and living standards. Currently, Sarvimaa’s economy is dominated by tech and heavy industries.
Sarvimaa is currently led by Chairwoman of the Workers’ General Council, Roosa Matintytär Mikkonen. She governs in cooperation with Chairman of the Executive Committee, Vilppu Lennipoika Kari, and Chairman of the Defense Committee, Akseli Erkkipoika Peltonen. Sarvimaa is a member of the League of Novaris and the Novaris Workers’ Rights Council.

Mirhaime and Sarvimaa had been international partners since the beginning of the twentieth century, when bilateral relations were established. Since then, this relationship has stood the test of time in the face of both peace and war. Sarvimaa and Mirhaime came to the mutual understanding that maintaining friendly relations based on mutual trust, understanding, and cooperation is critical to the preservation of regional peace and stability. Mirhaime first pledged military cooperation to the Sarvimaa in 1966, following Jalo Siinkar’s ascension to the prestigious position of Federation Paragon, and has upheld treaties signed in his name ever since.
Following Mirhaime’s recent return to regional affairs, the Federation’s Paragon and Saenad deemed it critical to strengthen existing ties with historic allies, namely Sarvimaa.
Mirhaime presented the government of the Sarvian Federative Socialist Workers’ Republic with a Regional Security Defence Agreement that included the following key points for consideration:
+) The expansion of Mirhaimian-Sarvian military cooperations, with events like Dragon’s Trident allowed to expand at the discretion of both sides.
+) The removal of several treaties and restrictions on arms export on the part of the Mirhaime Federation, allowing Sarvimaa’s armed forces to acquire new Mirhaimian-made equipment.
+) Strengthening Mirhaimian-Sarvian military-technical cooperations, and thus expanding the existing International Affairs Program among several military academies serving both armed forces.
+) The allocation of a certain amount of credit for the sole purpose of enhancing Sarvian defense capabilities with Mirhaimian assistance.
With the consent of the government of the Sarvian Federative Socialist Workers’ Republic, the Mirhaimian government wishes to see this proposal agreed upon by both sides in a dignified visit to the Republic by the Paragon of the Federation next month.
