Summary
Frayed Republic is the story of the political climate of the Republic of Wealden in the present day.
Starting in 2020, and recounting all events up until 2024, Frayed Republic will be the documentation of all political happenings in Wealden since 2020 – the election of Andrii Vasylyk – up until today; the fall of Nina Boyko’s government and the Worker’s Labour Party.
Written from the perspective of Nikolai Pavlovich (real name Maxim Viktor Yaroslavovich), a Wealdenite civil servant who was appointed as an advisor to the cabinet office of Wealden in 2019. It will study the psychology of Wealdenite politicians – particularly Andrii Vasylyk in the months leading to his sudden and unexpected death – and others such as Nina Boyko, the rise of Ruslan Zyma, and the return of Dmytro Lysenko.
Characters
AN OVERVIEW OF THE CHARACTERS
Nikolai Pavlovich (born 1984) – a Wealdenite civil servant and author who was appointed to work for the government, becoming one of its closest aides, in 2019.
Andrii Vasylyk (1965 – 2021) – the former prime minister, having served two times. From 2014 until 2017, and from 2020 until 2021. Vasylyk oversaw some of the most turbulent and darkest times in Wealdenite politics and is seen as a very interesting and somewhat controversial figure.
Nina Boyko (born 1981) – the current prime minister, assuming office about a month after Vasylyk’s death. Heavily viewed as incompetent not only by the country, but by her own party as well. However, it’s important to note that she wasn’t given the easiest start to her position.
Ruslan Zyma (born 1976) – a former wrestler known as Perimeter, who turned to politics after his retirement. Zyma became the leader of the Moderate Party in 2022, in in 2023 he became the nation’s favourite to be suited as the next prime minister.
Dmytro Lysenko (born 1978) – an MP, the leader of the newly formed Constitutional Reform Party, and a former member of the Worker’s Labour Party who fell out with the community in 2013 following a series of disagreements. Also heavily regarded as a controversial figure in Wealdenite politics – particularly for his known dislike towards politicians such as Vasylyk, Boyko, and Wealdenite president Mykhailo Marchenko.
