Historical Summary: Thousands of years ago, it’s believed by some historians that Gemein elves occupied much more of southwestern Gondwana, as there have been artifacts found stretching all the way from the modern-day Dalaka and Korpiceia to the tip of the southern peninsula. However, for reasons we cannot be certain of, perhaps some sort of conflict, these disparate tribes of Gemein elves declined greatly in numbers and reach over the millennia. About a thousand years ago, confined to an area shockingly similar to the borders of modern-day Gemeinschaftsland, the remaining tribes of Gemein elves formed a loose confederation, staunching further decline. For a time, these tribes thrived, and grew in population and in relevance.

However, as the centuries passed, overseas powers began to colonize southwest Gondwana, and at the start of the 1700s, the loose confederation of tribes found themselves at the receiving end of incursions by Korćetta, seeking resources and fresh converts to their religion. In the face of this threat, the confederation solidified their union, forming the United Tribes of Gemeinschaftsland in 1709, and selecting the first Elf Queen soon after. As a united nation, Gemeinschaftsland was on the losing side of a series skirmishes with Korćetta over the next century, once again causing their population and prosperity to decline, and as a new imperial power, Tretrid-Sprevania, entered the region, Gemeinschaftsland chose instead to submit itself as a protectorate rather than risk losing its culture to Korćettan missionaries. From 1869 onwards, Gemeinschaftsland was heavily influenced in all affairs by Tretrid-Sprevania, but Gemeins in their day to day lives were largely able to live and practice as they wished.

In 1920, as Tretridian Southwest Gondwana crumbled, Gemeinschaftsland once again found itself in control of its own affairs, and soon seized a fairly large amount of land to its south–abandoned Tretridian colonies. The years since have been that of peace, prosperity, and unease. With a miniscule but stable population relative to its size and steady economic growth, but no way to know who will try to subjugate Gemeinschaftsland next.
