MILITARY INSTILLATION IDENTIFICATION #007
The Werewolf Consortium
Commander Grey sat at his desk overlooking the security bunker. His room was rectangular shaped with black walls and behind his desk, a wall of hardened glass. Beyond the glass were six rows of consoles and screens manned by multiple scientists and analysts. Intelligence from around the world using cutting edge surveillance nanites, black market purchases and satellites were collected and compiled within these walls. The commander sighed. His job was a boring one nowadays. With isolationist policies back in effect he had little to do but observe the worlds events and think of what could be. News of the Listonian rebellion flashed on the screen and recent developments of international councils. There was a beep from his computer screen. He sat up straight and his ears perked up. Finally some action he thought. It was a level zero intelligence file. He raised his eyebrow and opened the file. It displayed a live map of the outer solar system.
All ships, satellites, and other cosmic bodies were tracked from satellites orbiting the planet. An unidentified ship just warped into the sector. It was leaking radiation at a catastrophic rate and was on a crash course with the East Pacific. The commander leaned over and pressed a small button on his console.
“Ensign Matthews to my office.” He said. A small werewolf with glasses walked into his room. He wore a full military uniform complete with a nanosuit overlay.
“You called sir?” He said somewhat nervously.
“Yes I want you to alert the Warchief of a situation that requires his immediate attention. In Person. That will be all.” Said Commander Grey.
“Yes sir.” Said the Ensign. He turned around and went out the sliding door he came in. The Commander wasn’t risking sending a communication through. To many prying eyes in the government these days. He wanted credit for this discovery, not some scheming bureaucrat.
The Warchief’s Manor was only minutes away. Within ten minutes the Warchief was at the base.
“This had better be good waking me up at 3 in the morning and having me speed over here.” Grunted the Warchief. He wore his traditional heavy power armor.
“Look at this report.” Said Commander Grey handing the Warchief the document. The Warchief looked it over for a few seconds and then looked up.
“A ship going down on a crash course with our planet. And I care why?” Asked the Warchief looking up.
“This is an unidentified ship. We don’t know any species with the technology and ship design like this. It also is crashing relatively close to us.” Said the commander.
“Hmmm. Estimated time of impact?” Asked the Warchief.
“Within the hour. We can have troops at the sight and the region locked down before it arrives.”
“No doubt other nations will pursue this as well. Set up a nanite field in the area to monitor it. Deploy the Sentinels and Stellari to the area. Declare it a no fly zone and have Valkyries lock down the region. You have your orders Commander. If they have any useful technology, it will be ours. Good work.” Said the Warchief. Commander Grey smiled and saluted the Warchief who saluted back. He quickly pulled up the various generals’ hotlines and relayed orders of immediate deployment.
The warchief walked outside of the commanders room and made sure no one was looking at him. He then pressed a button on his wrist guard which opened up a screen. It flickered once and a black werewolf in full power armor and helmet responded.
“Orders my lord?” He said through his helmet.
“Deploy the Lycan Division to the crash zone. Use of lethal force is approved on any survivors.” Said the Warchief in a hushed tone. The Soldier nodded.
“Yes sir.” He said and the screen flickered off.
Aboard the Cargo Ship Tinteria
The rookie engineer Hernando was sleeping on the job leaning up against the ships reactor, when suddenly, “Entering Hyperspace!” Boomed a loud voice over the intercom, followed with a strange noise of the ship passing through the event horizon of the rip in space. Hernando shot up and hit his head against a bench knocking down a plasma welding tool down and smashing a hole in the glass view port showing the nuclear isotopes melding into one, causing a great amount of energy to be made, its a shame that the welding tool interrupted this, as it destabilised the fusion. This made an initial blast, killing Hernando and almost ripping the engine off of the ship. A synthetic voice said “REACTOR CRITICAL!” over the intercom. “Eject the engine room and drop us out of hyperspace at the next system before it explodes!” Said Captain Luke Felman. Then explosive charges went off in the corners of the ship connecting the engine to the rest of ship, it then careened behind the ship in hyperspace, it then exploded into a huge light green explosion. “DROP US OUT OF HYPERSPACE NOW!” Captain Felman Shouted.
“I can’t sir! We can only make one space rip without power, considering the fusion reactor and engine has been ripped off the ship! It would be nice if we dropped out of hyperspace in a system rather than deep space.” Said Veteran Engineer Samuel.
“How long till we get into a system then?!” Asked Felman.
“14 seconds!” Said Samuel.
“The explosion would have caught us then! It’s only a couple kilometers behind us right now!” Said Captain Felman.
The explosion was powerful enough to destroy an entire continent, but this explosion was igniting the strange gas that was in hyperspace, increasing the explosions power by 30x over.
“3… 2… 1!” said Samuel Nervously as he pressed some buttons and then a rip in hyperspace was created making a window back to normal space which the ship quickly flew through. Nuclear isotopes managed to shoot through the hole before it collapsed in on its self. Unprotected parts of the ship were flooded with extremely deadly radiation.
“Mr. Samuel what are the chances of us getting rescued?” Said Captain Felman.
“Well we’re ballistic and on a course for a nearby planet going at the speeds we are know we should hit the planet within 10 minutes. Scans show it has intelligent life on it, if we survive the impact the locals could surely help us out… If they’re friendly.” Said Samuel .
“Well then, shields to maximum, we don’t want to burn up in atmosphere.” Said the Captain.
With a press of a couple buttons a strange field emits out of the ship and then disappears.
“Wait Captain, we’re being scanned by something from the planets surface! How should we respond” Said Samuel.
"Good! Now they will know where we will “land” " Said the Captain.
After a minutes of intense waiting, the ship shields light up with the impact to the atmosphere, slowing them down to 2% of their initial speed.
“Sir shields down to 10% That impact took alot out of them, I don’t think the shields will stay up long enough to cushion the landing. Transferring remaining power to the shields and inertial dampeners” Said Samuel
The Captain remained quiet as great stress from the heat of entry quickly dwindled the shields down. Within seconds the ship impacted the planet, the shields only down to 4% cushioned only 15% of the impact, leaving a sizeable crater. The two men in the ship passed sustaining heavy injuries as soon as the ship hit the ground.
The last transmission they picked up before blacking out was a garbled radio transmission.
“They have made landfall, all units converge on the crash site.”
