I'm Deledead - Back From The Grave

Hello everyone. You may know me by many names: American-Cascadia, I’m Dead, Jerma Fanboy, but most importantly of all, the Delegate of TEP, and I am here today to campaign again for Delegate of The East Pacific. Before I go any further, I would like to acknowledge that I have not been very innovative in my delegacy; I have been very good at maintaining the status quo, but not much else. Merlo was the one who brought this to my attention, and I appreciate all that he said to me in that conversation. It motivated me to begin to change the region for the better, to do something that will make life for our residents and executive staff better. I apologize to all the people who elected me for my promises of reform. If re-elected, I will do better. Here are some of the big plans that I have for my next term as Delegate, some of which I have already started.

  1. Start doing interregional festivals again. These are great ways for our residents to interact with those outside of our region and help to promote friendly relations between TEP and its allies. One of these festivals is currently in the works, and I would love to be able to finish it.
  2. Starting up automatic recruitment. I am doing this because manual recruitment worked when Altys and Jo were in their roles, but now, without them, the bot’s use has not been utilized. I believe that automatic recruitment is also easier, and more will get done when this is implemented.
  3. Reform the executive. This is my big plan for my next term. I want to reform the executive and how we recruit new staffers. I feel like, alongside the lack of recruitment, the way that the executive is laid out and how applications are done is very out of the way and leads to a lot of confusion. I also don’t believe that threads are working as the home for the ministries, apart from News and WAA.
  4. Reform EPSA. Dremaur and I are going to be working together to reform the EPSA. We currently have two plans that we will be working to implement. This includes making sure that soldiers who are in EPSA are ONLY in EPSA, to promote exclusive membership. We also want to make it so that any soldier who is not currently running an operation must be in TEP and endorsing the Delegate to promote the security of the region.
  5. Bot infrastructure reform. I would like to reform our bot system so that they are hosted and run by someone who is dedicated to TEP and will not be leaving anytime soon.

These are my three long-term plans for this term, going into my next. Of course, these will not be my only plans, I will come up with more as my term progresses. All I promise is that during this next term, I will be a lot more willing to make changes and take risks, and I hope that you all will like this new version of me.

Now I will go over a few accomplishments that I have done in my past two terms. I am not doing this to brag, but to show what I have been capable of doing;

  1. Lead TEP through difficult internal events, such as the Maham Pact and Cordone, along with the help from every executive staffer and moderator. I appreciate everyone who helped the region through this.
  2. Established relations with new regions, The Plains of Perdition, Starlight, and Blue Ridge, deepened relations with our current allies, embassies, and consulates, such as NPO, and established an embassy with AA and the regions that make up the alliance. I also joined TEP into The Sunrise Pact as an observer.
  3. Helped to reform the WAA ministry with Cretox as the head of the ministry.
  4. Nominated 5 viziers and 2 arbiters, all of whom were successfully voted into their positions.
  5. Created a new Ministry of Outreach to help connect TEP Main with the RP servers of TEP.

Once again, if I become the delegate, I will have applications for my cabinet done with a Google Form. I will be holding applications for all the roles except for News and WAA, both of which have been restaffed with a new Minister. I will also not be holding applications for EPSA Admiral, as that role requires very specific skills, and if I ever decide to get a new person for the role, I would like to hand-pick them.

I will say that this summer I will be working a full-time job, and in the fall I will be going back to college. Despite these, I am still fully dedicated to the role of Delegate, and if I feel like I cannot do it anymore, I will resign, but it will not come to that, I promise. If I did not believe that I could do this, I would not be running for Delegate here and now. Now I will be going into my ministry-specific plans for my next term.

  1. Foreign Affairs

For Foreign Affairs, I have a few ideas that may help us perform better on the world stage. For one, I believe that we should be proactive in reaching out to new regions. This can be seen as something I have been doing with Blue Ridge and Starlight. I also believe that we should be reaching out to more regions about deepening relations and forming embassies if we do not have them yet. This can be seen in my reaching out to AA to further our relations. I also believe that we need a better place for regions to post their foreign news. From looking at other regions’ Discord servers, I believe that we should have threads for each embassy so that we can better know the happenings in other regions and make it easier for these regions to spread their news to us as well.

Edit:
I plan on keeping TEP’s neutral/non-aligning stance on Foreign Affairs. I also plan on opening up the FA Lower Council to more people, not just those who are ambassadors to other regions. I believe that this Lower Council could be a place where people can learn about the Foreign Affairs of TEP and eventually become an ambassador or a part of the Inner Council.

  1. Recruitment

Recruitment is one of the biggest issues going into this next term that I intend to fix as soon as possible, and I have been in the process of fixing it. Manual recruitment worked when Jo was in office and Altys was there as well, because Altys made the bot, and not many people outside of Altys and Jo know how to use the bot. Now, we could have Altys train all of recruitment on his bot, if he does not mind, but we should have a backup, just in case. Now I do not know for sure what we can do for this, but I will be working with my cabinet and the technologically proficient to create something else to use for manual recruitment. Alongside this, I am also in the process of setting up automatic recruitment for the Ministry of Recruitment, as stated earlier. This will make it easier to introduce the new Minister and other staffers to Recruitment, as automatic recruitment is usually easier and takes less time out of the day. I will personally train any new Recruitment personnel on how to utilize automatic recruitment.

Edit:
I have been informed that we have a TEP bot that is being used for manual recruitment, but it has not been used since before Schmerzen left the MoR role. I am planning on learning how to use this bot and will be teaching the new MoR how to use it as well. I will no longer be promoting automatic recruitment, as I have learned that even though it does not require as much effort, it sends telegrams much slower than manual recruitment. I think for the time being at least, we should focus on manual recruitment.

  1. Endorsement Affairs

I believe that Endorsement Affairs has not done anything during my last term. And this is all my fault. I have not been holding people accountable when I should’ve, which is something that I have started doing and plan to do going forward. Endorsement Affairs was made to help gather new World Assembly nations and promote endorsing the Delegate and Viziers. This is not the fault of the current Minister, this is all my fault. In my next term, I will be more involved in making sure that the Minister understands their role and how they should go about doing what I need them to do. I will be right there alongside them to help them and make sure everything is running smoothly. I also believe that I have not properly conveyed how the Minister of Recruitment is their direct supervisor, so in my next term, I will make sure that the MoR is more involved in Endorsement Affairs and understands that they are to oversee the Ministry.

  1. Culture

Culture is the foundation of TEP, something that I have believed in for a long time. Culture needs somewhat of a revamp, as it has been falling on hard times recently. Right now, it seems like the only people who do anything in Culture are me and Tommo. It seems like no one else responds to the pings that we put out for people to help. Culture needs to be restaffed, this Ministry is used to help boost engagement and bring events to the people of TEP. I believe that we should be having more than just one monthly event and a contest every few months. I believe that we should be having bi-monthly events, one of which is the Hunger Games. The other can be up in the air and can change from month to month. Although to do this, we will need a lot more Culture staffers, willing to host events during the months. I will also be around during my days off and the weekends when college starts back up to help host events as well.

As I stated earlier, I also plan on bringing back festivals. Festivals are a great way to promote interregional cooperation as well as fostering a space where people of other regions can interact without politics getting in the way. I remember back when festivals were everywhere, and everyone always had a great time participating in events and talking with their peers. These festivals died out for no reason, and I hope that they will stay after the festival that I have in the works.

  1. News

I believe that News is currently on a good trajectory. We have a new Minister, and we are getting back on track to release articles within the month for which they are being written. I believe that we do need some more RMB and Roleplay representation in the News, but other than that, I believe that there is not much more to do. I do hope that once we fix deadlines, people will actually stick by them, because I know how busy life can get, but if we can make the deadline within the month or a few days after. I cannot wait to see how Tommo reforms the news.

  1. Outreach

I will admit, Outreach has not done a lot after bringing it back from the dead. This is mostly my fault. I did not check on the Minister and did not apply myself and help out with the role. The survey conducted at the start of my term was a great start and provided a lot of useful information, but it was not acted on. Recently, I had the Minister send recruitment announcements to the Urth and RMB Cafe servers, which I think is a good start for the Ministry. I would like to do monthly pings in each server about executive applications, and I would like to use the Minister of Outreach to ping for other important things, such as Minister applications and Culture contests, anything that needs to be said in all three servers. If this is not seen as needed, then I will not be too sad to see ot go, but I believe that this is a good way to bridge the gap between TEP Main and the RP servers.

  1. World Assembly Affairs

World Assembly Affairs has recently been going through a makeover due to our new Minister. Since they were just given the role, I would like to keep them and see how their plans turn out, as well as keep Aurora in the Deputy Minister position. I feel as if the votes do help bring the voice of the people to my attention, so I believe that it’s a great idea to keep the voting going. I will be keeping a close eye on the new minister to make sure all of their ideas get implemented correctly and that nothing goes wrong during this process. I am very excited to see how this reform process goes, and I am looking forward to the future of World Assembly Affairs.

Edit:
I would also like to create a campaign to help out inspiring WA authors. I would like to develop a team of people (most likely the WA Commission) to help teach these people and promote proposals written by new WA authors. I would also like to continue to promote WA proposals written by new and old TEP authors alike. I feel like this campaign/teaching could help promote authorship on the WA and can help it feel less daunting than it does to new people.

Here I have also attached a screenshot from my DMs with Cretox that explains this plan in better detail.

  1. EPSA

As stated earlier, Dremaur is planning to go through a complete EPSA reform. This is because the army is faltering, not through the number of soldiers, but through the number of people using EPSA to retain citizenship while not having a nation in TEP. This is a major issue that we plan on solving ASAP. This will come in the form of pushing legislation to require EPSA soldiers to only participate in EPSA, and in no other military organizations in any other regions. This will help promote an EPSA first policy, and prevent people from just using the army for the WA benefits. We also plan on making it so that any EPSA soldier who is not currently on any orders to join the WA in TEP and endorse the Delegate. As I said earlier, this will help to promote security in TEP. I believe that these changes will be widely accepted, and I hope that they can be implemented quickly and easily to fix these issues once and for all.

  1. UTEP

UTEP is in a rough spot right now, and I know that. Ever since Aivintis relinquished his role as the Chancellor, not much has been getting done, which is because there was no clear successor for the role. I am currently attempting to find a replacement, but it has proven tough, as most people have not been involved in UTEP, which means that they would also not know how to run it. I am hoping that eventually I will find someone with previous writing experience who also has a leadership position in the past. I have reached out to multiple people, but no one has had the time to commit to the position. UTEP is an amazing resource and a great place for people who love writing, and I would love to help foster it in my next term and see it return to its former glory.

  1. Urth and Valsora

Both Urth and Valsora are very special and interesting cases. These servers are technically a part of TEP, but are so far removed that they might as well be their own thing. I will start this off by saying, I do not plan to integrate these servers with the TEP government and TEP Main. All I would like to do is promote awareness of the government and government activities. Being from Urth originally, I do see where all of the anti-government sentiments come from, and I understand these beliefs. This is precisely why I do not want to integrate, I know that the people of TEP, Urth, and Valsora will be widely against it and will fight tooth and nail to keep the government from intervening in the daily life of these servers. I hope that these two servers can once again feel welcomed and seen by the government; it’s one of my top priorities for this term.

  1. RMB

I feel like the RMB is not a part of TEP at the moment. Of course, people in the RMB Discord server are connected to TEP Main, but people only on the RMB have no real way to keep up to date with the goings-on in the region other than the EPNS, but that only releases every month. I believe that we should keep the RMB better in the loop and make announcements on the RMB the same way we make announcements on Discord. I feel like this will make the RMB feel more connected to the main government of TEP, and I hope that it will make the experience of being in TEP more enjoyable for all of the people on the RMB.

Edit:
If we have the manpower in this upcoming term, I would also like to keep the quote of the day up to date. I would also like to have weekly fun polls to gather engagement from the RMB and make sure they feel welcome and have fun in TEP. Someone in the RMB has already begun questions of the day, and I would like to keep promoting this, as they have done something great here, and I appreciate it a lot.

  1. Edit: Vice Delegate

After hearing concerns that some people have been having about the Delegate Elections channel on Discord, I have decided to abolish the Vice Delegate. I am instead going to replace them with a Chief Minister. I am still deciding on the name, but @theclockworkvixen came up with a great suggestion on their campaign, Chief Minister of Internal Affairs. Whatever I end up naming them, they will no longer be the Vice Delegate.

Overall, I want to apologize for my lack of proactivity during my last two terms. I know how it must feel for you all to see the Delegate that you elected not doing anything substantial or important. Because of this, I will break down my wall of fear and anxiety to be a better Delegate going forward. I will be the one to create change and be the Delegate that the people want me to be. I hope that you all will elect me as your next Delegate, but if you do not see the promise in me, then I will not be disappointed if you choose another candidate. I know that, left up to democracy, the people of TEP will make the right decision.

Ex Oriente Lux,

The East Pacific Delegate

Do you feel you’d be able to handle a third term in a row? Something tells me Delegacy must be quite the task

I do think that I can handle a third term. I believe that I have proved that over the past month, where I have been doing more than I have been even with my job taking a lot of my time.

This has been on my mind since it was mentioned on Discord: do you still intend to leave TEP and build a UCR upon concluding your terms as Delegate? If so, should I expect to lose some of our citizens and officials in another exodus?

I was never going to leave TEP, my WA will always stay within TEP. I will work on a UCR on the side, but I will still focus on TEP for the most part. TEP is and always will be the region I love the most, no matter what.

Thank you for the clarification.

Of course, happy to provide it.

Hey Dead – and everyone else who’s reading. I’d like to start this post off with a disclaimer that I am running against Dead, but that this message is in no way meant as an attack on his candidacy. I only hope to ask for clarification on ideas that may form the policy of The East Pacific. If Dead wins, I want to make sure that I have not held out on sharing my perspective, thoughts, and critiques. I expect and hope I will receive the same from Dead himself and all my opponents. I apologize to Dead personally for any unintentional antagonism this might imply and I will be willing to edit or delete my post if either Dead or the Conclave sees it or its wording as unfair.

That said, let me begin.

1… Interregional festivals were discontinued for various reasons, including manpower, lack of payoff thru participation, lack of interregional participation, etc. Past attempts to bring them back have been halted by officials – such as a former Minister of Foreign Affairs – who have asserted that the results are not worth the manpower. What response do you have to those concerns? What approach will you take to deal with these issues?

2… How do you plan to implement automatic recruitment?

3… For your reforming the Executive idea, you mention a few problems you’d like to fix but not how. How do you want to increase recruitment? How do you want to change the application system? What do you plan to replace threads with?

4… Exclusive EPSA membership is something that is often decried as being anti-Cosmo and overzealously regionalist. What say you to those concerns, particularly when you have echoed similar concerns about other proposals?

5… What reforms would you like to bring to our bots? Who will you work with to accomplish this?

6… In the Free Nations Federation, I moved away from threads towards a singular news channel as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Seeing you propose the reverse change has me curious – what benefits do you think threads have over singular channels? How does this proposal reconcile with your thoughts on threads being unproductive in parts of the government that currently DO use them?

7… You mention creating “something else to use for manual recruitment”? Do you mean a new bot? What benefits will this new bot have over the current one? As a side note, how will you ensure you have the time to personally train every recruiter, considering your scheduling concerns mentioned at the top of the campaign?

8… You mention that the Ministry of Endorsement Affairs is under the Ministry of Recruitment. Do you plan any changes in terminology to ensure this is easily understood by the public as well as the staff/leadership?

9… Looks like we had similar ideas on hosting two events per month. What ideas do you have for such events?

10… How do you plan to pursue more RMB/FRP representation in EPNS, which you name as a key goal?

11… Other than monthly pings and surveys, what role do you see Outreach playing in the Executive, if any?

12… Do you have any plans to promote WA authorship?

13… You mention wanting to make Urthians and Valsorans feel welcomed and seen. How do you hope to accomplish this?

14… For RMB announcements, do you plan to use dispatches?

15… I know this is a delicate subject but I want to address it anyway: There’s been a lot of tension lately between you and the Magisterium or you and the Praesidium. How do you intend to navigate these situations and future ones in such a way that maximizes accountability, consensus, and the democratic spirit of the EP?

  1. Could you state how, exactly, you plan to reform the Executive and EPSA?

  2. Do you have anyone in mind who can preform the bot infrastructure reform? How do you guarantee this person (you don’t need to name them) will stay for the long-term? I don’t think anyone had any doubts about our last few coders but here we are today.

  3. How did you reform the MoWAA under Cretox?

  4. Instead of multiple threads, have yuo ever thought of making a self-select “FA news reader role” that people could self-mask as and that people posting news from afar can ping?

  5. You state your EPSA reforms are to get rid of cosmo soldiers and be more strict with EPSA soldiers moving their WA back to TEP post-missions. For the first point about cosmo soldiers - beyond helping EPSA be a bit more aware of its true active manpower, how else is this going to substantially help EPSA? What other plans do you have to help rebuild EPSA?

All those questions asked, I’m going to be real here. I think your Delegacy has been doing alright so far, at least better than mine, and on a more personal level I’m very proud to see how far you’ve come.

However, you have a very strong chance of winning a third term just by being incumbent, and thus I believe it is imperative to say the following:

Your entire campaign is noting inactivity in every major area beyond FA & WAA & EPNS (but EPNS isn’t really active as it should be). No recruitment is occurring, endo affairs isn’t working, culture is simply from you/Tommo working your asses off, EPNS hasn’t released anything in a month and the last post in the EPNS workrooms was 2 weeks ago, UTEP hasn’t posted anything since Aiv resigned, you specifically state Outreach has not done a lot, EPSA is “faltering”.

Now - to be clear, most Delegates will have a couple of areas where things are an inactive mess behind the curtains. I certainly had my own. Few regions truly have the bustling Executives they show on the tin. But you have to draw the line somewhere.

My question is this: why do you think this is happening?

You note not a lot of people are interested in this or that position - is it a recruitment/talent-finding problem? You note (or as it comes to EPNS, fail to note) that some Ministers are just not doing much in the specific role of concern - is it a problem of you failing to hold them accountable and/or communicate with them? You note that it is, so that’s good! Is it a problem with the job itself i.e. is the job boring that no one wants to do it?

It’s very easy to look at things and try to make structural fixes to them. And structural fixes are not bad and are often needed. But, at least in my limited experience, if you wish to fix things then you also need to look at it from a deeper, philosophically level. Why are things not ideal in so many places and how could you theoretically fix that? is changing up the structure the only way? Hell, for some of these problems - is changing up the structure the right way?

You are potentially entering a third term in a hard role you’ve done well in. But things are changing, and you need to pivot. And while you are clearly pivoting, I caution pivoting on one level (structure) but not on a deeper level (the culture of the organization).

I’d recommend you read Emiline’s dispatch, since I think it’s helpful for region-building: https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=2567890.

I’d also recommend you to talent-find, reach out personally to people you think would be a great fit to get involved. Like how I reached out to you all those years ago to join the Exec - but take it further and match to their interests, like how Delegate Yuno put Libertanny in charge of EPNS because she matched Libertanny’s interest of writing RMB RP news articles to TEP’s need to write regional articles.

I think you have great potential to change things if you win; however, I don’t think you necessarily need as much structural innovation as you do cultural-organizational innovation.

That’s all I have to say, really. Good luck with elections and looking forward to your answers.

  1. The manpower issue can be solves by utilizing multiple different regions as co-hosts. This can help bring in more people to help organize the events and run them. I also believe that we are in a time of flourishing foreign affairs, so I believe with all the connections we have, it should not be hard to find participants. I personally believe that this can be a golden age of festivals.
  2. I plan to teach the new MoR how to run an API recruitment application, if I am allowed.
  3. I apologize that I really did not explain this. I want to increase recruitment by teaching more people how to manually recruit with the bot, as when Altys and Jo left their position, the knowledge was not passed on. Hopefully then we can get more people to use manual recruitment. Secondly I would prefer the application system to be on the forums rather than on Discord, as I feel like the forums are a more communal place and it is easier to keep track of everything. Finally I plan to replace threads with channels again, as I do not like how when a thread goes inactive, it basically disappears. For Ministries I would like channels.
  4. I was against anti-Cosmo sentiments in the citizenship of the region. I believe that in EPSA we need people that are solely dedicated to our military and are not just using it to gain citizenship in TEP through a loophole.
  5. I would like to have the bots owned by a singular person who is dedicated to TEP, I would also prefer one bot for everything, so that we may tart, recruit, etc with the same bot.
  6. I prefer threads for FA because then each region can have it’s own place to post news, so any TEPer wanting to learn about a specific region can go there. As I said, for Ministries, these threads go inactive and then people forget about them, I believe with other regions running their own threads, they will not go inactive as often.
  7. As I have said, Altys owns the current recruitment bot that has been used in the past, this is a serious issue because Altys has stopped focusing on TEP. I would prefer a bot that is owned by somone who is dedicated to TEP though and through. Also just because I will be working full-time does not mean I will not have free time to help train new people, and then once I train the MoR they can train the new staffers.
  8. I had an idea for this that I never put fully into place. Currently I have decided that MoEA will be the Department of Endorsement Affairs with a Secretary at it’s head.
  9. Of course I would like to continue Hunger Games. I would also like to do some game nights. I was thinking that maybe every other month or so we can have a big event such as a contest, so that we are not being drained by having one every month. Maybe we could also do watch parties for movies.
  10. I would like to include more references to them, such as more maps and maybe a wiki article of the month from both RPs. We could also do a RPer of the month/year where the communities nominate people for the award.
  11. Honestly, not much, they were supposed to bridge the gap between Tep Main and the RP servers, but the survey showed that most RPers do not want this. So in my next term the Ministry may be abolished if I cannot find another use for it.
  12. I do, I want to work with Cretox to make a dispatch or telegram campaign talking about the ways to get started with WA authorship and promoting proposals that TEPers write.
  13. Like I said I want to push more of their writings into EPNS. I would also just like to increase their visibility on the Discord. I am also hoping to help push legislation that helps the Valsorans and Urthians.
  14. I do plan to use dispatches. I also plan to also use the WFE to promote small changes.
  15. I plan on being more open with my communication. I want to participate in discussions, in debates, so that I can show that I am involved in this and my opinion is being put out there. There was none of this from me for the Amendment to the Citizenship Act, so I apologize profusely. I will communicate, share my opinion, and be tranparent about the actions that I will plan on taking.

Could you expand on what you’re seeing to make that claim and why you think that is? It’s difficult for me personally to know what’s going on after I was fired from the Ministry and I don’t know if many of our citizens have the perspective on FA that you do being in Cabinet and the Councils.

Could you elaborate on this claim? I personally feel like a lot of people feel less inclined to use the forums than the discord, and it’s easier to access the discord channel.

I’m sorry, I still don’t understand the distinction. Could you explain how these perceived “anti-Cosmo sentiments in citizenship” are different from closing off EPSA so cosmos can’t use it “to gain citizenship”?

How do you intend on avoiding a Vussul situation where singular person ownership ends up resulting in a potential to bring down government services and a unilateral control over tech policy?

How much activity have you noticed in the FA News channel and how many regions post at least once a week (the longest time a thread can stay ‘active’ without new posts)? Or even once a month?

Does this mean you will not allow a cosmo to commit to bot development?

Has Altys banned the government from altering the code of the bot or making decisions on open/closed source or tech sharing?

What sort of contest?

How would this mesh with Urth’s own yearly RP awards, particularly when you’re wanting to avoid any appearance of the government getting involved in RPs?

How so?

What sort of legislation do you envision? I admit I can’t think of anything that we can do on the Magisterium level to support our RPs apart from my own Resolution Recognizing Roleplay Autonomy from my Delegacy.

You answered my question with regard for autonomy, but how will you ensure that your involvement maximizes consensus and the democratic spirit of the EP?

  1. For the Executive, I kind of want to condense everything eventually, when I have the manpower to do so I feel like I may have too many ministries at this point. I would also like to reform the application for the executive. For EPSA, I would like to go more in-depth, but Dremaur has asked me not to speak on some points, which I will respect. What I can say is that we want to make EPSA a sole membership organization, which means that soldiers can only be in EPSA and no other military organizations.
  2. I do have someone in mind who has been around for a long time and has shown no sign of wavering in their fealty to TEP. And yes I understand some people can change, but I’m putting my confidence into this person.
  3. The task has not been done yet (because Emjay has been busy) but the MoWAA is now a council of people who jointly make decisions together. We have kind of been on hold waiting for the channel to be made, but after it is we can fully implement this.
  4. I have not thought of that, but I think that it may be better to have different threads so that people can see news from a specific region instead of having to search the entire channel for what they want to see.
  5. I just believe that this will help build an active group of people who are solely dedicated to EPSA, as we have had many people in the past only be in EPSA to have citizenship in TEP, not participating at all in any of the different operations. I want to help EPSA thrive, as we may as well not have an army; we have so few people. This can also be seen as my fault because I keep promoting soldiers to Viziers.

I appreciate all that you have said here. And I do believe that the inactivity issue is happening because we do not have enough people who are interested or driven to help the executive. Talent-finding is a great idea, as many of the ministries are led by someone who just applied for the role.` I never stopped to check if the ministers really had the drive or just applied so that they could have the role. And yes, as I said and you brought up again, I have not been holding my ministers responsible; I have just been letting them stay inactive, which is not what I should be doing, and I will do better. I do need to find people who have the spirit and drive for these roles, people who, on a personal level, would love to have the role and would do great in it. I also now think that I have been changing up the structure because I want to believe that’s the issue, and not that I have been failing in my duties as Delegate. I need to hold myself more accountable and take the time to find people, search for people who may be great in executive roles. I need more communication, and I need more accountability. I appreciate you bringing this up to me.

  1. We have been developing relations with new regions, deepening our relations with our existing consulates/embassies/allies. I apologize for not being transparent with what is happening in the FA, I should be making more announcements about the FA. I’m really sorry about this.
  2. I just noticed, talking to some RMB people, that they are less inclined to make a Discord account. Before I make this change I will of course conduct a survey on the RMB to see if this would be a welcome change or not. I will welcome feedback instead of making a decision all on my own.
  3. We’re closing off EPSA because people were taking advantage of it. They were joining EPSA and not participating at all, just using it for citizenship. I would rather make our citizenship process more cosmo friendly than allowing this loophole to stay in.
  4. I was thinking about this, and it may be best to have a team, 2 or 3 people. This could help prevent the threat of the one person destroying our entire infrastructure again.
  5. I don’t believe that the FA threads being inactive is a bad thing per se, it just means that they do not have as much news. I just prefer separate threads so that people can choose what regions they want to look at. I also believe that it is more pleasing to the eye as well.
  6. That is not what I’m saying, I’m just saying that I would rather have someone who is dedicated to TEP, who will not reduce their activity in the near future, they can still focus on other regions, I just want them to be dedicated to this region as well.
  7. I do not know for sure, but I, and others, just do not know how to use the bot.
  8. Any type of contests. I am particularly thinking of haiku, flag, poem, song, story; anything that requires creativity and would get people active and involved.
  9. I did think about that, we could just do RMB RPer of the month/year because Urth has their own award ceremony. I was just suggesting this so that both Valsora and Urth could be involved in this.
  10. Such as making the RP server links more obvious and making it so people know about the servers from the staff who welcome each person to the Discord. Maybe also making the RP announcements channel more visible.
  11. I was saying that generally. I do not have ideas currently, I wanted to work with people from the RP servers who had ideas for what they wanted from the government.
  12. By communicating and debating with the other people of TEP, I will also learn of their opinions and will consider those when I decide what I do with my power. I want to listen to the people and make decisions based on what they want, I do not want to go against the will of the people.
