Old District Eastrovia
Jenny’s Tavern
The soft sound of music played as Glendale walked around the tavern looking around, pondering on the events of the day, as twilight was upon the city. She looked at the time on the wall and dropped a cape on the bar for the old man to put on.
“You should really put this on. I have mine on for the reason I’m Empress and you need to put yours on for another reason; I can’t lie, you are a matter of national security,” she spoke looking at the time time. Then she looked at her PADD and crushed it on the bar.
“I am glad that I’m still an item worth keeping since I am that important,” sighing he put the cape and and watched her crush her PADD, “problem?” he asked once he had secured the cape.
“I have a lot of those today but this PADD is not my normal one so I’m not going to trust it. That is why I coded the message I sent out so it couldn’t be tracked,” pausing as she heard and floor boards creek. She suddenly turned around with her phaser but quickly eased up and smiled as she seen it was two of her closest allies."
“I’m glad to see you two,” speaking with some relief, “Jennifer, Whisper… we have a major security breach within the government itself!”
Jennifer Ward and Whisper Lynne both moved to the bar with Jennifer speaking first, “That is concerning but I figured as much so don’t worry we are fully armed and combat ready,” pulling her cape open with a smile to reveal her assortment of weapons from advanced technology to modern-day knives then continued to talk, “and I would love to kick some ass right about now.”
“And while she was cleaning out her arsenal, I have your shuttle ready and cleared for departure. We just have to get you there and off the ground. Who’s all going?” Whisper asked, pulling out a PADD and handing it over to Glendale and looking at the elderly man. “Is that who I think it is?”
“I will fill you in on the exact situation when everyone has gathered. I will be taking you two, maybe Justin, and whoever else wants to go with me,” then she looked beside her at the old man, “sadly it is but don’t worry…he’s just a clone I suppose. Been off-the-grid for almost a hundred years but when he was discovered a few years ago he had been in stasis. He now studies all the ancient books and I’m not sure if we give him the drug to correct the DNA so he can live a very long life or not.”
“Are you serious? You let him out? I hope you choose not.” Amanda Bishop spoke looking at the man in disbelief.
Jennifer quickly spoke, “how do you do that? Sneaking up on people is a specialty of yours…you would make an amazing assassin!”
Rolling her eyes Amanda responded back, “just because I’m looking younger, does not mean I want to take up a new career.”
“It’s nice to see you too, Amanda, and yes I did let him out,” Glendale spoke smiling at Amanda.
“June told me that she was going to stay at the palace to keep an eye on things there and Brendon will be issuing the press release on your “scheduled” trip of The East Pacific in the morning. Prime Emperor Daz has organized his family; they are loyal to you. Captain Maz will be your cover fire as you leave and her family has the same loyalty as the Daz Family. Sadly I can not vouch for my family nor the Phelps.” Amanda said as she found a seat on a nearby table.
“Impressive,” Glendale said, “you may be retired but you still know how to organize and I’m glad because if everyone showed up…that would lead them right to us.”
“Times have changed for the Daz and Maz families to be more respectful of the ruling family…if you let me speak to my,” the elderly man started to say but was cut off by Glendale.
“Silence! You know the agreement old man and that will only happen when you can be fully trusted. You were created for a reason and that reason is unclear but you started it all and history from that era has been corrupted.” as she finished talking she looked at the door sensing something.
“Something is wrong…Justin has been hurt…they must be baiting him to come to us…” Glendale spoke as if she was somewhere else.
Jennifer and Whisper quickly pulled out weapons and Amanda stood up pulling out a weapon herself but Glendale was already next to her pushing the weapon down. “Amanda, you must leave, because you will be on the inside. You will be the person who keeps June, Mary-Jo, Marcus, Brendon, and Katrina in the loop to figure out who is trying to assassinate me. Take him and these books to the shuttle; don’t worry he isn’t going to do anything stupid because I’m holding on to one of the books.”
“Very well! I will do as you want; this time.” Amanda said moving for the back door of the tavern. “Hurry up old man, I’m leaving,” she said as she walked out the door with the elderly man moving as quickly as he could after her with a messenger bag filled with books and notes.
Glendale, Jennifer, and Whisper then started to turn over tables and chairs to prepare for the unknown.
Meanwhile…
Eastrovia Memorial Hospital
Annielynne was hooked up to various medical machines and in critical condition after she was attacked. As she laid on the hospital bed her mind slipped into a place she had once been before as a mysterious breeze blew across the room.
Opening her eyes she realized she was no longer in the Imperial Palace, but laying in a field as she got up, she looked around. “This can’t be real…but I remember this place…Tiger…” She spoke to herself then she heard a buzz of sounds, that scared her, as they all came together to form a voice that seemed to shout all through her mind.
‘Do you remember?’ she heard in her mind but knew it came from behind her, quickly turning around, a beautiful women was standing there.
Unsure weather to run or fight Annielynne just stood looking at the women and processing what she said. “I’m not sure…I remember this place and my…animal friends…and you? But that was so long ago and I was a child…I thought it was all a dream.”
The women smiled, “come my child, your friends have been waiting for you to return, and I have been watching over you for a long time. It is time you remembered your purpose.”
Annielynne was hesitant at first but started to move towards the women and together they started to walk in silence along a path headed towards a forest.
