Interstellar Map Claims

Welcome to 2199! To reserve your spot, apply below with your nation name, capital/major systems, and a rough drawing of where you’d like your borders to be. If you’d like to be in the running for control of Urth or any other major landmarks, please mention that as well!

I would like to request the following map-claim:

Interstellar Empire Borders show with red (borders can be smoothened).

Interstellar Empire name: Order
Home planet: (In Galaxy Sraw) Eagle
Main planet: (In this Galaxy) Sculp
Language: Dregnal
Species: Greeg
Currency: Hologrem
Population: a lot…like really a lot
Leader title: Eternal Emperor/Emperor

Backstory

The Greeg was a peacful lifeform once living on a planet called M8394629251JKDGS in a Galaxy Called Sraw. The first contact with outter life was led to a doom! The Greegs almost extinct, when a young member of their last survivors decided its enough to suffer and led the Greegs into an offensive. The greegs were no match against the highly trained Gols, so they decided to make an exoskeleton which was a great help and turned the war over. Later on the Exoskeleton suit was upgraded and modernized and so it is todays. As they found out other planets that sustain life is not always habitable for themself, they decided to add an extra mask which transforms any type of air into breathable air for them. The young Greeg so called Eagle was elected into Emperor and the boy turned the peacful empire into a bloodhungry beast! After the boy death he’s son would continue and so on. And their Homeplanet was renamed Eagle! The Empire crushed the Gols and occupied more than half of their Galaxy keeping the smaller empires as puppets! The empire expanded into an other galaxy in 2100.

The Axdelian Interstellar Federation

In the beginning of space travel, Axdel piggybacked off of the infrastructure of other allied Auroran powers to keep itself in contention. However, with the discovery of the first Peregrin “Slamgate” and its mysterious properties, Axdel spearheaded its use with a large-scale automated probe mission with the intention of finding more such gates. Eventually, a probe returned to TEP, travelling far from another operational Slamgate over a thousand light years away in the direction of galactic south-east. Before any other government could react to the discovery, Axdel used what ships and resources it had at its disposal to begin colonisation of the area around the other Slamgate. They shocked every other power with the rapid establishment of the capitol world of Aquanis, and sought the monopolisation of traffic heading through the gates. This goal has not yet been realised, with the Axdelian population being thinly spread across the space, though the abundance of employment opportunities and lucrative economic potential is attracting millions of immigrants from the core worlds to the ire of the established powers there. Tensions are high, but is war inevitable?

The establishment of Axdelian naval bases within close proximity to the Slamgate also allow them to deploy extremely quickly and effectively over a large range, easily making up for their relatively meagre numbers. Axdelian naval vessels often make use of stealth and ambush tactics to improve survivability. Developing technologies being equipped on newer ships include EM-absorbant structures lining the hulls to nullify LIDAR, and directional heatsinks to mask a ships thermal presence from enemy vessels. Some attack vessels utilise only their warp drives to propel themselves and mimic the properties of an asteroid, making them extremely fearsome opponents.

The AIF is currently ruled by a small council of representatives from each system which are democratically elected. To vote, one must be 18 years or older and have either been born in an Axdelian system or been working for a certain period of time, varying from world to world. Unemployment is almost non-existent due to the extreme job demand. A major faction within the AIF is the ‘New Tomorrow Foundation’, a guild of engineers and scientists dedicated to creating a technological utopia. Wields immense influence, especially among the wealthy due to their pursuit of indefinite life extension, and are popular among the elite even outside of the AIF.

(OOC: the AIF may be open to cooperation with other powers on their side of the slamgate, and perhaps old allies. will update as more people join, so consider the above WIP)

Primary systems of the AIF:

Aquanis - Capitol world, hosts a solar power megaproject under construction among other grand schemes.

New Axdel - Most populous world and main trade hub, with immense civillian and military shipyards.

Citadel - A fortress system, notable for possessing a lifeless planet similar in size to mars within the stars Goldilocks zone. considered for biosphere colonising

Kevatuul - A desolate system separated from the rest of the AIF due to the immense quantities of helium 3 detected in the atmospheres of its gas giants.

Helium - Another system containing economically viable quantities of helium 3, aptly named so.

Arkhalis - An attractive system hosting 2 habitable planets undergoing colonisation

New Montekaan - A fortress world under military junta. possesses exotic life not affected by usual efforts to ensure the immune system can react to local pathogens

The TiBa Confederation

Quick History:
The Confederation of The United Tivotian Marketplace and The Grand Empire of Baykalia. Most people know this confusing collective as The TiBa Confederation. Relatively young, only 20 years since its establishment, The TiBa Confederation is the result of necessity; the Tivotian Marketplace, although prosperous and plentiful in its economic endeavors, desperately needed protection for its thinly-spread economic outposts, not to mention their capital and other major systems. The Baykalian Empire, although successful and strong in its military and diplomatic endeavors, desperately needed supplies and support for its military to fight off the Aigonian threat. As such, the Baykalian Grand Empress Yolana Posol XI approached the Chief Executive of the Marketplace Icarus Eknol, and struck a seemingly simple deal; Supplies for Protection, with a few other details ironed out here and there. We’ll have to see how that deal pans out in the coming years.

Tivotian Marketplace:
Being friendly with the Peregrin has its perks; unique access to a typically-restricted economic market, regarding both exports and imports, and of course there’s the occasional under-the-table slipping of some superior technologies here and there as a reward for good behavior on Tivot’s part. However, joining up with the Baykalians has forged a double-edged sword that Tivot must now tackle. Yes, Tivot now has access to both Baykalian and Peregrin markets, but Baykalia, like much the rest of the galaxy, aren’t on friendly terms with the Peregrin; it’s simply a fact of life that they choose their allies very carefully, and even still don’t place too much trust on those they do decide to call “ally” for safety’s sake. Tivot must maintain a carefully-balanced relationship between both their military protectors, and their special connections to the Peregrin.

Baykalian Empire:
It has been a long road for Baykalia; a footnote in history for the longest time, their most remarkable achievement having been their causing of one of the deadliest Old-World conflicts Urth had seen. Not something one wants to have smeared on their nation’s reputation. The subject of what many consider a holocaust in its own right, the Baykalian people have remained steadfast against the outward threats that aim to destroy them. Throughout its 400 year history, the nation would become independent from a monarchy, lose that sovereignty, gain it once more, become democratic, fall to a fascist regime, regain its democratic institutions, fall under a civil war that resulted in a century of antiquity, only to go full circle, to once again be ruled under a monarchy. That monarchy, the Posol Dynasty, has unexpectedly brought Baykalia out of its claustrophobic slice of Urth and into a wide open galaxy to explore and settle. However, that exploration has led to some nasty encounters, and as a response a hefty military has been built up for this young Empire, a military that couldn’t be sustained without external help. That’s where the TiBa Confederation comes into play, giving Baykalia the resources it needs to fight off the outward threats that, after even 400 years, still aim to destroy them.

OOC Stuff:
Tivot set up primarily near the slamgate closest to the Peregrin, for obvious reasons. In an effort to expand the markets in which Tivot operates in, they have established what are called Tivot Outlying Properties, or TOPs for short. These TOPs are settled intentionally distant from the capital, serving an ambassadorial role to the nearby star systems, learning about whatever diverse cultures they may be near, and understanding their needs as a consumer, and thusly reporting those consumer needs to TOP Prime.

Baykalia is in an ongoing war with a non-human race known as the Aigonians, a warmongering species originally inhabiting what is now Medicus Minor (see map). The Aigonians have taken to space and frequently attack any Baykalian starship or system, utilizing guerrilla war tactics to drain away Baykalian resources.

Another note, Baykalia still has territory on Urth, primarily what was Salovia and Xiopothos (hopefully that’s allowed). So I guess it’s in the running for controlling Urth sorta?

Either way, here’s the actual map claim, please let me know if I need to alter it any: https://i.imgur.com/hLPq9PD.png

The Tavari-Acronian Union
https://i.imgur.com/LUAml6L.png
Between the 2030s and the 2050s, political instability began to brew in the Acronian Empire as the political order dominated by the Church of Akrona started to crumble. Eventually, in 2052, it collapsed, and political and social unrest threatened to become outright war. The economy of Acronis collapsed, and it was only by economic intervention by its now much more economically powerful neighbor (and rival), Tavaris, that Acronis was able to avoid an outright Depression. After more than 500 years of bitter rivalry, with the collapse of the Acronian church came the last major obstacle to a political reconciliation between the enemies. In 2063, the two countries agreed to merge into a new polity: the Tavari-Acronian Union.

The relatively strong military of Acronis combined with the relatively strong economy of Tavaris made for a powerful country, but Acronis had lost ground to others on Urth after the distractions of the preceding decades. The Tavari-Union very quickly prioritized scientific resource and development as a way to regain prominence. With some research done on their own and some done in cooperation with international partners, the TAU quickly became a leader in space research. The TAU had an established, continuously-inhabited base on Olune by 2080. In 2099, TAU researchers were among those who helped engineer the first ever FTL drive. The TAU is also known - and is perhaps infamous for - conducting the first ever experiments in sending ships through a Slamgate at FTL speeds. No ships, nor anyone on them, ever returned.

By 2199, the Tavari-Acronian Union has for the most part abandoned its holdings on Urth, focusing primarily on its holdings elsewhere in the galaxy. The TAU holds 4 inhabited primary star systems, as well as several dozen outlying systems without habitable worlds. The Acronis System and the Tavaris System are the core worlds of the state, holding a majority of its population. Levat is in the same system as a non-functional Slamgate and is home to most of the TAU’s scientific research. The Renat System, the most distant from Urth, is home not only to a TAU colony world but also another intelligent, FTL-capable species called (in a grand cosmic coincidence) Asronians.

The Asronians live on a moon (which they call Asroni) with a very cold, Arctic-like climate that orbits a gas giant and is heated primarily by tidal heating. They are bipedal, humanoid beings, although they are closer to Ursines in size. They appear as if they evolved very distantly from walruses, with tusks on their bottom jaw and their bodies naturally carrying more body fat as a result of the cold climate. In addition, because their planet is more exposed to radiation, there are very thin deposits of heavy metals such as lead and cobalt in their skin that can act to insulate from radiation. It gives their skin, which is typically dark blue or dark gray, an iridescent sheen in bright light. The Asronians have been in contact with the TAU since 2161, and there are currently ongoing talks for a political integration between the two. The Asronians have more advanced energy and propulsion technology than the TAU, and their homeworld is remarkably rich in heavy metals and other minerals necessary for building ships and FTL drives, as well as thorium, needed in a style of nuclear reactor favored by the TAU. In turn, the TAU has significantly more people and more territory, and present significant options for the Asronians to peacefully expand as well as provide desperately needed labor. (The Asronians provide the latter opportunity to the TAU as well, as both states have almost non-existent unemployment in their economic emphasis on space.)

As a nation, the TAU has emphasized scientific advancement over most other factors since its formation, and on Levat they continue to fund significant research on faster-than-light travel and, most importantly, on repairing the Slamgate. In fact, the Slamgate is rapidly becoming an all-consuming focus of the TAU government, to the potential detriment of other priorities. Civil rights advocates have been complaining for years that civil liberties are being eroded as the government seeks to control more information and direct people into fields of study and employment that assist the Slamgate effort. A multi-ethnic state consisting of three different communities of elves, as well as humans and felines - not to mention the increasingly present Asronians - the TAU has been prone to tension, and unrest is beginning to stir. People question the increased role of the government in placing people in schools and jobs as well as in the media, the decreased transparency in what kind of research the government funds, increased police presence, and some are distrustful of the Asronians.

(OOC: The Asronians are, like, blue space orcs. I can change the name if you feel it necessary, but I actually first invented the name “Acronis” to be the name of a species of aliens and I wanted to honor that in this RP. Let me know if there’s anything that needs changing.)

The Interstellar Fortunan Empire

The final years of the Fortunan Empire on Urth marked a dark period for them, a time where unending conflicts with Fortuna’s enemies led to the complete annihilation of the Aspirian Isles. In order to preserve the Empire, the Fortunan Science and Engineering Department (FSED) under Director Alayna Avley helped the remnants of Fortuna to escape into the vastness of space using stolen FTL technology. Jumping through the nearby Slamgate, the Fortunan remnants ended up in a far corner of what would be civilized space and immediately went to work rebuilding themselves up once more.

Under the control of the Departmental Directorate, the newly formed Interstellar Fortunan Empire (IFE) quickly gained control of the surrounding star systems around the Celaeno System where they made the habitable planet of Guido home. In order to fulfill needed manpower, great strides were taken by the FSED in the development of more advanced AI and robotics. More advanced spacecraft and defensive technologies were also at the forefront to ensure that what happened back on Urth would never happen again. This also allowed for the IFE to further expand and set themselves up as a prominent power in their corner of the space. In recent times, the FSED has turned the Empire’s attention to a nearby inactive Slamgate as researchers have begun looking into how to reactivate it. However, that might be the least of their concerns as their fellow interstellar nations continue to grow in power as well. This time though, Fortuna is now prepared for any possible conflict.

The Tretridian Star Empire

Tretrid was one of the pioneering countries in the use of FTL technology. Though they never produced the alcubierre drive in large scales, they had built a small fleet of FTL exploration ships by 2102, only 3 years after the first prototype FTL ship was created.

Tretrid saw this as an opportunity to revive an empire that had been dead for half a century, but not only would they seek dominance over Western Novaris, they chose to colonize a region on the edge of explored space.

Through a series of diplomatic maneuvers over the century, as well as wars and underhanded backwater deals, Tretrid controlled much of the western coast of Novaris, to the point where it almost had its old colonial empire from prior to the 1650s.

Tretridian colonization of these regions have gone largely without incident. The interstellar colonies of Tretrid have very few cities with a high population density, so the great cities of Cynebury and Sigested on Urth had the greatest population density of the entire empire, and Cynebury remains the capital.

However, some people have their doubts about answering to a government many light-years away on Urth, and a few people have started clamoring for home rule in the interstellar colonies. As malcontent grows, no one is sure what will become of the Tretridian Star Empire…

The Tretridian Empire’s worlds are rather similar to Urth, but it would be futile trying to describe conditions on these planets, as they vary as much as they do on Urth.

 1. New Cynebury
 2. New Sigested

The Meagharian Interstellar Stratocracy

Meagharia as a nation experienced some major growing pains. After a long civil war the nation was initially impoverished. However with immense effort by the nations leadership the nation hit an economic boom claiming its entire island chain incredibly quickly through military and economic might. At the same time they experienced a population boom making their army even more intimidating. Eventually the now somewhat expansionist meagharian government began to look towards the island of Irnak. An oppurtunity arrived when after a Martovist revolution Durakia quickly colonized all of irnak bringing the dwarven natives under a cruel oppression. Using this as a cassus beli Meagharia declared war on durakia with the dwarves rising up to help regain their lost homeland. Annexing the island the meagharians helped the dwarves integrating them fully into meagharian society.

By the time of the discovery of Faster Than Light travel meagharia had long healed from their old struggles. Meagharia invested a large amount into the sciences leading to several Meagharian Scientists being on the team that perfected FTL Travel. When the research was concluded Meagharia threw itself face first into Interstellar Colonization soon establishing a decent set of colonies. Over the decades their population gradually began moving from Urth to the colonies, despite the indefensibility of the old islands through their alliance and close relationship with Tretrid they managed to hold onto them as a symbolic possession. As the economic power of the Colonies increased the General Staff and the Centurions Assembly moved to the newly built Capital World of Meaghar. There a new government was declared. The Meagharian Insterstellar Stratocracy.  To keep its military superior as possible to the others Meaghariainvests a large amount of their resources into superior technology and stellar tactics, with Meagharian Starfighters being the pride of the Stratocracy many of the most recent models having rudimentary cloaking technology that is on the cutting edge of technological advancement.

Planets

Meaghar- The Capital of the Stratocracy and the biggest population center, the planet is incredibly highly urbanized with the sections of the planet surrounding the largest cities showing the landscape having been replaced entirely by Urban Sprawl, it is also where the General Staff and Centurions Assembly meet.

Viele- Viele is a planet rich in minerals and other natural resources which are used to fuel Meagharian industry and military hardware. The planets atmosphere is utterly inhospitable so to extract the resources from its surface space elevators are used to connect to complexes where small teams of miners and engineers extract resources using automated systems. It is rumored that whatever element or compound fuels Meagharian cloaking technology is found exclusively on Viele.

Gardinar- Gardinar is a large agrarian world where much of the food that the Stratocracy needs is grown. The extremely valuable and fertile farmland of the planet is controlled by a combination of independent farms and state owned plantations where prisoners are sent to relearn the discipline of society by providing for it. Much of the planets farmland remains unclaimed  for now.

Abner- Abner is a small habitable dwarf planet that is mainly a base for the study of the nearby Slamgate, the Slamgate is one of the derelicts but the team of scientists in charge of the Abner Slamgate are working to decipher the old Peregrin technology and reactivate it allowng the Stratocracy to travel much quicker throughout the galaxy.

Vaarkyrszrun Xerat (VX)

The invention of the Coordinated Reflux Axial Turbo Encabulator (or CRATE for short), was one of the pivotal developments that ultimately led to the possibility of Faster Than Light travel at a macromolecular scale - until then, although transporting material at such speeds was possible, it was limited to particles less than 3.5x10^-19 grams (the Hardie Limit). With a design that allowed it to manipulate fluctuations in the quark field, the CRATE expanded the limit to approximately five million metric tons.

Vaarkyrszrun Xerat translates roughly into Codexian as “The Xeran United Worker’s Republic”, and although it has since expanded beyond its first colony, the name has stuck. The nation is commonly referred to as VX, pronounced “vee-ecks”, despite the fact that that is not how the letter X is pronounced in Vaaran.

One of the benefits of this masterpiece of engineering being developed at the prestigious Azmarin/Zlovskavaar University in the Kyriat Workers’ Republic was the rights to a colony ship, which arrived in a far corner of known space in 2103, at the planet of Kestarun in the Xera system. The planet was quickly discovered to have a rather high level of background radiation, but by that point they were hardly going to turn back.

The high levels of radiation on Kestarun have caused numerous problems for VX citizens over the years, but with proper technology, most of them are being managed fairly well. However, many of the beneficial traits, such as a further-increased lifespan, an upgrade from tetrachromacy to pentachromacy, and resistance to ionizing radiation (useful), have stuck. Differences in appearances from the dark elves of Borea have also been embraced, in an effort from the Kestarun government to distance themselves culturally from Kyrias. These include horns, a spaded tail, and bat-like wings. This has inevitably led to frequent derogatory comparisons with demons, to which a typical Vexrei will jokingly reply: “Oh, so that means you’re scared then?”

The government of VX is adapted from the Elerist model of bureaucracy, which incorporates a command economy into a directly elected party structure, with plenty of influence from trade unions. The currency is the Tirasz (TRS). The purchasing power of one tirasz will vary depending on what planet you’re on, but a general rule to go by is that a serving of rutschainra, a popular Vexreit dish of steamed fish and stir-fried vegetables on a bed of rice, will usually set you back around ⫄30.

Territories:

Kyrias (Kyriat Workers’ Republic / Tsreirenu’a is’Kyrias) - the entire continent of Borea + nearby island chains, population 215 million. Major cultural importance, of course, and mostly detached from internal VX politics, due to its unique situation of not having universal jurisdiction over the entire planet.

Colonies:

 1. Kestarun - capital. Temperate, agrarian with a few mega-cities, somewhat irradiated. Has a little bit of everything, and over two thirds of the population of VX.
 2. Sari’ia - a short hop away from a deactivated slamgate. Colder and less irradiated.
 3. Dzhaoran - the centre of primary industry given its proximity to many mineral-rich (and helium-3-rich) systems.
 4. Tikturás - not particularly interesting, but slightly higher gravity means all the best rugby players are born here.
 5. Tsólsovaar - also close to many lucrative systems, but enforcement issues mean the region is dogged with pirates.
 6. Furiszkaln - VK’s first attempt at “High-Order Sustainability”. Unlike other systems, permanent immigration from Kestarun is usually prohibited.
 7. Heru’as - VK’s most recent completed colony, not counting five others currently in development, the first estimated to be finished by the start of the centenary celebrations, and the rest due to open between then and the centenary of the establishment of Kestarun in 2203.

The Association of Eastern Yasterian Nations
(Note: Kashinko, King Rico, and Ongo will also control the AEYN alongside me, this is a joint claim.)

Inhabited Systems:

 2. Nidavellir
 3. Hoshiguma
 4. Ambarino
 5. Skagutanaklori (the capital)
 6. Simoria
 7. New Shinsu
 8. Karhumisenklorun
 9. Asetuskanklori

Seeking to band together for protection, wealth, and power, the nations of Fuso, Auraliyu, Kasmiyland, Crania, Valokchia, and Asendavia (the last two having already split Luthaiya between themselves) created the Association of Eastern Yasterian Nations in the late 2020s. With the guarantee that each nation would largely retain their own sovereignty within the confederation, a weak central government was established to head the association. With little opposition, the Association soon annexed the nations of Kelssek, RNH, and Algaisia, splitting their lands between its members. With its borders largely secure, the Association focused on internal development and explored as much of the solar system as was possible with no FTL technology.

With the development of FTL drives in 2099, the Association’s members brought all of their scientist’s together to try and develop their own working drives. In 2101, their work culminated in a prototype FTL drive. A small fleet of ships were soon created and equipped with the drive. After multiple successful tests of the drive, colony ships were sent out individually by the member nations to claim new worlds for the AEYN. By 2199, the AEYN’s central government had long since moved to the primarily Asendavian world of Skagutanaklori. Despite the government’s move, its land on Urth still held much cultural and political significance as the homeland of the Association. Currently, the central government is only in charge of foreign diplomacy and a combined military (which is made up of the militaries of the member nations), with the member nations given vast swaths of autonomy to do whatever they want.

Collected Tawusian Colonies (CTC)

History surrounding formation:

The Collected Tawusian Colonies, or CTC, is a sparsely populated handful of systems fragile but efficient. Tawuse, a relatively small but densely populated nation, became dependant on its stringent neighbours for the trade of essential resources. Lacking space for essentials such as agriculture and industry, Tawuse began to look outward to support its increasingly hungry population. Unlike other spacefaring nations, Tawuse was unable to spearhead its own space programme due to its technological ineptitude during a time of depreciation and was predicted to collapse due to the ecological and economical constraints surrounding the nation at the time.

However, this changed with the formation of the Tawusian Exploration Agency. More commonly referred to as TEA, the agency launched a plethora of automated probes within nearby space hoping to discover candidates for industry and agriculture. Following a series of discoveries within other nations, Tawuse was able to man its first expeditions into uncharted space thanks to the invention of FTL travel and the discovery of the slamgate.

Current situation:

Tawuse relied heavily on the sharing of technology and despite other nations having state of the art FTL drives within their fleets, The CTC uses a model of carrier capable of carrying the immense payload needed to fuel this outdated drive. To travel, Tawusians board carriers, akin to passengers on a ferry, to other inhabited systems. Subspace travel is commonplace between intra-system destinations. Despite CTC headquarters being in Altomaré, the historic cultural and political centre for Tawuse’s Urth residents, a colonial authority has been established on a handful of inhabited worlds.
(to be expanded upon)

Key systems include:

•Fattoria- The first system the CTC expanded into. This is where many emigrants from the homeland settled. Fattoria is small but agriculturally prominent world. With gravity of only 0.6G, inhabitants are known for their slightly slender structure and supplemental cybernetics used to offset the effects of muscle atrophy. Due to its arid climate, water is harvested from detritus orbiting ice giants within the system. Fattoria is the parenchyma capable of providing the turgidity needed to maintain national stability. Many are leaving for the frontier colonies.

•Ferracco- Despite not containing a planet with a habitable atmosphere, Ferracco is a system rich in metals. The large moons of gas giants within this system provide the perfect spot for subterranean cities and agricultural domes. Ferracco contains the FTL cortex (a station at the conflux of FTL shipping lanes) and houses 3/5 of the nation’s shipbuilding facilities.

• Currborant- Large fuel refineries due to the system containing viable amounts of Helium. Quickly depleting. Tankers which fuel FTL carriers throughout CTC space come here to refill. Home of the largest defence fleet within CTC space. (defence fleets to be expanded upon).

• Colonis- system containing newly discovered habitable world with gravity much more comforting compared to Fattoria. Widespread colonisation of the system is underway. Rings contain a surplus of minerals resulting in rapid industrialisation. (the s is silent)

Just a little update to some of of my systems, since I have now settled on population figures:

 • New Axdel should have its icon updated to show it has over 1 billion in the system

 • and Aquanis to show it has hundreds of millions

In total, the AIF has a total population of about 1.7-1.8 billion

Claim for Los sistemas solares independientes de Tortuga (The Independent Solar Systems of Tortuga), or Tortuga, for short.
(i can also provide a gimp file. just DM or ping me.)
(the grey is the no man’s land between the AEYN and Tortuga)
Google Photos
(History is still a WIP and shouldn’t yet be considered 100% canon)

For this AU, I’m going all out. Tortuga is much more different in this timeline, having occupied hundreds, if not thousands, of islands in and around the Packilvanian Ocean, Mostraybishlian Sea and the Pacific Ocean. In a certain time frame, the nation went into an island-grabbing frenzy as people started departing for space. They inherited several islands in UFSEY after most of the population left, leaving the islands open. These annexations combined with a very high birth rate for such a developed country caused a massive population spike, which would’ve been unmanageable if it weren’t for Bailu Island (AKA Bai Lung. I assume it’s fine if I use his island in the AU since he’s a bot :p).

Sadly, countless decades of mismanagement of the environment caused the globe to warm and the oceans rose. Tortuga was still an island nation, and this posed a massive risk for them. An evacuation on a scale never before seen was ordered, and most of the budget was sunk into venturing in the great unknown: Space, the final frontier. As the masses regrouped onto Bailu Island while the sea around them engulfed their homes. They could only look ahead. Looking back could make even the most resilient of souls lose hope. The road ahead would not be easy, but when was it ever? Luckily, technology was already passed a point that made inter solar system exploration very simple and effective, so the use of the functional slamgate in the nearby Regis system allowed for the discovery of a system they dubbed “Kéya,” after the World Turtle.

The planet of New Cáscara acted as their new Urth-like planet and now the home of the still-thriving Gallegos turtles. A period of rapid space exploration ensued, as the Tortuguienses quickly discovered that nearly no one had settled so close to Tep. The only civilisations the ever encountered were the Association of Eastern Yasterian Nations while exploring around Veloci (a “no man’s land” is the de facto law for the border between both land claims) and TOP 3, a TiBa Confederation outpost.

Today, Tortuga has mostly ceased expanding its claim, preferring to fully take advantage of all the planets now under their rule. The central capital is still located in the Kéya System, acting as the seat of government and the most populated planet of the bunch. Being so close to Tep and having always been very open to immigrants and refugees, the population has kept growing through those means. They are currently going through a cultural revolution of sorts, with new ideologies and ideas stemming from the adaptation of the old to fit within the presence of the space surrounding them.

The Imperial Confederated Commonwealth of Kommosant is a confederacy formed by the joint nations of OFAC (New Leganes, South Peragen, Valerijk, Vivancantadia, Sokala, Iphelklori, Yadylika, and Karishkanov) through unification with the Imperial Vistari Confederation in 2124. It’s Urth territories stretch across most of the continent of Arcturia, as well as reaching up in Western Yasteria and Eastern Gondwana through the territories formerly under the Vistari Empire, as well as the West Pacific outpost of K’undzeti and the Peper Isles. However, as the state progressed the focus on interstellar colonization has led to them basing themselves around the systems of Arsallica and Sterviel, expanding out to a considerable area of interstellar territory.

The ICCK was formed through two agreements. The Arsal Agreement, ratified in 2117 by the Cooperative Assembly of Acrturia, saw closer integration between the 8 signatory entities, as well as the full integration of the space programs of the states, forming the Cooperative Continental Space Organisation (CCSO), which cooperated with the Imperial Vistari Interstellar Authority (Often known internationally as “VIA”) to co opt operations in colonization. The Second founding Agreement was the Poberhaven Agreement, seeing the merger of the Cooperative Assembly with the Imperial Parliamentary Council, forming the Imperial Confederated Commonwealth of Kommosant under Empress Marium II, daughter of Emperor Hendrik IV the Reformer and King Otan the Exile. This controversial treaty saw the formerly Vistari Monarchy also become the Monarchy of Arcturia, seeing the Vistari word Kommosant used to describe the union.
