Isthmia was founded after a collection of states all formed a union to compete with the local nations of the continent, they set up a trade network, a common currency and a defensive pact, eventually they officially joined as a single nation.
Throughout the late half of the 1st millennium, Isthmia began to expand its influence and ability to compete in the region, also establishing a strong industry, strong institutes of learning and a modern national military.
Isthmia began to open up its diplomacy, get more involved in world affairs, and absorb sports from other cultures, creating formidable leagues in American Football, Association Football, Baseball, Basketball and Ice Hockey.
Isthmia also has grown its population and overall development at an exponential rate since the 1780s.
Isthimia in the modern day maintains a small military, they prefer to be peace keepers. The average Isthimian earns a generous wage, however this does make Isthimia a rather expensive country to live in.
Isthimia is home to the weathly cities of Telva and Siloži, both of which are seen as culturally and historically beautiful, and physically stunning.
However, the city of Ludga has unfortunately seen better days, in the last century it has become the home and headquarters of vicious mobster families, crime syndicates and evil organizations. Ludga has also seen huge corruption at every major local government level, with many high to middle ranking officials being on a payroll from a organized crime group.
