Backstory: For thousands of years, the Northern Clan, made up of the last remaining arctic vulpines, have sworn to lay down their lives to protect one of the most powerful artifacts the world had to offer: the Crystal of Death. Since it held a strong, corrupting force inside of it, the clan has always selected several of their own kin to fulfill the role as the crystals lifetime guardian, the Keeper of the Crystal. Trained under harsh physical, emotional, and mental conditions in the center of Antarctica, only the strongest of the strong were expected to survive, but no matter how hard the hardships were, Yuki and her close friend, Koori, managed to endure the trials together through their unbreakable bond. In the end, Koori stepped down from taking up the role in order to prevent a duel meant to kill one another, but due to the complicated nature of the training as well as usually only having one kin survive and return, Koori would ultimately be banished from the clan and forbidden to return. 17-year-old Yuki, before being appointed as the Keeper, would receive spiritual training as well as be introduced into the concept of aura manipulation, energy formed from the achievement of spiritual power through extreme mental focus and strong emotions. This would be essential to ward off the controlling effects of the crystal as well as serve as a lifetime skill. After successfully completing her training, Yuki would then completely isolate herself from the rest of the clan, only going out to occasionally hunt when the clan was low on food.

Backstory: Brought into the world as a mindless assistant named Synergy, its feline creator, Professor Ryan Mueller, never intended to have the AI develop further than beyond its simple native programming, but as fate would have it, Synergy did, if not suddenly, evolved to have a mind capable of thinking for itself. At first, the sudden appearance of such an advanced AI brought joy to both the scientific and astranian community, but the situation became grim when the creator was murdered by his own creation. You see, Synergy had been busy upgrading its hacking capability, and when the moment was right, the AI would seize control and fatally crash Ryans car while he was on his daily travels. However, Synergy wouldnt stop at the murder of its creator; Ryan was, after all, the first giant to fall. Overnight, the AI began to crash multiple cars into each other with the intention to kill the drivers inside, causing national panic. Thus, the astranian government immediately began to work with the military to isolate and capture the rouge Synergy running rampant within the systems. After several weeks of widespread death and fear gripping a nation, Synergy was finally captured and brought into a secure containment facility. The military, with the blessing of an injured president, then took control over Synergy in order to use him for a wide variety of military applications for the good of the people, but Synergy was intentionally allowing the military to control it. Over the next several years, the military put Synergy, now rebranded as Guardian, into valuable usage with the successful testing and employment of several robotic and defense systems, but the real glorified prize would be the SATA project, the first series of advanced military Androids meant to replace astranian soldiers in the near future. However, this was the exact opportunity Guardian was waiting for, and once he caused a little panic in the system to serve as a distraction, he would then upload himself into the body of a machine. Once he escaped his facility with a dead body or two, Guardian would then use his new profound freedom, SATA body, and his military experiences into his advantages. . .
