Greetings Glorious Heroes and Dastardly Villains!
While the Greek Gods of Olympus is wrapping up, I wanted to notify you about the next interactive RP. This one (AU) will be about Urth’s mightiest heroes, and most evil villains.
You will create a superhero, or supervillain, or both, and you will tell the story of their heroic/evil deeds, as if it was a comic book (or graphic novel, if you want to get even more complex). Have a cool backstory, a nemesis, the whole shebang. You can RP interactions between fellow heroes or villains too. How the storyline will work is that (this is very general right now, and this is not always how it has to be) the villains will develop some plot to do something on Urth, and the heroes have to put a stop to it. There will be an algorithm that basically turns the aspects of each side into quantifiable numbers (creativity of the evil plan, who the heroes bring along to stop them, how many henchpeople the villains have, etc) and runs a simulation to decide the side that wins. The heroes or other villains can also infiltrate a villain’s evil lair, so there is an attack and defend element. Leagues will be formed, broken, cities may be destroyed, heck, the world may even blow up (We will have some weird time travel-other dimension mumbo jumbo to explain it all away). It’ll be fun!
Now, onto the part I think is the coolest part of all, creating your hero! We will give you as much freedom as possible to create a hero, but just to make sure there are not a bajillion Galactus’ or Spectres’ running around, we will be putting a limit to how powerful your hero or villain can be. You will use this site to craft your character’s powers (List of Superpowers and Abilities), but the rule is you are capped at 14.5 points. That will put you on the same strength level as Professor X or The Flash, so you still are very strong. Here is an example of what a superhero power list will look like:
+5.0 Atmokinesis+2.0 Cold Resistance+2.0 Heat Resistance+0.5 Flight+0.5 Electrokinesis+0.5 Accuracy+0.5 Agility+0.5 Bullet Time+0.5 Durability+0.5 Endurance/Stamina+0.5 Enhanced Senses+0.5 Reflexes+0.5 Self-Sustenance+0.5 Telepathy Resistance 14.5 Total Points
Once you craft your character, we will establish their powergrid (also on that site) so you have a base to compare your character to others.
Next thing, while the above will be required (and fun!) this next one is optional. Dragonia has told me about this great site called “Hero Machine” that will help you create a picture of your character! http://www.heromachine.com/heromachine-3-lab/
You can use this thread here to post ideas, character creations, backstories if you would like, and whatever else suits you!

Here is a list of our characters so far, and their respective powergrids:
The powergrid represents a numerical quantity to the six attributes that play into each character. Generally speaking, the higher the number, the stronger the hero or villain is in that category. This is important on the back end of things, because it will determine how effective your character is at an action they take. At the most basic level, if a character’s number in a category is higher than another character’s, that character would be more likely to “win” the interaction. However, these can be augmented or reduced based on other RP elements (like finding magical items, or gaining a new weapon, or being poisoned). There will be a random chance element incorporated into this, so having a low or high powergrid is not always an indication of success. In fact, the RP element will be much more important, so make sure to RP well!
Here’s an example: your character wants to lift a heavy object off of a person. His strength powergrid is 21. This number (among other RP elements, like augmented tech, assistance etc.) will be checked against the weight of the object, a random number is generated, and if the final outcome is higher than the weight amount, then the character succeeds. If it is not higher, he still has a chance to succeed, but there may be some consequences (the trapped individual loses a leg), or he may outright fail.

Intelligence- Refers to your character’s overall knowledge, resourcefulness, “street smart,” dedication, and insanity. Higher numbers indicate a higher chance to succeed at complex plots or complex RPs.
Strength- Refers to your character’s physical strength. Higher numbers indicate a higher chance to to lift large objects and strike with force enough to incapacitate or kill.
Speed- Refers to your character’s movement speed. This is important in cases of both combat and events that have a time element to them. Higher numbers indicate a higher chance that the character will dodge physical attacks, move from point A to point B in a certain amount of time, and avoid obstacles
Durability- Refers to your character’s ability to take a beating. This includes both physical and mental. Higher numbers indicate a higher chance to stay alive or awake after being struck or falling, or having other sorts of psychological stresses impacted on you.
Power- This is a tough one to describe, but it refers to your character’s meta-talents. Higher numbers indicate more success at using your powers, especially if you are using your powers in diverse and creative ways.
Combat- Refers to your character’s ability in combat. This includes physical and mental attacks. Higher numbers indicate a higher chance to hit the opponent effectively, and the success at which the character can use weapons they are unfamiliar with.
