Public Thread for the Judicial Review “Rights of Bots”

The Conclave acknowledges the request for Judicial Review as submitted by Citizen Vussul.

The following procedures will be followed. The Conclave shall, according to its standing orders, convene to determine whether to confirm or deny this request. If accepted, the Conclave will follow the appropriate procedures of Judicial Reviews as follows:

This Review has been confirmed by a 3/3 vote of Arbiters and is now under deliberation.

As per Section 2.4.a. of the SOC, Citizens are welcome to bring forth relevant laws/precedent to the Conclave (can go as far as a brief on your own legal arguments if you wish, as is traditional).

Day late but per the mandated SOC weekly update, the content of a potential verdict has been written, just needs to be formatted into a draft verdict and go to vote. Will try getting that process moved forwatd in a few days.

The Concordat defines Residents as “individual[s] with one or more nations residing within The East Pacific Region.” Necessarily, individuals are not nations themselves. The plain meaning of “individuals” here is the person operating a nation account. A person running a bot account is therefore a Resident. The bot itself is not a Resident, but rather the nation which confers Resident status upon the person.
