Jurei Agression

Imperial Palace, Yatahago City

Emperor Saicho was tapping his fingers on his desk impatiently, waiting for his ministers to arrive for an urgent emergency meeting. He stared at the large oak-wood double doors, straight across from his desk; waiting for it to move.

The first to arrive was the old and experienced looking Jantei Saiteohago, the prime minister now serving his second term. Behind him was the always sad and serious looking Hue-ge Tasho, defence and internal affairs minister. They marched in, both in dark grey suits and archive bags with them.

“Your majesty” they both said while bowing in a ceremonial way.

Emperor Saicho nodded "Gentlemen, we have a dire situation ahead. Today I have heard the Jurei Freedom Movement attacked a military outpost, not far from Jureias. This outrage can not be tolerated and I can only think of one thing, war. he stated, pressingly.

The prime minister nodded and spoke. “Indeed your highness, parliament has almost reached to an agreement here, it seems it is indeed the only option.” He paused and nodded to Hue-ge Tasho, who motioned for him to carry on. “We have tried to contact the Jurei local parliament, but they are not answering to anything. According to some army observations, they are also building a wall near the border.”

The prime minister took out an archive from his bag and handed it over to the emperor. “Take a look at this sir, it is the entire observation on this agression and our current military force available.” he said, with a faint smile.

The emperor mumbled some words as he read the documents thoughtfully “I hope you have prepared a speech, prime minister.” the Emperor took some documents from his desk and started signing them, after which he applied the Kandorese Royal Seal. “We are at war, you are dismissed.” the emperor said, as he slowly got up from his chair and handed over the declaration of war to Jantei Saiteohago.

The two ministers nodded and bowed, before backing off and walking out of the door, towards parliament.

Tian e Heavu Furei, A few hours later

Masses of people began to swarm the Square of Heavenly Freedom, as did the press of several national and international news agencies. The square itself was decorated in an almost scary nationalistic way, flags and banners decorating the pillars surrounding the square. At the front of the square a large stage, with multiple Kandorese flags was being prepared for the Prime Minister to give his speech.

The crowd cheered and yelled praises, as the prime minister approached the small speaking booth on the stage. Slowly he adjusted the microphone, read over the papers in his hand for a brief moment and motioned for silence.

He looked into the crowd, coughed slightly to clear his throat and began his speech.
“People of Kandorith, today is an important mark in our history of national stability. As you may have heard, the Jurei proclaim to be an independent nation and have destabilized our own politics. We, the ministers of parliament and the emperor agree that this is an utter outrage.” He paused for a moment and took time to drink some water from the glass, standing on the booth.
He coughed slightly again and spoke. “This outrage, will not go unanswered. The crimes of war and terror against the state, are not unnoticed. Their terror network, who call themselves the Jurei Freedom Movement, will be brought to justice!” A loud cheering began as the people could not contain their nationalism, but were asked for silence yet again. “I, Prime Minister Jantei Saiteohago, in the name of his divine highness, the emperor; declare war against the Jantei free-state.”
The flashes of cameras was overwhelming, almost as overwhelming as the cheers coming from the people on the square. The prime minister bowed to the flags on the stage and walked off, the media still filming and photographing the emotions of the people on the square.

Soucho Province, near the Jurei free-state border, 15 minutes after the speech

“All right, first strike division get in line. prepare to move out!” Sergeant Makote shouted trough the communication, to all other tank drivers.

Slowly but surely the massive TP-90 tanks got in line, with roaring engines and their playing reflecting in the sunlight. The Sergeant raised a sword and trusted it forwards, after which the first line of tanks started moving towards the harsh, Jantei Desert"

OOC: Any nation is invited to contact the emperor, ministers and get involved with this war for stabilization, questions for more information about this conflict, I will happily answer ASAP. And please be kind, this is the first RP I am starting myself.

Parliament of Lazlowia

László Lukács, representative from Leninváros: “My question is a short one, so I get right to the point. What is the Council’s official stance in regards of Kandorith’s recent military actions against the insurrection in the Jurei Province? Thank you.”

(Applause)

Gyõzõ Makrai, President of the Parliament: “Thank you, comrade Lukács. I now give the word to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jázon Radics. Comrade Radics, you have two minutes to reply.”

Jázon Radics, Minister of Foreign Affairs: “Thank you, comrade President. Comrades, the recent situation in Kandorith is not without precedent. We have seen similar events during the breakup of Yugoslavia. Currently the conflict in Kandorith does not threaten the security of our nation, therefore we plan no intervention. However, let it be made clear, that our government does not approve the actions of Kandorith. Let the imperialists fight between themselves, but ultimately the people will judge.”

(Applause)

Fedir Arseni, Vulshainian ambassador to Kandorith, sent a message to the Kandorese Prime Minister Jantei Saiteohago, asking if there was anything Vulshain could do, although due to recent events in Vulshain, all that the Vulshainian Confederacy could do was act as a mediator between the two sides.

Fedir also beefed up security at the Vulshainian embassy.

OOC: I’m guessing that I have an embassy. And could you PM me about the history of what’s going on, please?

Kandorese Parliamentary building

“A message arrived from Vulshain, sir.” One of the two guards near the gates said, as Prime Minister Jantei Saiteohago walked towards his office. He nodded slowly and looked the man straight in the eyes. “Has the information been send towards my office without any trouble or delay?” he asked pressingly. The guard saluted and raised his voice. “Absolutely sir!” The prime minister nodded and walked onwards.

As the Prime Minister entered his office, he looked around carefully, before taking a seat in a large wooden chair. Slowly he began reading trough his, as what he refers to as “daily mail” with a frown on his face.

He picked up the horn of his phone and slowly pressed in a sequence of numbers, still frowning and awaiting on a reply. A rather high-pitched voice spoke on the other side of the line. “What can I do for you sir?” Saiteohago waited for a short minute and spoke. “Mari, send word to the Vulshain embassy on high priority. Tell them that a diplomatic voice in this conflict is highly appreciated… especially to keep greedy and hungry wolves off our backs, especially when we are depicted as the bad guys.” the person on the other line was writing down everything the minister said rapidly, the sound of a pen touching paper sounding trough the horn. “Right away sir, highest priority.” she said. The prime minister turned his head to look outside for a minute and returned his attention back to the phone conversation again. “Thank you, ooh and… bring me something strong to drink, that is all.” With that last line he put the horn back on the phone, slowly leaning back in his chair, waiting for a drink.

Jurei Front - Meiras

This is KNBC news, Lisho Yaru reporting live from the battlefield in Jurei. As you can see, the Kandorese tanks are moving into the town of Meiras. The resistance so far has been weak, but gunfire can be heard now and then from…" he was interrupted by a large bang and a puff of smoke to the far left of the view. “Soldiers! Battle formation! We are under attack! Open fire!” a voice shouted, over an intercom.
Lisho Yaru returned in view with his hand covering his head, as if he tried to use it as a helmet. “Apparently the First Strike Force has hit resistance and mortar rounds are being fired towards the tanks of our army. We are in the heat of the action now, while the order was given to take the town by force.” The reporter ducked slightly again as sounds of mortar impacts, bullets and rockets now seemed to rain down towards the Strike Force. “I do not know if you can still hear me, but it is absolute hell here!” the man shouted, looking worried. “We have hit heavy Jurei resistance and are under heavy fire, two tanks have been badly damaged somewhere in this mess of bullets, mortars and sand!” He paused for a minute, catching his breath. “The sergeant of this division has already requested air support , as the view is near to zero, we will still be reporting and shut off the camera!” In a flash of seconds the view was filled with a burning tank, the people inside desperately trying to get out. Not many seconds later the screen turned black.

A shocked looking man in the KNBC studio appeared on the TV screen. “I am sorry ladies and gentlemen, it seems we are having some technical difficulties with re-establishing contact to the war zone. Stay tuned as we try to re-establish contact, while we cover the daily news.” The man said as he shuffled trough some papers on his desk, eventually returning to the normal daily news. The most notable being; Kandorith closing all road access to and from Jurei and images from the war-zone, earlier on the day.

Fedir Arseni watched the news report of the conflict in Jurei and wasn’t happy to what he was seeing. He had already received the message from the Prime Minister. He decided it was time for action. He began calling Prime Jantei Saiteohago at once.

Yatahago Metropolis, Home of Saiteohago

((Joint post with Vulshain))

An annoying and loud ringing sound could be heard troughout the hallways, as the prime minister tried to rush towards the phone. Eventually he reached his working desk and while picking up the phone he turned on the news.

“Saiteohago here, can I help you?”

“Yes Prime Minister Saiteohago, this is Ambassador Fedir Arseni of the Vulshainian Embassy. I’m calling in regards to what is going on in relation to the Jurei conflict. I already got your message but from what has recently happened as I just saw on the news, I wanted to see if we could help resolve this conflict peacefully and quickly before terrorist organizations decide to jump in and make things even worse.”

Saiteohago let out a small sigh of relief, hearing a friendly voice on the line for once. “Well, it already got somewhat worse, but it seems like we have most of the situation under control. Talks are always welcomed, but I doubt this can be solved peacefully. We tried to resolve this peacefully before, give the Jurei their own state, just as we did with the Tsching-to Federation. These Jurei seem to be everything but agreeable. They want this war I think. You see, it was not my first choice to let tanks roll into my own country, in-fact it happened after years of threats, miscommunication and attacks.” The prime minister paused for a minute, focusing on his TV, before returning to the phone conversation.
“Though, if you know a way to resolve this conflict peacefully, I’d be happy to hear it.”

The ambassador thought for a moment. “We might be able to reach a compromise with the Jurei, but such a path will have to be taken with utmost caution and care, as the slightest mistake or word could ruin any progress. Still, we must find a solution before terrorists and mercenaries decide to enter the fray.”

Prime Minister Jantei Saiteohago let out a short “hmmm” and sighed. “Naturally, the country will open it’s minds and resources to anything you see necessary, though operate with caution. Is there anything I can do, organize or perhaps even prepare? As in, a short term notice and preperation?”

“It would be best to see if a ceasefire can be arranged with the Jurei first and then try and contact them in order for arrangements to be made for negotiations to start. And if possible it would probably be a good idea to come up with a list of possible demands that the Jurei will want and try to develop a game plan with that list. Vulshain will also assist with any humanitarian aid that your nation requires as well.”

Saiteohago let out a long drawn sigh. “So be it, I shall try and re-establish connection with the Jurei politicians and freedom movement again, do whatever you see fit. And I know exactly what they want, overthrow the emperor, they have tried before.” The prime minister turned off his TV and with a short repeat of his own demands and a goodbye he ended the phone conversation.

He stared out of the window with a blank expression, staring at the pouring rain. “On a rainy day, war changes it’s course like the rivers in the north” he whispered, thinking of an old saying of an old forgotten empire. After thinking about what the Vulshain minister said, he made up his mind and went outside, to head towards the emperor.

Jurei Front - Jureais City

With constant roaring of tank fire and passing fast attack crafts, the reporter on the field was barely hearable. “Good evening people of Kandorith, this is a unique moment in the war, as you can see; we have moved into the Jurei capital. The fighting is heavy and casualties are falling left and right, now the original plan of the armed forces was to surround the city and meet the politicians and leaders of the Jurei Freedom Movement. After these requests were send towards the city, the Jurei militants opened fire.” A person bloodied and with a shred uniform rushed towards the reporter and whispered something in his ear. The reported nodded and a smile appeared on his face.

“I have just received message; the army captured the Jurei politicians behind this rebellion, alive and well. They will be brought to the encampment near the province border to ensure their safety. Today will also mark the naval and marine forces joining into the effort of putting down the Jurei aggression. Defence Minister Hue-ge Tasho already begged the Jurei militants to lay down their weapons and surrender, to ensure they would not be harmed.” The reporter quickly turned around as a large explosion was heard and two fighter jets fly by, at extremely low altitude. The only thing escaping from the reporter’s mouth was a low “Woah” before he turned to the camera again. "The current mission is to capture the leader of the Jurei Freedom Movement; Tago Mu-Qing, who has openly declared he is behind the entire Jurei uprising. The Kandorese Armed Forces want to capture him alive, by any means necessary.
