Before

In the early months of 2018, Lazarus was controlled by the Undead Dominion, led by Funkadelia. Power peacefully transitioned to the Wolfist Khanate when Aleister/Lamb became delegate. On April 22nd Imki, a high-ranking offical in the Khanate, became delegate, replacing Killer Kitty, and ending the Khanate’s hold on the region. For a week, Lazarus was in anarchy. Many who had not participated in the region since Funk’s institution of the Undead Dominion of Lazarus returned, interested in what kind of place the new Laz would be.

After Anarchy Week, Imki announced the Peacekeeper Agreement, a document signed by her and executives in the governments of TP, TSP, TRR, Osiris, TEP, and TWP, that officialized the creation of a Constitutional Convention (ConCon), run by a group of former Lazarene Delegates, to create a blueprint for the region’s next government.

Amid rising tensions about who should be included in the ConCon and widespread dissatisfaction with the document the ConCon had produced, Imki dissolved the Peacekeeper Agreement and declared Mandate 12 the law of Lazarus.
Now

Over the last few months, Imki has slowly been organizing the new government of Lazarus; first appointing Treadwellia and Cormac as Vice Delegate and Speaker respectively; Roavin, Devi, and Sheepshape as Court Justices; New Rogernomics, Imaginary, and Killer Kitty as Ministers of Media and Events, Interregional Relations, and Recruitment and Outreach respectively; and most recently, upon the resignation of Cormac, McChimp as Speaker.

The community of Lazarus has calmed down a lot since the excitements of earlier in the year, yet the region’s RMB, forums, and Discord continue to maintain steady activity levels. Lazarus’s RMB conversation consists predominantly of greeting recently refounded nations, personalized roleplaying, and chill chatting; the forums tend to be used for more official things like government announcements, discussing legislation, signing up for jobs, and yknow, spam; and the Lazarus Discord is a convenient place for the community to relax with each other and foreign friends in real-time.

Media and Events

The Ministry of Media and Events has gotten some really cool stuff going in the region. The Lazarene Gazette, a long-time part of Lazarus’s culture, is once more a living newspaper, and a Grand Re-Opening Festival is being held on the off-site forums (featuring fun things like a Wolfist v. “La Resistance” game).

New Rogernomics has appointed Canton Empire as Assistant Minister of Media and Events to assist him with his job. Canton is currently organizing an At-War game to help Lazarus and Osiris have fun together, and recently set up a Q&A for Imki on Lazarus’s most recent civil war.

Interregional Relations

The Ministry of Interregional Relations has been doing well recently. Many in Lazarus who are interested in diplomacy and want to help out the new government have joined the ambassador team, which has already been able to assign a unique Lazarene to represent Lazarus abroad in each of its GCR embassies. A forum embassy system has also been set up on the off-site forums for regions that would like to have an official presence in Lazarus.

The MoIR has also been organizing interregional mini-events such as VC concerts and scribbl.io games to help the community of Lazarus get to know those of its embassies. These haven’t all been great successes, but the Ministry will continue to look for ways to engage more with Lazarus’s friends abroad.
