[POLITICS] Civics officially allies with the Prosperity Party

Dominic Grey, the president of the Civics, went with the president of the Arrows, Eric Ionavici, to the Federal Electoral Commission to submit the formation documents of the Liberal Union for next month’s elections. According to the two, the Liberal Union has a center-right, pro-Auroran orientation, and proposes, among other things, the elimination of military neutrality from the constitution and the preservation of the right to private property as a constitutional right.

“The time has come to overcome old enmities and join the fight for freedom. We will work to defend the rights of the citizens of this country and we will ensure that the country does not fall into dictatorship,” Ionavici declared.

According to the latest poll, only 19% of those interviewed would vote with the Liberal Union in the next elections for the Constituent Assembly.

[INTERNAL] Corova - Sticlari ferry ride resumes

The director of the Federal Administration of Maritime and River Routes, Elena Ionescu, said that the popular ferry between Corova and Sticlari, closed for almost a decade, will resume operations this month. According to her, the new boat purchased by the government has received an operating license and will arrive in the port of Corova early next week.

The sea ferry route between Corova and Sticlari has a long history. It first appeared in 1845, after the island of Sticlari was purchased by King Vlad I as a gift for his lover, and the races were interrupted in 1948, after the coup d’état of the League. In 1972, it was reintroduced after the reconquest of the island by the military junta.

After 44 years of operation, the Corova-Sticlari ferry route was closed in 2016 by the government due to the low number of passengers and the high costs of managing it.

[EXTERNAL] Shimajiro to be admitted to CIN next month

Shimajiro’s Imperial Chancellor, Sayuri Fujimura, announced that she has reached an agreement with Limbo and other member states of the Convention of Island Nations regarding her country’s accession to the Convention. According to Shimajiro Today, the government of the small island nation has already signed and ratified the entire Charter, which has also received royal assent from the Emperor Daishin.

Last month, President Hellen Portman paid an official visit to Shimajiro, where she discussed the country’s involvement in the Convention of Island Nations with Chancellor Sayuri Fujimura, she said, among other topics. The latter stated that:"This is a great opportunity to bring all of our nations together, in a world where island nations such as ours are otherwise left out of the fray in many respects. "

Regarding the discussion that the two heads of state had, President Portman told the press, before her departure from Shimajiro, the following: “I am delighted by the interest that other nations have in this initiative. The time has come to leave isolationist foreign policies and to get involved in foreign policy, that is why I approved the accession to UNAC, that is why I initiated CIN… The time has come to unite and work together for a better and fairer future for all,” she declared, referring to Henry Pren’s policy of diplomatic non-involvement.

Shimajiro is set to obtain member state status of the Convention of Island Nations on 1 September.

[EXTERNAL] Vocoț announces the foundation of two new LCI branches

The Head of the Federal Department of Culture, Education, Research and Youth, Silvia Vocoț, announced yesterday in a joint press conference with the Head of the FDFAD, Maria Tonova, that the draft law on the opening of two new branches of the Limboese Cultural Institute has passed the vote of the Council of Deputies and the necessary steps are to be taken for this.

“The draft law PLx 432/2025 has passed the vote of the Council of Deputies with 201 votes in favor. I would like to thank my colleague in the government, Mrs. Maria Tonova, for accepting to work with me to make the culture of our people known to the world,” Vocoț declared during the press conference.

According to the text of the draft, the two new branches of the Limboese Cultural Institute will be opened in two capitals: Seikan (Shimajiro) and Nagyfelvárad (Sigeta). The administration of the Institute is expected to write requests for the allocation of spaces for the organization of branches in the coming days, and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy will send the requests to the local authorities. The budget for this project is estimated to be around 5.3 billion lei.

[POLITICS] Sovereignists met at Limexpo

The National Sovereignist Bloc convention, organized by the Alliance for Liberty, ended yesterday evening. The event was attended by around 12,000 people, including AL president Mihai Remișceanu, who has been under criminal investigation since the beginning of the year for promoting ligarchism.

On the last day of the convention, participants marched from Limexpo to the Morst and Oscrelian embassies, where they protested with banners against the governments of the two countries. They also stopped in front of the UNAC Representative Office in Limbo. Fortunately, no incidents occurred during the protest.

A team will leave for Sempiterna only at the beginning of the summer, when temperatures will allow it. The project is part of the Federal Research Program 2024–2030, led by the Federal Department of Culture, Education, Research and Youth.

According to the same release, “the Academy does not deny the possibility of hosting research teams from CIN member states in the bases under the administration of the Limboese Sempiternic Institute, as provided for in the Charter of the Convention.”

[INTERNAL] Fatal accident on A9

[POLITICS] Social Democrats, divided on the issue of merging with the Communists

The members of the Social Democratic Party are completely divided on a purely hypothetical scenario: the merger of the party with the Limboese Communist Party. This comes after the communists announced the formation of separate factions and the organization of primary elections to choose candidates in the next elections.

According to sources within the party, this topic has been brought up for discussion by certain Social Democratic leaders. It is still not known exactly what the personal position of the Prime Minister and Social Democratic leader Alexandru Odobescu is, but he stated the following:

“I am aware that there is a certain topic that is quite discussed within the party and I will not take an official position on it. However, if the discussions on this continue longer than would be normal, then the only solution I see will be to convene a party congress.”

Last week, the Secretary-General of the Limboese Communist Party, Gabi Andreescu, announced the formation of factions within the party. At the moment, the known factions are those of the Kleinists, the Greens and the Moderates.

[INTERNAL] Anti-fascist protests announced by FSOL

The Federation of Student Organizations in Limbo has announced the organization of several protests in university towns in reaction to the growing popularity of extremism. An official statement says that these protests will take place both in front of state universities and in public areas.

“It is worrying and outrageous that now, after 39 years since the anti-fascist revolution, we have reached a situation where fascists are gaining popularity. In addition, we have observed how they demonize and use vulnerable segments of the country’s population for electoral gain. Fascism has no place in our country or in our culture,” the official statement says.

The protests will take place until September 5, with the possibility of being extended after the elections if the National Sovereignist Bloc wins the elections.

[INTERNAL] The government proposes a new social housing program

The head of the Federal Department of Labor and Social Affairs, Anamaria Paparudă, announced a new bill that seeks to re-establish the Federal Housing Agency. The project involves, among other things, the construction of new social housing, as well as the re-acquisition of land from real estate developers whose projects were canceled.

Anamaria Paparudă: “At the moment, I have discussed it with the development ministers of all regions and it was agreed that part of the project costs will be borne by the Federal Government. Part of the costs will be covered by Auroran funds, and the rest will be the responsibility of the regional governments.”

The bill is to be debated in the Council of Deputies next Tuesday.

[EXTERNAL] Packilvania-Sigeta Non-Aggression Pact renewal, questioned

Several members of the Sigetan Communist Party do not want the renewal of the non-aggression pact with Packilvania, on the grounds that it would disadvantage Sigeta economically and militarily. According to Szikra, several Sigetan MPs are requesting the amendment the text of the pact, demanding the establishment of a demilitarized zone along the borders with Packilvania and guarantees that the sultanate’s armed forces will not enter the country’s airspace or maritime waters.

At the moment, Sigetan resident Attila Szabo is in Packilvania with President Hellen Portman for negotiations.

[POLITICS] Party mergers: the new trend

Several parties want to merge with each other, according to the latest information. This would not be something new this year, after the formation of the Communist Party by merging over half of the members of the United Popular Front.

In the foreground we have the Prosperity Party, which is doing poorly in the polls. According to the latest LISPS poll, they would fall below the 2% electoral threshold if they competed alone in the elections, which led to the proposal of the party joining the Civic Union, a party with almost similar values. The same thing is proposed within the Progressive Conservative Party, but towards the Thaerist Democratic Union.

Another example is that of the parties in the National Sovereignist Bloc, where the leaders of the formations propose the formation of a new party with similar values.

[INTERNAL] Electoral campaign, over

Starting today, the electoral campaign for the Constituent Assembly elections is over. Thus, any person or organization that posts or disseminates electoral content in favor of a certain candidate or party will be fined at least 1200 lei.

Also, the Federal Audiovisual Authority will sanction any television or social network that does not remove electoral content posted during this period.

[EXTERNAL] The diaspora, first at the polls

Although for those in the country, the elections will only take place tomorrow at 7:00, polling stations abroad have already opened. For those in the diaspora or those on vacation abroad, the voting period is three days, with the last voting day being September 8.

In Sigeta, where around 250,000 citizens currently live, a turnout of 52.7% was reported in the first half of the day. At the embassy in Nagyfelvárad, the waiting time is currently around an hour. Local authorities have set up a shaded area for those waiting in line and have offered them cold water, especially considering the high temperatures in the area.

The diaspora vote has always brought certain formations to victory, which is why the parties have intensified their diaspora campaign.

[SPECIAL] Rules for participation in the electoral process

If you are in your locality of residence, you can vote only in the voting station to which you are assigned on permanent lists, and if you are in another locality, you can vote in any polling station on additional lists.

In order to vote, you need your ID or passport. You are not allowed to enter the voting booth accompanied by another person, except for those accompanying persons with disabilities. You are not allowed to film or photograph inside the voting booth. The display, publication or distribution of electoral propaganda or opinion polls is prohibited throughout the voting period. Any irregularities during the elections can be reported to the Federal Audiovisual Authority or the Police.

Voting stations will close tomorrow at 10:00 PM, but their hours may be extended up to 23:59 if there are still people waiting to vote.

List of the main characters

Ash Grigore - LBC Info news anchor - They/Them - Human
Elena Holeanu - Center for Political Sciences Rector - She/Her - Elven
Bogdan Ionescu - RFU Investigative journalist - He/Him - Orc

[Ash:] Dear viewers, welcome back to the special edition of LBC Info. As I mentioned before, with me in the studio is the rector of the Center for Political Sciences, Elena Holeanu, and journalist Bogdan Ionescu. In a few moments, we will have the results. Mrs. Holeanu, you said earlier that this year is a year of change in the politics of our country.

[Elena:] Yes, and I will tell you why. For the first time in the political history of the country, we had a left-wing governing coalition, with a party assumed by the extreme left at the helm. We have also seen an ascension, so to speak, of the political left at both the regional and federal levels, taking into account the right-wing governments so far.

[Bogdan:] And, of course, in addition to this, we have observed several corruption cases being solved by the General Anti-Corruption Commission. The most famous examples, which I personally think we all know, are the Limsilva case and the BNL reserves theft case, cases that have been delayed in the courts for a very long time.

[Ash:] However, let’s not forget that some of the convicted criminals fled the country, specifically Ran Pristine and Bertha Neumann.

[Elena:] A rather sad thing, considering that they have delayed the trial of the cases in which they are convicted for as long as… 7-8 years, if I remember correctly?

[Bogdan:] Yes, for almost a decade.

[Ash:] Ok, a few more seconds until we find out the final result. There was a large turnout in these elections, a record compared to the last elections. And here it is…

The screen cuts to a pie chart showing the results.

[Ash:] … the United Popular Front with 51%, followed by the Libertarian Party with 32.6%, the Justice Party with 8.4% and the Liberal Union with 8%. As we can see, the United Popular Front won the majority.

[Elena:] A pretty incredible score, if I may put it that way. The far-right also had an okay performance. In a way, the two political extremes won.

Ash looks as Bogdan, who is staring at the chart with the results displayed on the large screen behind them.

[Ash:] Bogdan, I noticed that you are looking at the results in amazement.

Bogdan turns back to Ash.

[Bogdan:] Yes, Ash, and more so because of the funny situation. Because of the result that the Liberals have. The Civics have gone from being the largest political force in the country to 8%, and this in an electoral alliance.

[Elena:] After what happened at the beginning of the year, it can be said that Odobescu was the best option for the party leadership, compared to Dominic Grey, and this could lead to his removal from the party leadership. That is if he does not resign, of course.

[Bogdan:] A worrying result is that of the far-right and the “Justice Party”, which from my point of view can be a satellite party of the Libertarians, and I will tell you why. Ileana Vântur, the party’s founder, is a former member of the Alliance for Liberty. Besides that, the party has almost the same so-called anti-establishment message as the Libertarian Party. However, fortunately, they do not have a majority. It remains to be seen what will happen next.

[POLITICS] Social Democrats split

The National Congress of the Social Democratic Party ended three days ago, where the Social Democrats voted overwhelmingly to merge with the Limboese Communist Party. The congress was called by the party leader, Prime Minister Odobescu, due to the number of members who left the party in favor of the LCP. However, there are voices within the party that criticize this measure.

“It is not a good measure, because we are abandoning a portion of the electorate, the portion of the center-left to the center, which could be taken by those from the Justice Party or Civics. And if we want this not to happen, then there must be a more moderate movement for them. Of course, we who oppose these measures will go our own way,” declared Adrian Popoviciu.

The moderate faction of the party released a statement yesterday evening announcing the formation of a new center-left party: the Labour Party. They also stated that they will continue to collaborate with the communists through the United Popular Front.

[POLITICS] Alice Meyer, removed from TDU leadership

The Thaerist-Democratic Union Congress voted urgently to remove Alice Meyer from the party leadership after she proposed a merger of the party with the Limboese Civic Union, replacing her with Emilia Bauer. Among the reasons listed by the party in the official statement published yesterday are: planning the dissolution of the party without consulting the Congress, the alleged influence of Bertha Neumann (convicted in a Limsilva case) on Alice Meyer, and the lack of a plan to recover the party’s image after the Fomalhaut protests in June.

Also at the same Congress, the party adopted a new political statute and will negotiate the party’s accession to the United Popular Front, completely leaving the Liberal Union.

[INTERNAL] Protests against the far right resume

Anti-fascist protests in major cities have resumed after the Constituent Assembly elections, with people taking to the streets in large numbers. In Corinești alone, police reported around 100,000 participants in recent days, with people gathering in front of the Palace of Parliament, carrying banners with various messages.

Protester: “I think the country has suffered enough from half a century of right-wing rule, and I don’t think it’s right that over a quarter of the people have chosen the far-right, even though they are fully aware of what it has done to our people and our country.”

Protester: “They should be banned, in my opinion. If money and profit are more important than our well-being, then they should disappear completely.”

A person was arrested and taken to the police headquarters after he tried to hit several protesters in front of the Parliament.

[INTERNAL] The new school year has begun

Students have been welcomed back into schools as the new school year begins. This year brings new things for them, such as changes to the curriculum and standardized textbooks at the federal level.

The Federal Government has invested substantially in education since the end of last year. A record 10.3% was allocated to education and research in this year’s budget, and officials hope that this will bring about a change in the country’s education system.

[INTERNAL] President Portman, back in the country for medical reasons

President Helen Portman returned to Limbo last week after she reportedly felt unwell during her diplomatic tour. She was due to go to Lièhuǒ after her visit to Packilvania and Sigeta, but she returned on the advice of her doctor, the Presidential Administration said in a statement. Her status is still unknown at this time.

[POLITICS] Libertarians, under the watch of intelligence services

The executive director of the Federal Intelligence Service, Alex Petros, said that the Libertarian Party was placed under surveillance on the grounds that the party’s program and political status contravene the constitution. He added that there are suspicions that former sympathizers of the National League are within the party.

“All campaigns, communications, financing and official meetings of the Libertarian Party will be closely monitored by officers of the Federal Intelligence Service. In the investigations conducted so far, it has been found that the organization’s campaigns have used themes and language characteristic of ligarchist and fascist discourse,” the intelligence chief said.

This is not the first time that the far-right has come under the authorities’ sights. Earlier this year, the Alliance for Liberty (which later merged with other parties to form the Libertarian Party) was banned in several regions, decisions that were confirmed by both the High Court and the Constitutional Court.

[POLITICS] Scandal in the Constituent Assembly

Several members of the Constituent Assembly from the Libertarian Party and the Justice Party caused a scandal during the debate on military neutrality in the constitution. They repeatedly interrupted the speeches of the other members of the assembly, some of them even threatening others with beatings.

“I ask the members of the assembly to maintain order during the plenary session. If you cannot do this, then leave the hall.”

Thus began the first meeting of the Constituent Assembly, with screams and chants from the right-wing members. Not even the president of the session, Alina Meyer, who repeatedly warned that they would have to leave the hall if they continued to interrupt the plenary session, could stop them.

“Do you want us to be vulnerable to the forces hostile to the country, to be forced to give up our homeland? Aren’t you ashamed to continue with this stupid aberration?” declared Mihai Remișceanu.

Finally, Alina Meyer threatened that those who continue to disrupt the plenary session will be removed from the Constituent Assembly, which seems to have dampened the spirits of the opposition. The proposal to keep military neutrality in the constitution passed the assembly vote with 300 votes in favor, 163 against and 37 abstentions.

[INTERNAL] Droughts and floods are becoming more frequent, experts warn

Experts from the Federal Institute for Hydrology and Water Management (FIHWM) draw attention to the increase in drought durations and the increased number of flood warnings in the last five years.

According to their report, if concrete measures are not taken, several localities will be forced to rationalize water consumption. Among the areas most affected by the drought are Sticlari Island and the north of Cimeu Island, as well as the extreme northwest of the country.

Last year alone, over 20 hydrological warnings of orange and red drought codes were issued, for a total duration of almost three and a half months. Several farmers were forced to increase prices due to losses caused by the drought. One example is that of Ghiță Mihalache, whose agricultural land is located three kilometers from Averetea.

“We lost about half of the wheat harvest this summer, from November-December to April […] It’s not easy at all lately, we’re losing tons of cereals. There are weeks and even months when there’s no water for irrigation, the land becomes dry. I know others whose fields caught fire,” said Ghiță.

There’s no good news about the floods either. This year brought the most disastrous floods on record. Those in Fomalhaut, in April, were among the worst, causing the deaths of 12 people and damages of over 12.3 million lei. The mountainous areas and the regions in the west and south are the most affected by the floods.

[INTERNAL] President Hellen Portman, in good health

The Presidential Administration has issued an official statement stating that President Helen Portman is in good health and that she had to return for a regular check-up. According to the same statement, Portman will not continue her visit to Lièhuǒ, but will meet with the country’s head of state at the next CIN summit, which will be held in Beiras.

President Helen Portman suffers from a mild form of tricuspid insufficiency, a disease of the tricuspid valve of the heart. She was asked by her cardiologist to return to the country for a check-up.

[POLITICS] Scandal regarding new constitutional amendments

Another scandal occurred in the Constituent Assembly during the debates on the constitutional rights of citizens, after the United Popular Front proposed several amendments, the main reason for the scandal being the mention that the right to private property would be ensured and regulated by legislation, not by the constitution.

“Private property is a fundamental right that has existed since the first constitution of the country. Removing it from the constitution is completely absurd and a clear sign that the government is trying to restrict our rights,” said the president of the Civics, Dominic Grey, during the debate.

“Excuse me, Mr. Grey, but let’s look at the statistics: since 1948, the property of the state, that is, of the people, has been privatized in a chaotic manner by the ligarchist regime. Private property is defined as property exploited for the generation of capital. Stay calm, no one will take your phone or toothbrush,” said Communist Alina Meyer in response.

In addition to this new change, there is also the right to personal property, the right to food and water, the right to dignity, the right to free and quality education, the right to health, the right to revolt against the state (with the caveat that this can only take place if it violates the constitutional rights of citizens), and in the case of freedom of conscience, a religious reason is not needed.

Also in the same package of proposals made by the United Popular Front, the constitutional prohibition of ligarchism, fascism, chauvinism and any ideologies that promote hatred or discrimination was proposed.

Both proposals passed the vote of the Constituent Assembly.

[INTERNAL] Car attack in Corova

Anti-fascist protests organized by students and trade unionists across the country continued yesterday, including in Corova, where several people protested in front of the headquarters of the regional branch of the Libertarian Party. During the protest, unfortunately, a person intentionally drove his car into the crowd of protesters, an incident that resulted in the death of 11 people and the injury of 27 others.

The driver of the car tried to flee the scene, but was caught by law enforcement at the entrance to the A3 highway. He tested negative for both the alcohol and drug tests. According to sources close to the investigation, there is no connection between the guilty driver and the Libertarians.

Following the events in Corova, several parties expressed their condolences to the families of the victims, and the Communists have also accused the Libertarian Party in a post on the party’s official page of inciting violence. At the time of publication, Mihai Remișceanu, the president of the Libertarians, could not be reached for comment.

The Federal Government adopted a decision earlier today to declare a week of national mourning.

[INTERNAL] LiSA opens new Space Center

The Limboese Space Agency has opened the new Gorvoaia Space Center, located in the town of the same name. Its construction began in 2016, but was slowed down due to funding issues in 2020. The head of the Federal Department for Culture, Education, Research and Youth, Silvia Vocoț, attended the opening of the center.

“As I stated at the beginning of my mandate, the development of our country is important. And this is not just about economic development, but also about education, research, health and infrastructure. We hope that through this new LiSA facility we will convince as many young specialists as possible to stay in the country,” Vocoț said.

According to the director of the Limboese Space Agency, this facility will also be available for use by researchers from Sigeta (through the Bilateral Research Program) or other CIN member countries (only through an agreement with the Federal Government and the agency).

This is the third LiSA investment opened this year, after the Center for Astrobiology and Planetary Sciences (CAPS) in Corova and the Southern Grivița Astronomical Observatory.

[INTERNAL] Vigil in front of the Libertarian Party's HQ, in Corova

Several people gathered in Revolution Park in Corova, across from the headquarters of the regional branch of the Libertarian Party, where they laid candles, flowers and pictures of the victims of the September 20 car attack. Next to the area set up in memory of the victims, people placed several banners with anti-fascist, anti-ligarchist and anti-Libertarian messages. The vigil was also attended by President Hellen Portman, Prime Minister Alexandru Odobescu and the Oracle of Corova, Anamaria IV.

Such vigils have taken place across the country since the attack last weekend, in which 11 people unfortunately lost their lives.

“The tragedy of four days ago can only be described as a terrorist attack as a result of the amendments proposed in the Constituent Assembly to ban, once and for all, the far-right groups and organizations that have terrorized our entire history as a country. And, personally, I find the silence coming from them (the libertarians) at least suspicious,” Portman said, when asked by journalists.

[INTERNAL] New information regarding the Corova attacker

New information about the Corova attacker was presented by the director of the Federal Intelligence Service, Alex Petros, at a press conference at Hexagon, the headquarters of the Federal Government. The attacker, a 38-year-old man from Corova, is said to be part of the Patriots League, a far-right organization that considers itself the successor to the National League. It was allegedly founded by several people through the controversial website 5san.

“At the moment, intelligence agents have been able to identify and arrest 10 people active in this organization, including four people who are suspected of being involved in the Corova car attack on September 20, 2025. Regarding a possible link between the organization and any political party, the investigations carried out so far have not found any,” said the FIS director.

[EXTERNAL] Major political scandal in Shimajiro

A major scandal is brewing in Shimajiro’s political scene after some of the country’s port development funds went missing. According to Shimajiro Today, at least 14.2 billion yen was transferred to accounts held by companies with ties to political donors.

Shimajiro’s Vice Chancellor, Midori Saitou, has denied any involvement in the scandal, even though she approved the contracts earlier this year. Since the scandal began, she has been called to resign and has faced criticism, including from within her own party. Chancellor Sayuri Fujimura has not yet commented on the new information from the investigation.

[EXTERNAL] FAIDSA withdraws aid workers from East Atlalandr

The Federal Agency for International Development and Sapientarian Aid (FAIDSA) has decided to stop sapientarian aid to East Atlalandr and withdraw it’s aid workers, recruited through the National Charity Program. This decision comes after the stabilization of the situation in the region and the exhaustion of the fund allocated for the mission.

According to a statement from FAIDSA, the last delivery of medical equipment, medicines and basic food took place last week. The Federal Government announced that it could not allocate more substantial funds for the East Atlalandr mission in order to avoid increasing the budget deficit, which has already reached 1.2% of GDP.

[POLITICS] Remișceanu, removed from the leadership of the Libertarian Party

The regional leaders of the Libertarian Party met last night at the party headquarters to decide the fate of Mihai Remișceanu, voting in favor of his removal from the party leadership. The vote was initiated by the president of the regional branch in Severigea, Steve Wilson, who motivated this decision by the fact that the party’s image has worsened under Remișceanu’s leadership, also criticizing the party’s lack of public condemnation of the attack in Corova on September 20.

“Under the current leadership, we have seen what it means to do nothing to improve your image and that is why we proposed the dismissal of Mr. Remișceanu from the party leadership. We remained silent at the very time when we should have condemned the actions of some, which cost us a lot,” Wilson declared in an intervention for NSK News.

Until a new leadership is elected, Steve Wilson will be the acting president of the political party.

[INTERNAL] The Federal Government, reluctant to adopt austerity measures

Limbo has already reached a budget deficit of 1.2% of gross domestic product, but the government seems hesitant to adopt spending-cutting measures. Prime Minister Odobescu said in a press conference that a plan is being worked on to address the deficit, but he assured that there will be no layoffs or cuts in salaries or benefits in the public sector.

“I want to clarify that we have a staff shortage in quite a few areas, such as education or health. What is really needed is to reform the Federal Tax Administration Service, to tackle tax evasion and to ensure that people with higher incomes or companies with high profits pay their share,” he said.

Several programs run by the Federal Government were suspended indefinitely at the end of September.

[INTERNAL] Bomb threats ahead of anti-fascist protest in Bergstad. Federal Police: 'This is not an isolated case.'

Anti-fascist protests continue nationwide, but not without incident. In Bergstad, police reportedly received an anonymous bomb threat at the same location where the student protest was supposed to take place, where a suspicious package was found. However, it did not contain explosives, but empty bags.

This was not the only incident last week, according to the Federal Police. Similar threats were also made in Corova, Herera and Matrolinsk.

\[INTERNAL\] Communists propose a change in the political system

The Communist members of the Constituent Assembly have proposed a change to the political system. They propose reducing the number of members of the Federal Council to 13, composed of regional governors. Another proposal is to increase the number of deputies in the Council of Deputies and add midterm elections (which would take place halfway through the president’s term).

In addition to these proposals, the citizens’ initiative is also listed, which can be at both regional and federal levels. Through this mechanism, citizens will be able to propose laws or request the organization of a referendum on a law voted by Parliament or any regional council, as well as the possibility of them initiating an impeachment referendum of governors or the president.

Also, the judges of the Constitutional Court will not be able to be appointed on political criteria, as they will have to have not been active in any political party for at least 10 years before being nominated for office. The Court will also be able to suspend the autonomy of a region if the regional government uses excessive force against the opposition.

The proposals for the new constitution will be voted on at the next meeting of the Assembly, which will take place on October 10.

\[INTERNAL\] Representatives of student organizations met with the interim leadership of the Libertarians

After three weeks of intense anti-fascist student protests, representatives of student organizations met with the interim leadership of the Libertarian Party, led by Steve Wilson, at party headquarters. They demanded that the party abandon ultranationalism and ligarchism, adopt a more moderate manifesto, and condemn all forms of far-right terrorism.

The meeting lasted three hours, during which protests continued across the country. Representatives of student organizations left the headquarters around 18:00, declaring that no agreement had been reached.

“We tried to give the Libertarians a chance to right their wrongs, but they apparently did not want to be cooperative and understand us. Even though the party has changed its leadership, it is still the same as before: a fascist organization that endangers our unity and rights. The protests will continue until both we, the student organizations, and the unions, decide to stop them by mutual agreement,” declared the president of the Federation of Student Organizations in Limbo.

On the same day, the Libertarian Party issued a press release stating the following:

“Although the interim leadership of the Libertarian Party, in office since 1 October 2025, assured the representatives of the student organizations that the party will never attack the citizens’ rights in the constitution, the decision was made to refuse their requests due to the fact that such a decision cannot be made by an interim leadership, and they contravene the right to free expression guaranteed by the constitution.”

\[INTERNAL\] Passenger train derailed near Filimon

A passenger train operated by CFL traveling on the Iasonvil - Matrolinsk line derailed near Filimon (CS) due to weather conditions in the area, and several people required medical attention at the scene.

The railway was reportedly covered in snow and ice, causing the train to derail. Rail traffic was affected, resulting in delays of up to five hours. CFL has already announced that it will investigate the case.

\[EXTERNAL\] ICP expresses concern about the state of the left in the world

The Internationalist Communist Party has issued a press release expressing its “deep concern” about the state of the left in global politics. The organization, formed by the Limboese Communist Party and the Sigetan Communist Party, said in the same statement that it cannot support political parties that endanger the unity of the left against fascism.

In the document released, the ICP said it would not be able to support parties such as Lapérouse’s Royal Workers’ Party or Shimajiro’s new Co-operative Party, considering the former a betrayal of leftist values, and viewing the latter with skepticism. It also hopes that leftist movements around the world will reach a compromise “to be able to fight against capitalism and fascism, for the liberation of the working class.”

The Internationalist Communist Party was founded in 2000 by the SKP as opposition to the “monarcho-socialism” of the International Red Union, and the Socialist Workers’ Party was a member of the ICP until the formation of the Limboese Communist Party this summer.
