Lines In The Sand

Command Deck, U.N.V. Aura
Southern Gondwanan Bay, 2133 Hours, 12.11.2016

“All fleets, stand by red alert! Battlestations, repeat, all fleets, stand by on red alert!”

Railcannons of all 26 ships in the Second Emberitian Fleet turned to face northward as the corridors and bulkheads sang the same angry note. Light strips along the wall dimmed to a hot red glow from their usual soft white, and the whole crew’s pace seemed to speed somewhat.

An eager lieutenant listed off redouts from her station. “Admiral, all systems are functioning within established parameters. Fighters are in the sky, cannons are prepared to fire.”

Clevt sighed and bluntly said, “No.”

“N-No, sir?”

“I won’t fire the first shot. But we damn well better be ready to fire the second one. Are the cannons loaded?”

“Yes, admiral.”

“Then get me a fix on every ship they’ve got. I want to dare them to take a shot at my ship.”
[edit_reason]Added an actual thing[/edit_reason]

In the territory south of the , two long range cannons have taken aim at the enemy ships and while they prepare to fire, the military bases on the south territory fires missiles at the enemy ships. The Navy is preparing to fight. . .

On board the TSS Intrepid, a ship that holds about 85 crew. It is actively part of an embargo against the Fire Pact, Tripartite State in particular. The ship is a destroyer, and is ready to open fire on anything that crosses its path.
Tarkovi Regimus was looking through his binoculars that his grandmother had given him, when he noticed a band of boats.
“Hey, Viktor, look at this” Tarkovi handed him the binoculars.
“Oh, Shit!” Viktor Quraltov called out to the higher decks to use their telescopes and sent them coordinates of approximately where the boats were.

Lieutenant Yorev Forovi, who had been the first to get the coordinates, studied the boats, and after about fifteen minutes of studying the boats ran over to the Captain’s quarters.
“Captain! We have sighted a group of small boats headed our way. We have reason to believe they are from Tripartite State, and are armed. Do we open fire?”
“Of course you open fire!”
“Alright Captain. OPEN FIRE!”[edit_reason]Added many descriptions[/edit_reason]

Sirens blared throughout the 1st and 5th Fleet as general quarters was ordered over the intercoms of each ship. To counter the enemy missiles, the destroyers of the 5th fleet launches chaff and sea to air missiles in an attempt to take out as many missiles as they can. The rest of the 1st and 5th fleet fired off salvos of 8 inch, the night sky lighting up with shells and Tomahawk anti-ship missiles flying through the skies. The Normanza class battleships Saber and Shinsu started to bombard enemy ground troops on the other side of the firing line with their 11 inch guns. The SMDFS Saber launched 15 TLAM-Ds in an effort to lower the enemy ground forces morale.

As the 100 trade runners became 76, they began to fire unto the enemy ships with their rocket launches. Suddenly, missiles from the came straight towards the enemy ships as they watched in awe.

OOC: Come on! Do you remember what happened last time? And it was already a war!
“Fire the railguns! Fire the missiles! Schießen!”
Vice Admiral Ludwig Otto ordered missiles fired at the Fire Pact’s holdings on the Fire Line. No doubt that they had something against them. After a few seconds, he ordered another round of missiles, and then another. Then they needed to reload.
The railguns accelerated shells into the enemy fleet (OOC: You still have it, Trip) and , which was engineered to pierce the armor for a distance before exploding. Some shells were fired at the blockade runners. The submarines also fired their torpedos into the enemy fleet and the blockade runners. Torpedo bombers cycled on and off the deck of the aircraft carrier, dropping their load at the enemy fleet. “Komm schon, komm schon, come on.” (OOC: Did you forget that he sometimes slips into German? Get used to is.)

The enemy missiles were inbound, but were intercepted by the next salvo of missiles.
OOC: Rocker launchers? You didn’t say that they had rocket launchers! (I’ll consider it godmodding)

“Missiles inbound, Admiral!”

“Light them up, lieutenant. Prioritize incoming ballistics over anti-ship operations. Commander!”

“Yes, sir?”

“Get the heavy cannons trained on the sources of those missiles. Take out whatever they’re using.”

The Aura adjusted from her horizontal position across the bay to provide a smaller cross section to incoming rounds. The cannons broadsided the rocket launchers, with mixed results.

“Commander, report!”

“I’ve got too much interference. Dust clouds, I dunno if it hit.”

“All pilots, form up over the flotilla! Target incoming bombers and missiles.”

Abramov sighed. “Well, we didn’t start this.” He turned to his men, and his demeanor changed from regretful to commanding. “But we will end this. Have our Sostyazatelnyy frigates screen the Emberwood ships, given their higher tactical value. The Reyndzher, cruisers , and destroyers will concentrate fire on those freight runners. The same goes for our Konkuriruyushchiy-class ships, but they are to immediately target enemy aircraft should any arrive.”
“Aye, sir.” the comms officer began messaging the fleet furiously.
“And gentlemen,” Abramov addressed his bridge crew. “we have served in many battles together. I must say that I do not believe there is a better crew in the Strataric navy.” He paused. “Let’s serve in many more.”

(OOC: Abramov has a segment of the Strataric 3rd fleet presently at his command. It has the following ship classes:

8 Sostyazatelnyy-class Frigates
3 Konkuriruyushchiy-class Frigates
6 Zheleznyy Kulak-class Destroyers
3 Khishchnik-class Cruisers
2 Podstrekatel-class Cruisers
1 Klyk-class Battleship)

(OOC: My navy wasn’t out yet. . .also, you knew about the rocket launchers in the other Topic, "International Fire Pact Alliance Space Station
)

In the territories that made the Fire line, the two long range cannon still fired at the enemy, but they lost half of the crew. Meanwhile, the trade runners.now became 49 as they attempted to take over 3 destroyers. As they battle for control of the ship, the Navy has been told to stay near only the Island States and the home land, but that did not stop a fleet of bombers and 13 missles coming straight towards the enemy. . .

“Sir! Enemy aircraft coming!”
Vice Admiral Otto, being Otto, ordered (wait for it) anti-aircraft guns fire at them, while the railguns engaged the blockades, while missiles continues to fire at the the cannons. (If they were that long range, it has to be propelled with something the power of an IRBM, and they take weeks to load)
Also, for reference, the 8th fleet has:
20 Freedom-class frigates,
10 Powerful-class destroyers,
5 Resolute-class subs, and
2 Victorious-class aircraft carriers.

“Sortie all fighters!” Ordered Admiral Wright.

“Aye Sir! The 44th Carrier Air group has been given the order!” replied the petty officer at the communications system.

The 1st and 5th fleet are comprised of (not including amphib. assault ships):
2 Newport-class aircraft carriers,
5 Setzna-class cruisers,
2 Normanza-class modern battleships,
10 New Alexandria-class destroyers, and
32 Falkzler-class frigates.

With some casualties, two of the destroyers were soon rid of the boarders, and rejoined the main conflict. The outcome of the skirmish for the third destroyer, known as the Osvoboditel, was still uncertain.
The Osvoboditel’s captain, Leo Travnikov, was located on the still Strataric-controlled bridge. “Comms, alert the admiral concerning our plight.” he ordered sternly.
“Copy that, captain!”

“Admiral!” shouted an officer on the bridge of the Reyndzher. “One fleet of bombers inbound. The frigates are firing on them, as requested.”
Abramov nodded. “Order Duelyant and Nadezhnyy (two Sostyazatelnyy-class frigates) to join them. Also, I want the other frigates concentrating fire on those long-range cannons!”
“Copy!” replied the comms officer as he relayed the message. “Message from the Osvoboditel… Admiral, they’ve got boarders.”
“Chert.” Abramov mumbled under his breath. Then he addressed the officer. “If the invaders at any point look like they have a good chance at taking the ship, her crew’s number one priority is sabotage before the Stateans can take full control.” He turned his eyes toward the battle, still raging fiercely. “And wish them luck.”
A moment passed. “Relayed!”[edit_reason]Changed name of minor character[/edit_reason]

At this point, one of the cannons were destroyed, but the other kept on firing at the enemy ships, maybe even sunken 5 ships. The Trade Runners were dead now, but there was still the bombers who had run out of bombs. They returned to the Homeland as they knew kamikazing the enemy wouldn’t do any good. The Stateans who remained grabbed their artillery out and fired at the enemy while the cannon was firing. They planted explosions around the bases to destroy everything so the enemy couldn’t use anything. This battle may be lost, but they were only buying time for something a lot more deadlier . . .

OOC: You think. You may or may not be setting of my godmodding alarms. Also, (1 artillery cannot fire that far, and (2 Nuking me will not go over well.
Vice Admiral Otto ordered more missiles fired at the enemy cannon. He also commences bombarding and bombing military targets on the coast.

Ivan grinned as 6 Harstad class attack subs, 8 Wraith class destroyers, 2 Revenge class cruiser, 2 Anger class carriers, and 5 Death class attack transports started to head out to sea towards Tretrid to meet up with some of the Gliat Shean navy and air force. He was soon escorted to the air base where he saw 5 bombers, 5 gunships, 8 attack bombers, and various aircraft to deploy 3 platoons of paratroopers. After inspecting the forces, he was escorted back to Harstad Castle.

“They are ready my king,” Ivan said as he walked into the room.

“Good, good,” Jon replied, as he looked up from the map he had. “You may give them the order to deploy,”

“Yes Jon,” Ivan bowed and left the room to message the forces and the Tripartite State about this attack.

The UNV Aura continued to hold the line, standing at alert until the enemy had fallen back and torched its own lines. The LAWS turrets did their best to take out the incoming missiles, but the Robinson had taken a hit and their propulsion was offline.

“Jameson, report!”

“We’ve got a hull fracture, and the engine room is flooded.” The damaged destroyer’s captain replied. “I don’t see how we’re gonna be moving for the next few hours.”

Shit.

“Stand by, we’ll send the Davis out.”

ANV Noya-Jenski, 4th surface fleet detachment

“Sir!” called out the ships comms officer, a distinct tone of urgency in his voice. “Recon has confirmed reports of fire pact forces engaging friendlies 20km north-east of our position and we are receiving multiple distress calls, advise to engage immediately!”

Admiral Pelorre turned towards him, minor disbelief in his eyes. “Damn I knew the fire pact was aggressive…” he trailed off, going silent for a second. “Permission to engage granted, everyone to battle stations, now! Every vessel is to remain at a distance and bombard the enemy vessels from range, and I want the destroyers and frigates to surround the Noya-Jenski until reinforcements arrive.”

“Aye Aye Sir” returned the crew on the bridge, who began frantically scuttling around the bridge.

There was a pause for a second before the admiral began speaking again. “We need to put pressure on the fire line… get the mantis UAV’s flight prepared and ready for action ASAP and Send out a broad message to the other SEPCF vessels. We need to coordinate our air attack with the rest of the fleet, so I want as much intel on the positions of the Tripartite forces as possible so we make this work, is that clear?”

“Aye Aye sir” returned the crew once more, even louder than before.

The comms officer quickly drafted up a message and broadcast it over multiple friendly channels. it read:

— Begin quote from ____

This is the carrier ANV Noya-Jenski, requesting that any and all SEPCF vessels reply with intel regarding the positions of key fire pact assets, over.

— End quote

Pelorre wandered up to the window of the bridge and stared out at the distant conflict over the horizon. This was going to be a big one…

OOC: Hope this ain’t god modding im still a bit iffy with the situations.

Ragnar Harstad (a distant cousin to the king) smiled as he saw his 23 ships and 7 Gliat Shean ships approach the Tretridian shore as well as the around 20 aircraft he had.

“Ser,” a messenger said as he came up to Admiral Ragnar.

“What is it?” Ragnar asked without looking away from the shore.

“We are closing in on the city of Draeset, the men want to know what to do,”

Ragnar took out a map and pointed slightly south of Draeset, “I want our attack transports to land our soldiers around here and 4 of the destroyers to go with them to guard them. We will keep two subs with us and send the rest towards Draeset to destroy any ships there. The 7 ships Gliat Shea sent will also accompany the 6 subs. Two attack bombers and 3 regular bombers will go with them to help and bomb the city. The aircraft with the paratroopers will move around the city and deploy them along the outskirts. Once the city is captured, I want the surrounding country side taken and secured. The gunships will patrol these outskirts along with the other aircraft. The ships will patrol the waters. The soldiers will come back to the ships once the city is captured. Got it?”

“Yes ser!” the messenger saluted and ran off.

Ragnar smiled and went back to looking at the approaching shore.

((OOC: Sorry I was a little confused about the location of your fleet, didn’t realise you were attacking Tretrid. I’ll quickly edit my post now))
