Historical Summary: In 1762, Father Lobin of the recently formed Lobinist religion set sail from the Kingdom of Korćetta with a total of nine ships. It is believed that Father Lobin set out on this journey because of the constraints that life under the direct rule of the Crown put on his faith. The ships would land in modern-day Lobtupendia after a harrowing several-month-long sail through rough seas. Father Lobin, by a miracle, landed on an island, and the first sight he saw was a great blue lobster ripping apart a shark. This being a clear sign from his God, he founded the city of Lizoitir in sight of the lake from which the miracle sprung. The other eight ships would land on the other islands, establishing settlements with none to sparse contact with the others. This would be known to Lobtupendian historians as “The Great Voyage”.

Father Lobin ordered expeditions to the other islands, which would be carried out a few weeks after the founding of Lizoitir. The vessels set out to explore the other islands would come across their own people. The leadership of which would be brought back to Father Lobin on Lizoitir, there they would make a pact of informal union under Father Lobin and an agreement to, if opportune, revolt against Korćetta. Korćetta, by this point, sent a Royal Envoy to ensure some amount of Korćettan control over these rouges.

Father Lobin did not take kindly to this, though he tolerated the existence of the envoy not to provoke the anger of the Kingdom. For a time, this was the status quo; the collective territories now known as Lobtupendia continued to grow in population and economic status as they furthered their control over the islands they occupied. The natives would be forcefully converted or peacefully converted, or otherwise generally suppressed. It is considered a great shame in Lobtupendian history, considering the peaceful preaching of Father Lobin, but was nonetheless successful with the plurality of Lobtupendia being Lobinist following the turn of the 1770s. In 1771, the Great Revolt would begin in Korćetta. Lobtupendia, as a far-flung colony, would remain out of the conflict until 1781, when Father Lobin raised a host of 900 soldiers to march on the local Royalist outpost and offer three fish and a nice fleece for them to leave and give Lobtupendia independence. An offer which was accepted.

In 1781, the Holy Union of Lobtupendia would be founded under the principles of Lobinism.
