[hr]Nesapo’s Regional Happenings[hr]

Ikania Reelected as Delegate in Tied Election

Around a week into the month of August 2013, the week-long election process ended after 3 rounds, the old Delegate Ikania proving victorious. This was much to the surprise of many of the residents; the other candidate to have made it into the second and third rounds, The Republic of Llamas, had the support of several active members of Nesapo, including founder Bodobol and fellow candidate Luziyca.

These were the first democratic elections for Nesapo, a region founded in April of 2013. Ikania had been Delegate since a couple of days after it’s founding, ruling until early July as the nation Mojave, which was unfortunately killed by a giant hammer by mystical, deity-like beings known as ‘Mods’. The first round of the election featured four candidates: TROL, Ikania, Orentor and Luziyca. Ikania and TROL both progressed to the second round with 6 votes each, and the latter two candidates got kicked out after receiving only one vote each. There was a small amount of surprise when Bodobol announced he would not be running for regional Delegate.

Near the end of the first round, it had seemed the Ikania would win reelection in the first round, with seven votes compared to TROL’s six. However, much alarm was raised when it was discovered that the offsite forum’s Admin account, under the control of Bodobol, TROL and Ikania, had been used to vote for the current Delegate. Accusations of voting fraud flew at Ikania from Bodobol, though TROL decided it was simply an accident, and the additional vote was removed. And so both candidates progressed to the second round.

During this round, the arguments over who would become the next Delegate became tense. The RMB was constantly flooded with heated debates, and lighthearted conversation was virtually nonexistent. TROL and Ikania tied yet again, with 3 votes each. However, when it was discovered that Luziyca had stated his stance as pro-TROL on the thread yet forgot to vote on the poll, the arguments began anew. It culminated with TROL, sick of the fighting, nearly left Nesapo for good for a region known as Nerdfighteria. Eventually the Nesapoli Council ruled that there would be a third round.

The third round was short-lived and pointless; Ikania garnered one vote, but soon after the start of the third round, TROL announced he was dropping out from the elections. Ikania became Delegate for another four-month term (actually, this is a special case; this term is to be the only five-month long term), and TROL became Vice Delegate, staying in Nesapo. By the time the elections had ended, none of the TROL supporters really cared that Ikania won; they were just happy the fighting was over and there could be fun conversations on the RMB again.

[hr]About Nesapo[hr]

What is Nesapo’s core ideology?

Nesapo is generally accepting of most governmental ideologies, although fascist and anarchist nations are not typically allowed (but don’t ask the Founder why anarchists aren’t allowed; he wants to get this repealed, he’s just too lazy too currently). At our core, though, we are a group of nations dedicated to generally improving the quality of life worldwide; similar to the United Nations, for instance. We prefer pacifist methods, but we are not strangers to war; examples of Nesapoli wars include the Dragomerean and Elmorican wars, one of which ended in a stalemate (only because the other guy was a godmodder and refused to accept defeat >:c), and the other was a victory.

Why can’t the guy writing this think of anything else to put here?

Because he’s tired and he has stuff to do tomorrow. He’ll edit this post once he thinks of more stuff.

Nice update. I look forward to more.

And yes, our emoticons tend to have that effect :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks. https://groups.tapatalk-cdn.com/smilies/52127/1536592182.6772-smiley.gif?ttinline=true
Also, would it be possible to change the name of the subforum for this embassy to Nesapo, considering that that’s the actual name of the region?

You can request it http://theeastpacific.com/topic/985445/13/#new

Nesapoli Conference Turns Deadly

On the 25th of August, 2013, a peace conference for Nesapoli was held in the capital city of the Soviet League, Selvoniv for the purpose of boosting international relations within the region. Another purpose of the summit was to decide on Nesapo’s policies in this era of change for the region. Nesapo is in the process of obtaining a new Constitution, and several ideas for innovation in the region had been thrown around.

Six leaders attended, from the nations of Bodobol, Ikania, the Republic of Llamas, the Soviet League, Orentor and Northern Arstotzka. The majority of conversation went on between Gaius Emnium of Bodobol and Padraig Ehlnofey of Ikania.

The summit went as expected at first; there was discussion on what the new Constitution should look like, and an idea for a defending organization was thrown around. However, the conference took a surprise turn, when Ehlnofey’s guard, George Castro, began shooting. After drawing his gun, he fatally shot the Ikanian leader in the head, and proceeded to shoot Emnium in the stomach and then himself. Police agents and medical workers flooded the building, while media crews were stationed outside. Ehlnofey was pronounced dead at the scene, but Emnium remains in critical care in a hospital in Selvoniv.

After the summit, former Mojavic president Viktor Melkovich assumed control of Ikania, and Emnium temporarily transferred his responsibilities to his Head of Foreign Affairs, Yorick Mnis. It has been confirmed that measures will be put in place to raise national security in Orentor, Bodobol and Ikania, and possibly other Nesapoli nations. Cobbins has said that he may start seeing a therapist due to the shooting.

The Republic of Llamas Becomes Delegate

In a surprise decision on 29 October, Delegate Incumbent Ikania announced that he was resigning from the Delegacy and giving the position to the Vice Delegate and previous Delegate candidate The Republic of Llamas. Ikania made this decision following frustration with his opinion that Llamas was running Nesapo from behind the strings. The text of the announcement was this-

“Look, this is all confusing to me. Anything [Llamas] says goes, and I can’t do a thing. [Bodobol] will blindly follow you while I have no say. I’m tired of this. I resign.”

— End quote

Ikania has assumed the role of Vice Delegate under the guise of a new nation, Huntmar. Bodobol conducted an interview with Ikania following the resignation, the full text of which can be found http://nesapo.boards.net/thread/51/vale-unum-last-interview-ikania

Ikania had a reign of 217 days over two different nations, beginning almost immediately after the founding of Nesapo, before laws establishing democratic elections were passed, up until his resignation. Llamas himself had this to say about the resignation-

— Begin quote from ____

"No, Ike, don’t resign! Sniffles WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?!

Well, it seems that I won’t have any opposition in the next election."

— End quote

Ikania has said that he plans on running for Delegate again in the future.

Thanks for letting us know. Ikania seemed like a nice guy. I do hope he “regenerates” like he said in the interview. It is never a good thing when someone leaves NationStates.

He’s not actually leaving NS, just the Delegate position. The wording was admittedly a bit confusing, my apologies.

Oh good.

It’s a real shame we haven’t had an update in over four months…

Nesapo died in December and we haven’t had ingame embassies since then. :stuck_out_tongue:

The open forum embassy threw me off.
