[NOMINATION]: Vizier: American-Cascadia

Magisterium. The man needs no introduction. Dead. @American-Cascadia - Vizier. I nominate him. Please discuss.

Yeah probably

Nothing against dead, but as I’ve been mentioning - there are too many viziers. Breth was brought in to fill a specific position, what does dead fill that others can’t?

I still have not seen a coherent argument that there is such a thing as “too many” Viziers. My question for the nominee is therefore thus:

If you were not to become a Vizier, would you update with EPSA?

To give context, Breth was brought in as an RMB Vizier before Acronis left his role, he was not replacing anyone.

I would not. I do not have the time for a demanding position such as a EPSA soldier.

Correct, Breth fills a specialised role, a active RMB face that the team back then could not fill.

So what is the role that Dead will fill that other team members need help with? What of Dead’s skillsets is needed?

I ask this because I don’t think it’s a blank cheque for ex delegates to immediately become viziers.

Hearing this, I am in support of Dead’s nomination. We are not losing EPSA manpower and we are gaining the permanent counsel of someone who has been a common contributor to conversations for a year now. Dead is more familiar with the security apparatuses than many others and, although he and I have butted heads on issues before and he has, at times, sought to distance himself from the Praesidium’s counsel, he ultimately brings a perspective that expands and enriches our security council in a way that cannot be denied. He has a head on his shoulders for foreign affairs, security, activity, and fairness for our residents, which checks all the boxes I can think of.

Having seen all the piling operations and manpower EPSA needs, even off update, do you still believe that you would have no contribution to EPSA just because of a lack of time

I plan to vote in favor of this nomination.

I do not believe I would have the time, and I honestly am not too interested in EPSA or military orgs in general, other than an indirect role or leadership.

Old CIC, I think you’re misunderstanding something. Piling take up 5 mins of your day. You’ve sent out orders. Are you saying that you don’t have time for NS for 5mins of your day off update when you’re aiming to fill a security role?

I think that conclusion is absurd, you have time. Do you mean to say that you’re just more interested in the contributing through viziership over EPSA?

That is true. I am not really interested in the R/D side of NS. It has never really interested me. I enjoyed being CIC, but I don’t think I would really enjoy being a soldier. I apologize.

I bring a (usually) opposing view to most of the current Viziers. For example, I am adamantly against the proscriptions of Cordone and LWU. I also have RMB views from interacting with them for the past year and becoming active on Valsora. Alongside this, I also have experience as a Delegate, which lends some credibility as it involves interacting with the Viziers and all other aspects of the government, including foreign leaders. I feel that I have a good understanding of the security aspects of this region and would be a valuable addition to the Praesidium.

While I echo the concerns regarding the necessity of further vizier appointments, Cascadia has provided valuable input to the Praesidium during their time as Delegate, and I believe further input from them doesn’t pose any serious downsides. Happy to support.

I see no problems with this. Support.

Happy to support; however, I do see the argument for Vizier overflow. That being said, there are good points to be made for “you can never have too many Viziers” - unofficially, the Praesidium feels very much like the “upper house” of TEP, if that makes sense. Having so many Viziers feels a bit more worthwhile if you look at things that way.

I motion to vote.

Seconded
