Good afternoon TEP, following the operation multiple viziers volunteered for I made a promise to renominate them to the Praesidium. While the operation was not a success they prove to have the best for TEP in mind with all their actions, and deserve to return to the security body
In the interest of transparency, did these individuals formally have to resign from the Praesidium in the first place in order to participate in the operation? I understand being a Vizier is inherently WA-locking, but these are special circumstances, and the Praesidium is a security body - the operation in question was one in the interests of our security.
It is specifically stipulated that a resignation from the WA is an auto-resignation of Vizier status. off the top of my head can’t remember if it’s SOP or Conk but it is specifically in one of those locations. so, unfortunately, this thread does become necessary to renominated those who dropped to jump
No formal resignation process was followed, as Shadow said above, its automatic afaik. We made the Praesidium aware of our intention to take part well in advance, and only participated at the request of the Admiral of the EPSA.
I can confirm that as Admiral of the EPSA, I requested these individuals to help out with the once in a lifetime jump to get the numbers required to crush our enemies.
While the jump was cancelled due to operational complications, the 3 of them were on the field and I am proud that they were willing to contribute to TEP when we needed them.
TNP law has carveouts for these sorts of situations:
“5. Security Councilors must meet the same influence and endorsement requirements as applicants to the Council, and may be suspended or removed if they fail to do so.”
“7. By a two-thirds majority vote, the Security Council may exempt nations who have expended their influence in service to the region from any influence requirements to join the Council or to remain a member. Exemptions granted in such a manner remain valid until the exempted nation regains the required influence level.”
For example, Ghost was able to jump in a major op last year and remain on TNP’s Security Council. Would there be interest in something similar for TEP?
This sounds like a good pitch for SoP, which the Praeisidum I believe would need to vote to amend themselves. This could also help solve some valid concerns we have on continued EPSA activity as a Vizier.
