Nothing Is Really Over, Is It?

Happy that all of the dignitaries signed the treaty, Barvata moved over and signed it himself.

“It’s a pleasure to have held this treaty, thank you all for coming. If you would like refreshments there are some to the desk over there,” he pointed to a sleek table by the window, “if you would like to talk among yourselves, you’re more than welcome, otherwise please feel free to exit at the elevators or stairs down the corridor, thank you all.”

Following the ratification of the treaty, Barvata set to work immediately and spoke with King Olav of Norgsveldet and Jorge García, the newly-appointed President of New Puntalia, about the specifics behind the military presence that both Norgsveldet and the Puntalian Cooperation Council, led by Great Morstaybishlia, would have. They spoke in great length on the nitty gritty details, including location, and after nearly half an hour, Frankie, Olav and Jorge parted ways. Now that the road was paved, the two leaders may get their things organised to immediately begin deployment of troops and constructions for the foundation of military bases as per described in the treaty.

Barvata worked with his cabinet regarding deployment of forces, vehicles and vessels. He would seek to immediately deploy troops there in temporary accommodation before a few days later where the plan was to have a more permanent presence of barracks, docks and roads established for military use.

The New Puntalian government, on behalf of the Puntalian Cooperation Council and Norgsveldet paid off a few local communes well enough for their eviction, which was ordered by the highest authority and which was perfectly legal. The first vessel arrived and deployed troops to create a clearing. Grounds for a runway were cleared and after a day the first planes set down on New Puntalian soil- an island in La Paraiso.

Colonel Vermhar Mayr was the man who would lead the operation and command the military outpost and all of its comings and goings. He coordinated with the other commanders, colonels and captains that were designated from the other several nations of the Puntalian Cooperation Council. Vermhar Mayr was a man in his late fifties, of excellent posture and fitness. More of an average build, this man had seen combat in several theaters of war, the most recent being the Auroran-Pacific War where he led one of the Morstaybishlian divisions into Arkenvel, and what a bloody disaster that was. He received a considerable burn mark from his battle down his arm, and accompanied by his hard, militaristic glare and his chest tattoo of his special forces unit that he served in during the middle of his army career. Funnily enough, the surname Mayr was brought into the light over a lot of controversy regarding the death of Vothetrian politician Ursula Mayr during the Phoenix House Gunfight, the woman was Minister for the Home Department at the time; he was not related to her that he knew of. He glared out to the Arcturian sunset, chewing on a wheat leaf, the crunches forcing his jaw muscles to protrude.
