Hmm…I was dicussing with Kandarin that more unscrupulous members of the East Dannistrian military, during the civil war, had been playing around with a more severe strain of DMF (Dannistrian Madness Fever, a virus native to Dannistaan and mentioned in my news posts)…
Is this a common EP illness and am I allowed to involve those same unscrupulous members of the East Dannistaan military in this?
so far the disease is limited to Autumwindz and Honshu

What kind of mortality rate are you looking at? Spanish Flu (a variant of swine flu) pandemic of 1918 was around 2.5%, with something like 20 times the normal flu mortality rate amongst 15-34 year olds.
If you read any of my news posts, we already had an infection problem from a different virus and we are very far out so I will assume no infections until circumstances say otherwise.

Symptoms have become worse, with Fever and sore throat being the main problematic symptoms.
It is currently 24+ hours into initial outbreak
Infection has spread to East Malaysia via IL flight “Condor A8”
Infection has probably spread to other places as well, use your own discretion.

Muacke ache
Cough and sore throat
Fever
Nose Bleeds
Known Infections = 1 (actual infections 175)

It is currently evening of the first day
It will most likely spread to Dovakhan somehow. I’ve got it, how about some of the diplomats bring it to the conference in Rilanon!? Then, I can take it back to Dovakhan.
Anyways, can we PLEASE discover the cure?
I wouldn’t assume there is a cure, Dov…but if there is, it won’t appear for awhile.
This probably won’t reach FPS for a few days…but when it does, you can expect it to quickly become widespread.
I have one businessman in 1IL. He won’t be allowed to come back due to the healthscreening taking place in Dannistaan for “DMF”.
I guess a cure will happen somewhere around the 6 month mark

I’m assuming “humanoid mammals” includes humans? I’d got the impression this was a Nekomiki plague. If so Kelssek will be in the picture as well, since we have lots of travel with Loop.
Another word on RP realism here - be careful not to make things happen too fast. Generally there’s a period of incubation before symptoms appear. Means of transmission are still unknown. From what we see so far it could be contact with bodily fluids (like Ebola) or airborne (like the flu, and which is also generally less effective).
It’s tempting to enact an apocalypse, but given that modern medicine, with knowledge and equipment for proper hygiene and quarantine, is generally quite effective at controlling contagions, it really wouldn’t be very realistic and it would massively affect your other RP participation. Just something to keep in mind.

Good statement but bad example. We put more stock in our technology than is really due, but at the same time this isn’t really a supernatural horror plot such as those King works with.
Actually, The Stand was more my reasoning for why “quarentine it!” isn’t always the best soloution to a problem. Or a very sucesful one.
