TEP LIBERATION FACES REPEAL

In a normal week of March, East Pacificans world-wide were going about their day. But to the shock of those waking up one day, the World Factbook Entry of the East Pacific had given way to something new. The Eastern Loligarch Order had supposedly replaced the East Pacific government.
Meant as a prank for the upcoming April Fool’s day, the East Pacific underwent a cursory change into a dictatorship-style government on game-side. This prank, thought up of Former Delegate Yuno and others, was meant as an interesting way to celebrate April Fool’s. Throughout the duration of the prank, the ELO was either embraced or dislike by East Pacificans region-wide. However, the East Pacific government, known to all who used the forums during the time, was not actually being couped. However, many game-side users believed the coup was real, unaware of its existence being a prank until days later.
In accordance with the joke, a new World Assembly proposal was made to “liberate” the East Pacific from the ELO. However, due to the inability for the liberation to affect the region (The East Pacific cannot be password protected), it was mostly voted in for its symbolism regarding the ELO. The proposal heavy support on the voting floor with more than ten thousand votes in favor of the liberation.
However, soon after the prank was ended and a formal apology was made by Yuno. This was to assure those East Pacificans who believed the coup was real that the coup was actually fake and meant as a light joke. This released the stress from many East Pacificans who held worries about the affair.
Following a few months after the coup, a repeal of the Liberation is now being voted on in the World Assembly. Drafted by Tinhampton, the proposal refutes the points brought up in the proposal that liberated the East Pacific. The proposal is strongly supported by the government of the East Pacific; however, a few citizens dislike the repeal and wish for the failure of the proposal.
The repeal will finish voting on the first of December.
