During the Inital years of the nations formation it was a fairly isolated nation that spent much of its time working on its own while being suspicious of others. Even early in its history the population gained a strong republican tradition that only grew stronger as time went on, despite its inital isolationist tendencies the nation quickly became very strongly involved in world politics and wars, becoming directly or indirectly involved in many of them as it is always seeking to expand its power and influence while also pushing its own national interests.
