[PASSED] Repeal: “Regulating Electronic Waste”

General Assembly Resolution #771 “Regulating Electronic Waste” (Category: Regulation; Area of Effect: Safety) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Acknowledging that Regulating Electronic Waste was prepared and submitted with the best of intentions;

Identifying Section 2 reads “All operations specializing or involved directly in the donation of electronic waste shall be required to ensure the receiving party is able to contend with necessary procedures for destruction the proper care of electronic waste;”

Concerned that the word “destruction” in the aforementioned section changes the meaning of the sentence, potentially requiring that all receiving parties of donated electronic waste must have waste destruction capacities;

Additionally concerned that this may be an undue burden on said facilities which may be intermediary facilities prior to final recycling or disposal.

Hereby repeals GA 771 “Regulating Electronic Waste.”
