The air bit at his nose,as he sat in his tree perch. The air was cold up here, and on any other night it might of bothered him.But tonight was a hunting night.
A teenage girl walked past the tree. Her thoughts were scattered, and almost painful to listen to.“Why did I stay that long?I’ll be lucky if the shelter is still open when I get back”
Homeless. That made her the perfect candidate. He could here her heart, quickly dragging the blood he so viciously craved through her veins,as she walked down the twisting road.
If it were any other night,he might of felt sorry for the fate that lie ahead of her.But it was late, and Alister needed to feed.
The vicious hunter easily dropped from the 40 foot tree, landing only with a slight thud.He silently walked up the the meal.Using all the vampiric charm he could muster he lured her.“It’s dangerous to be here this late, should I walk you home?”
The girl jumped at the sound of his silky smooth voice. As she gathered her wits she looked at this strange guardian. He appeared no older than 16.Had she know who really stood before her, she would of bee more apt to run,for the teenage boy before her was actually over 2000 years old.
But she didn’t know this,so instead she replied,"I don’t really have a home…But maybe you could walk with me to the shelter?"Why not? She’d seen men much bigger than him,and plus how could anyone wearing custom made, specialty Converse (she’d recognized his shoes) be a serial killer?
Oh how mistaken she was.She turned to show him the way,and the second her back was turned,Alister opened his mouth exposing his fully elongated fangs.

He drank until she was losing consciousness. He had to pull away, the sun was rising. He raised from her body and pulled out a cell phone.
“Tomas?I need a clean up job in Redwood.Instruct the other elders to deconstruct the tent.We have to move soon”
