[REMOVAL] Motion to Remove Atrocha from the Conclave

Good evening my fellow Magisters,

I come before the Magisterium as representative of the Conclave at Large. Per Article B, Section 4.3, I am invoking this Section to formally request that the Magisterium vote on and remove Atrocha on grounds of inactivity.

It became apparent in Conclave discussions that Atrocha has not been present. The last message sent in the Conclave was on 14th Feb and the last general message sent in the main discord was 26th March announcing they were going back into the wilderness. If they had come to us and requested a LOA or even popped in every so often, I would not be motioning this, but it has been well over 60 days since anything was said in the Conclave channels, and well over 30 days since anything posted in general.

“But Shadow, why not wait for Arbiter re-confirmations?”

It is becoming apparent that there are some procedures within the Conclave that does require the Conclave-at-Large and even though 4 of the 5 members can vote one way or another, we still require the 5th vote. Yes the SOC can be amended, but that still does not address the issue of inactivity. The Conclave requires at least some attention as anyone who has served on the Conclave can attest. And plus, this would be one of the first times that the Magisterium gets to set the bar at what they believe to be fitting for inactivity, and I would rather it be now when there isn’t a crisis than when there is a crisis at hand.

I thank the Magisterium for their time, and I hope we can come to a speedy resolution on this issue.

Immediate agree on my part. This one person has put the Conclave at a standstill, and that is actively affecting our processes.

While it may be unlikely to work, has any attempt been made at direct messaging Atrocha and waiting for a day or two?

Fully supported. Under very few circumstances should inactivity of this sort be accepted, and being AWOL is not one of those circumstances. There comes a point at which substitutions must be made to keep things running smoothly.

Not to seem cold, of course - hoping all is well in Atrocha’s real-world life.

This being said, I am of the belief that the Conclave (and by extension, the Magisterium) should be allowed to explore new candidates.

The last attempt at reaching out to Atrocha was for the Trial in February. I am not aware of any occurrences within the last couple of weeks, but we have been pinging for both Atrocha and the Arbiter roles.

Alright, thanks.

I still think it would’ve been best practice to DM Atrocha before bringing this up, because it isn’t impossible the lad silenced his pings or is just resolutely ignoring TEP due to something happening IRL.

For the sake of completeness I’d urge the Conclave to DM Atrocha and give a 48h timeline for response. Until then I can’t support this removal.

We can reach out in his DMs, however, if it is the former and not the latter, that is concerning that we have officials who mute the discord when you can a) remove yourself from a lot of roles, and b) silence individual channels to prevent pings from coming from

That is fair; however, I think it’s just a case of discussing best practices and a removal the second time it happens, etc. It’s pretty easy to hit the “mute all pings” from a server.

To be clear though, my suspicion is that IRL has got the best of him and he won’t even respond to DMs, but nonetheless best to try

I have been in touch with Atrocha in DM’s and in various public/private spaces for matters relating to the Conclave and in his capacity as a member of Valsora’s Cartography Council, neither have been acknowledged for quite some time.

In my brief correspondence with him, I came to understand he does indeed have IRL responsibilities impacting his ability to maintain activity on-site. Unfortunately it was difficult for me to gather whether this was temporary, or if he’d be gone for an extended period, hence my inaction both in the Conclave and in Valsora’s Cartography Council, where he has just been stepped down. I support this motion, and will take fault in not having motioned this sooner myself.

Support this motion. I think we can all agree this isn’t personal, and merely procedure to move on from a hung court. If Atrocha wishes to return during the next arbiter nominations and can show that he has time for us, I think a fair opportunity will be given

I support this motion. I feel like everything that needs to be said has.

Support.

Given the urgency of this issue and the universal declarations of support amongst all of the commentors,

I motion this to vote

Seconded.
