Howdy howdy,
I didn’t ever want to do this, but recently I’ve been left with no choice.
I am going to be resigning with immediate effect from the position of Minister of Culture.
I will be staying in all other positions ![]()
Why am I resigning?
An array of issues. Some of you may have noticed that recently, I have been more and more inactive as of late. This is natural, it happens to many of us, but I have become overheated in the real world. A variety of personal issues and on-site issues have led me to this decision. I’m currently at a point in my life when everything is changing, nothing is ever staying the same, and my focus on this over my time on NS has started to have an effect on my performance as Culture Minister.
Before I move on to NS issues, I want to make clear that I am not blaming any one individual or organisation within TEP. We are all human, we all have lives, and that is completely valid. My dis-contentedness lies towards the system. For years, I have asked for better governmental integration between ministries so we can work more effectively as a government unit, and I have not seen that happening yet. Culture is a difficult ministry to run, you have to dedicate so much of your time to making it work, and yet even in its highs it still falls short. I am partly to blame for this, for not reaching out for more people to help with culture. But also a perceived lack of interest in culture from those higher up and from around have made the ministry an increasingly difficult one to run by one’s self, and that is why I cannot go on further; the workload is just too demanding with little turnout.
I have had to bail the ministry out of failure about three times now. I’d like to think that now, it is in a position where it can now be rebuilt, but I am not the person to oversee that rebuilding. There needs to be serious reconsideration on the government’s side when it comes to approaching culture. It is a massively important part of the region, it brings the community closer and strengthens our ties with allies. For what it’s worth, I have had a lot of fun running the ministry on and off, for the last three years. It’s time for somebody else to take the helm.
I still do intend to help out with culture. I am by no means resigning from the ministry altogether. But my leadership of it is beginning to falter and somebody else needs to take over before it dies off again.
Thanks for having me as your culture minister
here’s to more memories down the road.
