Historical Summary:
In the 1950s, Asperitet Station was founded by Cryria. Its name comes from one of the vessels used in their attempts to reach the North Pole. The large island the station is built on is called Torgensenholm, after the explorer Alfred Torgensen who originally discovered it. The research station has always welcomed international scientists and collaboration. In late 2020, upon joining the LN, Cryria gave administrative control of the facilities to the newly founded Rotantic Research Committee in order to further facilitate collaboration and so the station could receive funding from other nations as well. Upon the completion of this process, the station was renamed to Unity Station, though many other geographic features, buildings and locations retained their Cryrian names.
